The Inn at Goose Creek

I highly recommend the Inn at Goose Creek. Each room is unique and all the rooms I saw were charming. It's a delightful place to say. Thank you, Gary & Ylwa, for a lovely weekend.

We drove in from Bellingham and were running very late after our wedding but when we arrived we were welcomed with a wonderful smile. The room was pristine and perfectly decorated. The jetted tub was amazing and we didn't run out of hot water (has happened to us many times at other places we have stayed). In the morning the continental breakfast surpassed our expectations with delicious local fresh fruit. By far the best B&B we have ever stayed at. You will not be disappointed!

We spent two nights in the "I Love Christmas" room and had a wonderful experience. The room was amazing: homey, clean, comfortable, and fun! The atmosphere is amazing! We're staying in the "Ellensburg Rodeo" room next week and can't wait to try out the other rooms!

We enjoyed staying at The Inn at Goose Creek. The owners were so very nice and helpful. We will be stayiing at the Inn for all of our future Ellensburg trips.

This quaint restful place was totally enjoyable. We stopped after a long day of driving and waited for daylight to bring nicer travelling weather. We found clean quiet rooms, unique decor, and the warm reception we received was great. Thank you Gary, the internet WADOT travelling update you provided us was correct and we snuck between the storms. We will do this again.

The Inn at Goose Creek is an oasis admist a jungle of fast-food restaurants and bargain motels near a major interstate junction in Ellensburg. Stepping into the Inn from this concrete jungle is like stepping into a country inn set in the middle of a mountain glen. I wish we'd had more time to enjoy the cushioned rocking chairs, plush couches, reading nooks, DVD collection, and wonderful ambience of the Inn. Our son is attending CWU university, so we'll be making the Inn at Goose Creek our "home away from home" whenever we visit. A real find!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Inn. The room was so cozy and we got a quiet comfortable rest, along with a relaxing jacuzzi bath. We will recommend the Inn to all family and friends and will return there ourselves when in the area again. The Innkeepers are very pleasant and accomodating like no other!

The Inn at Goose Creek was an unexpected treasure in Ellensburg. The rooms are large and comfortable, each one with a unique theme. The hosts are friendly and helpful, even providing an internet cable to make computer access easy. Each night there were little treats like mints or cookies left in the room and we woke each morning to a delicious breakfast. I loved the themed rooms and will definitely return to stay in the "fishing room" when we make a trip to the Yakima River later this spring. Many thanks for a wonderful respite.

We stayed at this wonderfull lodge last night while on a fly fishing visit to the area and stayed in the appropriate room for fly fishers--The sports room. It was so clean, so well decorated and more than comfortable. The hosts were so very friendly--even found the spouse and I had common Skandinavian roots. I loved the decor, the comfort, the cleanliness and how friendly the owner and wife are. We definately will be back.

March 16, 2011 My husband and I stayed at Goose Creek in Ellensburg recently (waiting to pick up our niece from college). It was an unexpected pleasure. The owner is a nice guy who greets you himself and plays some great jazz on the sound system. The room was so well decorated and clean. ( I think the other half is responsible for that) Each one has it's own theme and I think they only have twelve rooms. It feels like a bed and breakfast, not a hotel. It was also very quiet. The breakfast is good enough, fresh fruit, juice, cereal, yogurt, bagels, good coffee etc. We have to go to Ellensburg periodically and will absolutely stay here every time. Oh, and the price was better than the hotels surrounding the Inn at Goose Creek. If you are looking for a comfortable, clean, cozy affordable place to stay you will not be disappointed. To Goose Inn, About two or three years ago my sister and I spent a night at The Goose Inn on our way home from a College road-trip. We stayed in the "Christmas room" and although it was not Christmas time yet we had so much fun in the decorated room! I remember the Christmas the tree, the giant Santa, the carpet, lights, bed, bathroom- everything in the Christmas spirit and of course, the Christmas music. We even watched Christmas movies and had hot coco in our room! I know it's been a long time since our stay but I was thinking about it today and wanted to take the time to thank The Goose Inn for such a wonderful memory! Staying there was hands-down the best place I have ever stayed- I would recomend it to anyone! I wish more places were as creative and friendly and I hope I get the luxury to sometime come back and stay in the Christmas room again! Thank you!

We stayed here after attending a concert at the Gorge. I loved the charm of the "Inn" atmosphere of this B&B. The lobby and hallways were decorated with the same exceptional charm and attention to detail as our room was. Our room was spacious, immaculately clean and very homey in the decor. The service was very friendly. I enjoyed the healthy and delicious options available for breakfast. It was hard to resist the mouthwatering choices of breakfast Danishes they also offered. Next time we attend a concert at the Gorge I would want to make a weekend of it so I could spend more time at this B&B and explore the area more.

My husband and I arrived in Ellensburg very late and were pleased to find a room at The Inn. To our surprise it was the best rest we had on our entire two week trip. The beds were the most comfortable we've ever slept in - we'd like to buy one for our own home. The bathroom was spotlessly clean, well appointed and the lighting was superb. Most motel lighting is rather dim but this bathroom had the best lighting we've ever seen. The carpeted floors were like walking on air and the down comforters were a treat. We can't wait to return to Ellensburg to spend another night at The Inn.

After a long & tiring day of travel, lucked into The Inn at Goose Creek. Gary was so welcoming. We stayed in The Rose Room and it far exceeded our expectations. An absolutely wonderful jacuzzi (long enough to really stretch out), a bed that I wish I had at home. Will absolutely look forward to our next stay.

The Inn at Goose Creek was one of the best hotels we have stayed at. We travel around the Northwest quite a bit, and this was by far the best place we have found. It was very quiet, even though it is located right off I-90. We didn't hear a thing all night. The beds were extremely comfortable and we felt a family atmosphere. Highly recommend!!! We will stay there again!

This place offers the traveller on the road something different and what a delight it was. The themed rooms and atmosphere made this a great place to stay. It was so good it would be worth just going to Ellensburg to stay there. Great hosts and a wonderful experience. This was our last stop in the USA before heading back to Australia - we will quickly forget the many hotels we stayed in over 5 weeks but not this one.

As we needed a place to stay in Ellensburg for a night, and didn't know about the hotels there, we searched the internet. After reading the reviews about" The Inn at Goose Creek", we decided to make reservations. We really liked the Inn, and would stay there again. It's a family owned business, and the owners are extremely nice. We enjoyed staying in the "Sports Room." The room was nicely decorated and very clean. We would recommend "The Inn at Goose Creek" to anyone.

My husband came across this lovely little gem on the internet when we were searching for a place to stay during the 2008 State High School Music Championships at CWU. Eventually our son chose Central for his college education - so we have returned several times! We look forward to our little getaway visits to Ellensberg and the opportunity to relax in the lovely rooms. On our last visit, my sister was traveling through on her way home and I insisted she stop by - at least to see the place! She immediately checked in and our son is now under orders to send his concert schedule to her so she has an excuse to return! But we both agree - one doesnt' really need an excuse to come here - it is literally the "oasis in the desert" Well done Gary and Yiwa!

For a price that is comparable to any of the other motels in Ellensburg, this place beats the all! Comfy rooms (one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in outside of home), clean, warm, inviting; stay here, you will NOT be disappointed and you will never stay anywhere else in Ellensburg again.

We had just one night to stay in Ellensburg during a very long, busy weekend. This was the perfect place to kick back and relax. We stayed there with two other couples, and found all the rooms to be comfortable and cozy, not to mention unique! We had a lot of fun comparing the different themes of each room; our friends jokingly made fun of our ultra-feminine rose room--but we had a big Jacuzzi tub, and they didn't! There is something special about each one of the rooms, and they're VERY reasonably priced, especially considering the big continental breakfast that was included. We look forward to trying out some of the other rooms in the future, and visiting again with the very friendly innkeepers.

Our family, including 4 adult children, stayed overnight to attend a funeral. We enjoyed ourselves very much. It was quiet even though close to I90. We will definitely stay there again. This was so much nicer than the regular, run of the mill motels.

We visit Ellensburg regularly to visit family in Assisted Living and look forward to checking into the Inn at Goose Creek. We enjoy staying in different rooms whimsically decorated to appeal to our particular state of mind at the time. The rooms boast exceptional beds and linens and the bathrooms are roomy. We enjoy our welcome from the owners and appreciate their willingness to provide whole wheat muffins in the breakfast offering. We highly recommend this lovely inn which, by they way, does not resemble an inn from the exterior.

This Inn is unlike any other I have ever experienced. From the moment you enter the door I am awe of the decore and the warmth of the lobby. We are warmly greeted and decide on what world we want to enter. (Each room has its own theme.) I look forward to trying each room. They have thought of every detail to make it an experience unlike any other. This was our second stay and we are planning our third trip in April.

I love this place because it isn't your typical hotel setting. The fact that it has a more initmate number of rooms and setting means that very little noise is heard in the room from inside the Inn. The rooms are very nicely decorated, thematic rooms and I would recommend that this is the only place to stay while in Ellensburg. Very nice continental breakfast in the morning and the owners are very personable.

I really enjoyed staying at the Inn. I found it to be a pleasent change from the regular hotels I stay at. The rooms are very well decorated and very inviting. I do plan to stay there again. Ken Hallett

My husband and I were traveling from Elko, NV on September 23rd, 2009 and had traveled over 600 miles that day, we needed a place to stay and were really delighted to meet Ylwa at the Goose Creek Inn. The room was nicer than more expensive places we have stayed. All I can say is we will return to the Inn at Goose Creek.

We have stayed at the Inn at Goose Creek several times. Each room has been uniquely decorated, very comfortable beds and personal care from, the owners, Gary and Ylwa Mabee. They were very accommodating Labor Day Week-end...from fresh fruit and begals to personal care items. They took great care of us. Thank you Gary and Ylwa - see you next time. Darla

We stayed Saturday night at the Inn at Goose Creek. I booked the rooms for a night’s rest after a concert at the Gorge. We arrived early before normal check in and were able to get our rooms ahead of time. It’s more someone’s home shared with travelers than a hotel; although close to the freeway and other businesses. It’s very quiet and comfortable. We had a wonderful time Gary was very friendly and attentive to our needs. It’s a wonderful stay; we had the Forever Spring and the Memories room. The kids loved the Forever spring with the dual queen beds and the stuffed ducks on the bed. The memories room is filled with antiques and a wonderful king size bed. If you’re ever in Ellensburg I highly recommend staying at the Inn. I know we’ll be back when we visit again. Rick

I spent one night at the Inn this July (09) and have to say I DON'T agree with the majority of reviews on this site. This hotel does NOT fit the category of "B&B" when compared to the various REAL B&Bs' I've stayed in before. Upon entering the large (wide) lobby I immediately had the feeling of someone staring at me and then realized it was life sized figurines placed around the room. Also, stuffed animals (including a huge stuffed dog on the floor) and other rather "faux" antique or "homey" items decorated the lobby. The young woman at the desk was nice, but after she left, the couple/owners were in charge. Their manner was OK, the owner woman rather unfriendly. When I walked to the notably placed easel board to the left of the desk, it's only display was a locally listed house for sale at $450,000....which I thought was odd, expecting an ad for a local restaurant or pub. When I later read the cover sheet greeting in my room, the mystery was solved. The Inn owner, Mr. Mabee, has been a real estate broker (for years) and wanted his guests to feel free to talk to him if they were in the market for property in the Ellensburg area. My room itself, the "Christmas Room," was full of late 80's, early 90's Country decor--including a large Nordic Santa statue over-seeing the bed in one corner of the room. The decor wasn't inexpensive but was not my taste in style; also, the room was far too jammed & cluttered with decorative objects for my preference. I simply like a real B&B, whether that's an old house with some real antiques, or someone's modern house/cottage that is actually a home. The continental breakfast was good. I would NOT stay here when I return to Ellensburg. So, to conclude, since my opinion appears not to be the norm on this Inn, it may just prove that likes are indeed an individual thing. Laurice R.

After driving 5 hours, working 12 hours what a surprise to find a comfortable, quiet place to lay my head and sleep through the night. No noise's, from inside or outside. A plush rug that begs you to be barefoot. I woke up refreshed and relaxed. Thank you for lessening my stress level and giving me a fresh look on the new day. Stephanie

That here were several sport activities in town and the lodging was slim. We were offered some pretty weak places at outrgeous amounts. The Inn was GREAT! We were in the Antique Room...Beautiful! The owners live there..it's their home!

Don't let the appearance or location between typical interstate exit establishments fool you. Once inside the doors the world changes-- charming, inviting, friendly, quiet, clean. A true "oasis in the desert."

This was a total surprise to stumble upon this place, but what a wonderful place to stay. UNBEATABLE! And the owners were so freindly. We are not used to this kind of treatment. What a pleasure.

There is a hotel and fast food strip just of of I-90, second Ellensburg exit. Unexpectedly in the middle of all of the chains and plastic you will find the Inn at Goose Creek. Just step inside the door and you will be transported to a different world. A waterfall calms, there are books to read, videos to watch, TV's that can be closed off if you don't want to change the ambience of your room. There are 10 rooms and each room is decorated differently and charmingly. The room that I stayed in had a gas fireplace and was so cozy and quiet that I didn't want to venture out. The inn keepers are the owners and very friendly and helpful. Parking is plentiful and free. I always stay there when I am in Ellensburg and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a change of pace from commercial hotels and wants an old world experience in the middle of commercialism hell.

This was our second time at the " Inn at Goose Creek." We stay at the inn because we discovered they have the best beds in Ellensburg!. We have been traveling to Ellensburg for 10 years now to see our Dentist 2 -4 times a year, he is a dear friend as well. We've stayed in many hotels in Ellensburg. During our last trip we decided to check out this place. Much to our surprise the price was only a few dollars higher ($10.00). If your looking for the very best nights sleep there is no other place. If you enjoy theme'd rooms this place is a bonus. The Rodeo room is the room we stayed both nights. We'll be back in Nov. To stay again. Cat & Kris

We have stayed at the Inn at Goose Creek for three years, each time in a different room. Each visit has been exceedingly pleasant. The rooms are quiet and clean, great view of the hills outside of town. We will come back to try a different room next year.

My mother and I stayed twice, and each time we felt so pampered. Gary & Ylwa are perfect hosts, making sure we had everything we needed. We will not hesitate to recommend their Inn to others!

I have gone to the Inn for the past several years in October to celebrate my birthday. I have never been disappointed. I always go away refreshed. Sweet.

During previous trips to Ellensburg, we had stayed at one of the many chain motels in town, but had noticed this inn back off the road a bit and decided to try it on our next visit. Plainly put, we will not stay anywhere else in Ellensburg if at all possible. Old country charm permeates the entire inn, the common sitting area beckons one to catch a nap in the afternoon rays. Our room (English Ivy, although we coined it The Frog Suite in honor of the many residents) was as comfortable, clean and tastefully appointed as any I have seen around the country. The beds were very roomy & comfortable and the goose down comforters are a very nice touch. Gary & Ylwa were so friendly and gracious, we were made to feels like old friends who had come to visit in their home. If you can’t relax here, you are too tightly wrapped.

We love our stay each year for the Jazz in the Valley weekend! Healthy breakfast, warm atmosphere and very comfortable bed!! It is like going upstairs to our own bedroom! Wonderful hospitality.

Expecting a dreary hotel off the side of the highway, I was pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness and amount of comfort provided by my room. Loved my firm mattress and great pillows! I will return when I visit my daughter in Ellensburg.

We found the Inn by accident. When we walked in we felt we had come home. Very different from the chain Motels we had been staying in. We'll be back.

Loved the picket fence furniture and lovely wallpaper, as well as the other themed rooms from which to choose. The room was very comfortable as well as beautiful. Also thought the breakfast was delicious! Definitely would stay there again!

Our room was charming; consistent with description on website. Not a great value but was a pleasant stay. Don't expect much in the way of breakfast. It is consistent with what is available at a Holiday Inn Express. For me, the breakfast is often a highlight at a B&B. Not so at this Inn.

Up to this point on our holiday, we were a little disillusioned, but this beautiful hotel and owner made up for it quickly. The rodeo room was beautiful with the most comfortable bed we've ever experienced in a hotel, and the city of Ellensburg is beautifully restored. We were thrilled with the whole experience.

It is a European B & B, each room is decorated in a different theme - not Hollywood plastic but real European charm - The prices are moderate but the service is excellent, "where they remember and call your name"

I appreciated the beautiful decor in this charming B&B. Houses are somewhat confining, but the Inn at Goose Creek has large rooms, they are quiet and beautifully decorated. The fresh ground coffee was wonderful and we enjoyed Gary's hospitality the best of all.

We have had the pleasure of staying at the Inn many times during our visit to the Ellensburg area. Our last visit was a week's stay and it was truly a home away from home. The atmosphere is inviting and we're looking forward to another stay in July for another full week! High recommended.

My February stay for the Spirit of the West Cowboy Gathering improved the experience immeasurably. The welcome warm, the bed comfortable, the decor exceptional, the breakfast conversation with other guests great. The only downside was the jacuzzi pump system needing a good cleaning and jets needed some repair. The rest of the experience more than made up for that.

This place was amazing. It was very very quiet, safe, and relaxing. The owners were very nice and the rooms were very incredible to look at. If you are looking for a quiet respectful, relaxing place to go and clear your mind or to even spend with a loved one I would definitely recommend.

We have stayed at The Inn at Goose Creek twice on our way to Seattle and plan to make it a frequent getaway. It has the feel of a luxurious bed and breakfast/ lodge at very affordable prices. It was a treat to have real goose down comforters, tastefully decorated rooms, and a delicious continental breakfast. The owners are gracious and welcoming and make you feel like a guest in their home.

The common areas of this inn are so gorgeous, dark wood accents, water fountains, comfy chairs! The breakfast area is sunny and full of live plants which gives a freshness to the room that fake plants just can't duplicate. We loved our "Christmas Room", twinkle lights, evergreen garlands, and a wine-colored, velvet comforter on a huge, four post bed... absolutely beautiful. My only complaint, is that the food was not really bed and breakfast standard. It was the same you find at a decent hotel, breads, cereals, fresh fruit. There wasn't really anything for diabetics (or dieters to eat), everything was very sugary. It would have been nice if they had actually cooked an egg or potato dish for guests to sample.

All the previous reviews are certainly everything The Inn is all about. Even if you were planning on staying outside of Ellensburg, change your plans and go the extra miles to stay here. Us 'over 60' sisters stayed in the 'little girls' room and truly felt like children again!! Would love to come back and stay in other rooms. The host was a lot of fun and a great sense of humor!

Don't be fooled by the atypical location of this inn. A unique, creative alternative to motels. The rooms are sparkling clean and beautifully decorated, each differently. Our breakfast was healthy and plentiful. The host Gary is quite unique in his own right. Will definitely stay again.

This is a delightful hotel. It's decorated so tastefully and the hosts could not be more gracious.

There is no reason to look further if you need to stay overnight in Ellensburg. Totally by accident we discovered the Inn at Goose Creek. From the outside the inn is pleasant if somewhat nondescript - however, upon entering you are in a different world. The the inn keepers/owners Gary and Ylwa are classics in their own right, making us feel truly welcome. Now the rooms, we toured several of them the morning we were checking out, and each has it's own design theme. We stayed in the Victorian. Beautifully decorated, roomy, huge bed, inlaid carpet, Jacuzzi tub. The breakfast was buffet style with fresh fruit and cinnamon rolls - 10 steps above a chain motel "breakfast." The place was spotless, a great value, comfortable, relaxing, a well kept secret.

We have stayed here three times. The first time we found it by accident and stayed in their "Christmas Room". The themes in this room were a little overwhelming, although the room itself was excellent. The second two times we stayed in the "Homespun Room" which is much more to our taste and very nicely furnished. They have internet access and there is a desk in the room where I could comfortably do some work. The price, comfort of beds, very good shower and bath with huge flow of hot water, breakfast,... leave no room for criticism. Ellensberg is a very pleasant town in good scenery.

The Inn at Goose Creek is simply the best place to stay. They have 10 themed rooms and the beds are to die for. We enjoy the Rodeo Room or Antique Room...the custom bedding and oversized beds ensure a great night's sleep. Gary and Ylwa are wonderful hosts and they make us feel like family every time we visit. You won't find a better place to stay anywhere! 5 Star Inn located in Historic Ellensburg, Wasington.
