A gem in a great location

    November 07, 2012

We had a great weeklong stay at Halcyon Suite. The location is ideal, with easy access to downtown and a surprisingly quick commute to the UW and other north Seattle neighborhoods such as Fremont and Ballard. We really enjoyed exploring the wonderful historic Queen Anne neighborhood on foot -- beautiful old homes with lovely gardens, and a couple of the city's best viewpoints are within walking distance. Furnished with a keen eye for quality and detail, the suite is very comfortable and thoughtfully done and has a private deck with amazing views. We stayed here while our own Seattle house was having floors refinished, but would certainly recommend it for vacationers or visitors. The owner is helpful, knowledgeable and charming. It's a hidden gem kind of place, and an excellent value.

Nice studio sized room with lush greenery surrounding a very cozy balcony that we thoroughly enjoyed. Innkeeper provided tasty breakfast that we enjoyed at our leisure. The view from the balcony was a hit for us!

    Wonderful place!

    January 14, 2011

We have been renting the Halcyon Suite for the past 3-years for our in-laws when they come to visit us from Germany. They like this place so much that they will ONLY stay here when they come to Seattle. The location is phenomenal being just 10 minutes from Downtown Seattle, the local bus is just a few steps away allowing you to be able to easily visit Seattle without a car and the hospitality that Gretchen has shown is far above our expectations. Plus, it has one of the best views of the Olympic Mountains across Puget Sound.

    May 12, 2009

My husband was having an art show at Fountainhead Gallery atop Queen Anne Hill! We stayed at The Halcyon Suite last weekend and we had the best time! The room, bathroom, view, patio, breakfast, privacy, landscaping and more were perfect! Gretchen-The Innkeeper was very friendly and gracious and so helpful too! We look forward to our next visit to The Suite and Queen Anne Hill and another art show! Nancy & Mitch Portland, Oregon

    Oh What a view

    October 13, 2008

I was very pleased with our stay at this B & B. The room was bright and clean and there was a beautiful view of the harbor from the deck. I found Gretchen to be very friendly and helpful when questioned on attractions in the area. I liked the fact that there were printed instructions on the table as to where to find things and the B & B is located close to downtown. I would definitely recommend this B & B to a friend.
