Built in 1847 by Thomas and Cassa Beachey, four generations of the Gallaher families lived and loved here from 1885 to 1983. This three story Gothic Revival style home is listed on the National Historic Register and noted for its beautiful iron lace portico surrounding the front porch. Start your day with a delightful and filling breakfast before you experience the quaint historic ambience of Lebanon’s many antique and specialty shops. Perhaps you would prefer a train ride to Mason, savor some sumptuous chocolate, or visit an ancient prehistoric fort, or an historical museum or two. Maybe you would like to ride on a scenic bike trail and then stop for a soda from an old fashioned ice cream parlor, or for dinner, try the historic Golden Lamb built in 1803. If Lebanon’s not enough to enjoy, there is King’s Island, The Beach Waterpark, Cincinnati’s Union Terminal, Freedom Center or the Zoo, Dayton’s Wright Museum, Waynesville’s Antique and Specialty shops, Springboro’s Historic District, Caesar’s Creek for a picnic, and several yearly local festivals such as the Bluesfest, Sauerkraut Festival, Renaissance Festival and “oh”, so much more! A Bit of England in the USA - This is a beautiful English Tudor mansion situated on a tree-lined street of Victorian homes. Well-chosen antiques combined with the innkeepers' personal heirlooms add to the Manor's red oak polished floors, sparkling leaded and stained glass windows and shining silver, make this an elegant retreat. Breakfast is serviced in the formal dining room which is graced with one of the four Rookwood fireplaces in the manor. Fine restaurants, a water park, baseball, golf and theater are close by, as is the river corridor bikeway on the banks of the Great Miami River. Lodging at Historic Spring Valley Location Kickstand Lodging is located on the second level of the historic Mercantile Company building in the friendly village of Spring Valley, Ohio (home of the Potato Festival the first weekend in October each year). We are located on the Little Miami scenic bike trail and we are looking forward to welcoming guest and friends to enjoy our three newly renevated suites. We are within walking distance to the Spartan Spirit (a full service restaurant and bar) which serves lunch and dinner. A laundry mat, the post office and a general store are also within walking distance. Xenia is 6 miles, Bellbrook is 6 miles, and Waynesville is 7 miles away.

Step through the tallest door in town to a warm welcome from the whimsical chef and your hosts, Jackie and Bill Groth. Discuss with them, your preference for a made to order breakfast. It will be prepared in the newly renovated kitchen which is finished with period cabinetry, marble and granite counter-tops, and state-of-the-art appliances. Relax in the privacy of your room, or in the common rooms, which include a parlor, billiard room, and formal dining room. Unwind, meet new friends, play pool, enjoy board games or curl up with a good book. For a change of pace, take time for refreshments in the gazebo and a stroll through the gardens. Influences of both the past and the present are apparent in the guest rooms. Eleven and a half foot ceilings, original hard-wood floors, and decorative woodwork have been preserved. Furnishings and décor are reminiscent of the home's historic past, while modern conveniences have been incorporated in the newly installed bathrooms. Each room is equipped with telephone, cable television, wiring for computer and fax, writing desk, and a private bath.

The original home, a humble prairie style one and a half story house was built at the site of the first grist mill to operate in Fairborn, Ohio. O.B. Armstrong and his wife, Inez, and son, George, owned and operated the mill on West Xenia Drive for many years. Long after the house was first built in 1920 the Armstrongs added a full second story, a small cottage and a carriage house on the property that Inez often referred to as the "Mill Pond Acre" This is a beautiful acre of land located within the city limits and walking distance to all the shops and cafes of Fairborn.
