The Walden House Bed and Breakfast in Newport Washington is a family friendly establishment. A great place for a relaxing family vacation or special getaway for just the two of you. You will experience a down-to-earth atmosphere in a country small town setting with many amenities to enjoy and plenty of local and close by activities to choose from. This newly renovated Bed and Breakfast has 8 guest rooms with private baths and each has it's own great theme. We offer breakfast in the dining area or you can choose a breakfast in a basket in your room.The large back yard includes a privately fenced covered 8 person spa and a separate play area for the kids. An established hiking trailhead on the National forest is just 1 block away with the river and boat launch only 3/4 mile from the B&B. Yes, we have high speed wireless internet through out the house.

Newport is nestled in the picturesque North East Mountains of Washington State. This charming community was established in the 1890's close to the Pend Oreille River. It sits on the Washington Idaho border, centrally located for year round fun and adventure.

    On the north end of Spokane at the Division Street "Y" take Hwy 2. Stay right and go about 40 miles until you come to Newport Washington. As you enter Newport the road turns into a one way called Union Street. Get into the left lane and stay on Union until you come to a stop sign at a "T" by the railroad crossing. Turn left and go straight for 3 blocks till you reach Warren Avenue. Turn right on Warren and go 2 1/2 blocks. We are on the left side, a large brown two story house with a large parking lot in front.

  • Directions from airport:
    From Spokane International Airport travel east on I-90 about 3 miles to the Division St/ Newport Highway 2 exit. Turn left and move to the right lane. Continue on Division about 6 miles to the "Y" toward Newport Hwy 2. Stay right and go about 40 miles until you come to Newport Washington. If you cancel on the day of the reservation no refund will be made.

You'll appreciated the beauty and comfort in this common living room. From the rich colors to the vaulted ceiling and picture windows. This lovely room is accented with an large oak chess table, piano, and pellet insert in the fireplace.Relax in this 8 person spa on fenced private patio next to our enclosed deck on the back of the house.
This is a first floor room with king size bed. The yellow gold walls bring a touch of sunshine into the room with a black metal sunburst four poster canopy bed covered in a jungle print comforter just waiting for you to snuggle under. Come experience the feel of an African Safari.This first floor suite with it's king size bed is for those people who love horses. The tapestry bedding and curtains trimmed with horses highlight the soft brown walls. Horse prints around the room add to the very feel. To complete the Equestrian suite you have a private bath with tiled floor-heated jetted tub- corner shower-pedestal sink-hair dryer and plush robes. Come enjoy the peace and tranquility this room offers.
