Hosts Chris and Jennifer Wagner welcome you to Eld House, a one-bedroom luxury getaway located on the shore of Eld Inlet. This private, secluded retreat is located in the midst of old growth timber, 2.5 acres of manicured landscaping, a reflection pond, and a truly wonderful gravel beach. Whether you seek a quiet, romantic setting or adventure on the beach or water, this can be a day or week to relish. Kayaking, hiking, bicycling, and beach combing are very popular in this rural setting.

Great Spot. Secluded, quiet but not hard to get to. Cabin is perfect for a couple looking for luxury before or after a wilderness trip in the Olympic Peninsula. Bring good coffee and creme if you need it. Olympia is not a gourmet mecca but so what. If it was, it'd be 3x crowded. We came here to get away, look at Evergreen State College. I'll gladly enjoy only moderately tasty food choices in exchange for some clean air, trees, water, nice walks and great views. I'll be back.

Great little cabin! Nice and cozy. We were convinced before we left of the need to come back again.

Our hosts Chris and Jennifer were very friendly and accommodating. We especially appreciated their offer of kayaks that we used right in front of the property.

Me and my wife spent out honeymoon at the Heron house. It was a beautiful cabin, and a beautiful location. It was very relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we will be back again.

My sister and I had the pleasure of spending one night as we were passing through Olympia. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. The log cottage is so homey and well appointed. The cozy bed enveloped us like we were in a cocoon. I highly recommend the Heron House, and plan to stay there again on my next visit to the northwest.

We recently stayed at Heron House, the wonderfully crafted, very cozy log cabin on the same property as The Eld House. We loved the privacy and near seclusion of the location since our jobs entail constantly working very closely with the public. Though Heron House is a Bed and Breakfast, we did not have to meet with anyone at a set time for breakfast nor engage in the usual obligatory chit chat. Awaiting us in the cabin was a beautiful bowl of fruit, gourmet muffins, several cereals, a variety of teas and orange juice. We also appreciated that when we first arrived we could let ourselves into Heron House via the coded lock box that held a key to the front door. The owners living onsite were kind, helpful and available without being stifling. The queen bed in the loft was very comfortable, firm yet soft with a memory foam topper on the mattress. The television with DVD player at the foot of the bed was a nice option to the large flat screen and blu-ray DVD player downstairs. The cabin is meticulously decorated and outfitted with everything you need to be comfortable and at home--lots of mystery paperbacks, a soft throw, pillows, chess set, robes, nice towels, etc. A small gas "woodstove" whose flame is visible adds to the overall coziness of the downstairs. Outside, the grounds are beautiful, carefully manicured and peaceful to wander with various places to sit. Our favorite was the swing that looks out onto the water. We enjoyed the pedal boat that Chris kindly placed on the beach for us. Everything is neat, tidy and well-maintained. You do not have to worry about insect infestation, unclean conditions, or broken, malfunctioning appliances or furniture. Thank you, Chris and Jenn, for sharing Heron House--something so meaningful to you--the very labor of your hands. The cabin, the decor, the breakfast makin's and other amenities, the grounds--all are awesome. We'll be returning. ~ F & J ~

We stayed at The Heron House for 2 nights & love it. The log house was built with perfect details & its location high among the big trees gives it a romantic place for couple to loose themselves in it. We will definitely come back for more R & R time at this house.

My Wife and I booked Heron House (single bedroom Log Cabin on Eld House Property) a week before our trip to PNW. We couldn't of been more pleased with our stay here. The Eld Inlet of Puget Sound is lovely, the Cabin is cozy and beautifully cared for and Chris and Jennifer were gracious hosts. Would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful respite or passing thru this part of the Country. We hope to be back again for another kayak trip to visit the Harbor Seals sunning on the floating swim rafts.

Peaceful, very nice place. Larger than I expected. Nice selection of continental breakfast items. Comfortable bed. Great view. My only complaint would be there is no good mirror for putting on makeup - the one in the bedroom had no lighting. In the bath, one was over the toilet and the other placed on a wall in a way that I had to crouch to use it, plus no good light. Minor complaint, though - the rest of it was lovely - with the sound of the fountains, the view of the inlet ... quiet and peaceful.
