The Blue Goose Inn
-
The Blue Goose Inn, your home away from home when visiting beautiful Whidbey Island. Set in side by side 1880's Victorian homes, The Blue Goose Inn B&B provides spacious rooms, great views, scrumptious breakfast, all within walking distance of the waterfront.
The Blue Goose Inn is set in two historic homes, and this one is the John and Jane Kineth House, built in 1887. With all original woodwork, softwood floors, high ceilings and even the original windows, this home is a beautiful example of Italianate architecture.
The historic Coupe-Gillespie house was built in 1891. It is now one of the two gracious homes that make up The Blue Goose Inn. The rooms in this house are the Quarterdeck Suite (on the ground floor), the Chart Room, and the Captain's Suite. All have private baths, and windows on the front of the house looking out to Penn Cove.
The central garden area between the two homes of The Blue Goose Inn provide the perfect spot for an afternoon glass of wine or a morning cup of coffee. Enjoy watching the gold finches at the feeders, or the view of Mt. Baker across Penn Cove. A perfect place to relax and enjoy!
Enjoy a cup of tea or glass of wine in our lovely front parlor. Filled with beautiful antiques, an 1895 pump organ, and a marbleized stone fireplace, this room is a step back in time.
Breakfast is served each morning on the sun porch, where you'll enjoy views of the garden and Mt. Baker. Watch the goldfinches at the bird feeders, or snap a photo of the deer wandering by!
The Mt. Baker Suite is furnished with a pillow top king size bed and lovely antiques throughout. Enjoy the view of Mt. Baker as you wake each morning. Private bath with jacuzzi tub, and many amenities.
Relax in the 2-person jacuzzi tub in the Mt. Baker Suite.
The Penn Cove Suite is upstairs on the front of the Kineth House. You'll enjoy lots of natural light from the bay windows looking out to Penn Cove and Mt Baker.
The Penn Cove Suite has this beautiful antique double pedestal sink, along with a 6' claw foot tub and shower. The fixtures are from 1904 and were probably original to the home!
The Captain's Suite is upstairs on the NE corner of the Coupe-Gillespie House. It has a king size bed, large private bath with tub and hand held shower, and many amenities including Cable TV, free WIFI, coffee maker and more.
The Quarterdeck Suite in the Coupe-Gillespie House is a spacious ground floor unit with high ceilings, sunny bay window, queen bed, and private bath with double-head stall shower.
The Bell Tower Room - One of our most popular, this cozy room has a pillow top queen size bed, private bath with claw foot tub and shower, and a sitting area in front of a propane fireplace. The room is bright and sunny, and provides a wonderful sense of home.
1905 Coupeville Wharf. Enjoy a stroll down to the picturesque town of Coupeville with it's historic wharf and many original buildings. Coupeville has many wonderful shops, galleries and restaurants, and is the heart of Ebey's Landing National Historic Reserve.
Be sure to take time for a walk on beautiful Ebey's Landing. Facing west, this is a great spot to watch to eagles, ospreys, whales, and of course, sunsets!

Where is Coupeville? It a little town just south of Oak Harbor off the main road a couple of blocks. I wanted an experience for my wife's 65 birthday, so we headed for Coupeville and towards the Blue Goose after viewing Mt Vernon's wonderful Tulips fields. We were not disappointed in the colorful gander. Its and its adjoining sister are truly magnificent examples of victorian housing and are filled with comfortable antique furnishings. Its quiet and the breakfast tasty and substantial. Becky and Dave gave us the history of the buildings and are great hosts. Bob and Cynthia Bateman.

My husband and I stayed at the Blue Goose Inn for a mini vacation on Whidbey Island. Becky and David were perfect hosts and took great care to show us around our room and make us feel comfortable. Our room was cozy (Bell Tower Room) but spacious and came with delicious cookies. Breakfast was also phenomenal. We do plan on staying here again in the future.

We had a lovely stay in the Bell Tower Room at the Blue Goose Inn at Coupeville, WA. The host and hostess were at our service whenever needed, but left us to do our own thing. Becky fixed delicious breakfasts using recipes that I had never had before. I loved it. We had plenty to eat plus the coffee and tea with home made cookies or dessert bread were available whenever we wanted to partake. We loved hearing the bells ring on the hour from the bell tower at the church across the street. Each bedroom upstairs had its own private bathroom, which was also a good size. However, the rooms in the house we stayed in were upstairs and the bath was a wonderful antique claw foot tub which would be difficult for someone with a disability. There are two houses, I don't know if some of the rooms were more accessible in the other house.....so ask when you call. I would gladly return for a stay in the Bell Tower Room, it was spacious with a comfy bed. Plenty of electric outlets and free wifi. Dave and Becky make you feel very welcome.

4.4 out of 5Excellent B&B on Whidbey Island
February 11, 2013
I stayed at this B&B for a writing workshop in early January for five days. I have to say it is the best B&B experience I have had so far – and we’ve stayed in several. The new owners, as well as the food, were lovely. They went out of their way to accommodate my dietary restrictions (which can be daunting - no egg, dairy, wheat, soy) and the results were tasty! The room was great, the bed comfortable and the claw-foot tub was a wonderful experience. The only thing that might have improved the stay was having sunny weather instead of clouds and wind, but I suppose that can't be helped :) So, thank you for a wonderful stay and I will definitely be going back.
5 out of 5A WONDERFUL B&B
October 09, 2012
This is a wonderful B&B in a beautiful little town! You walk into a piece of history and you can feel the quiet and serenity of 120 years. Marty is a very gracious host and we felt right at home. From sitting in the parlor reading a book to relaxing in a huge clawfoot bathrub to a bed that was plush and just right. We had a great time!
5 out of 5Beautiful garden and what was the name of that flower
October 07, 2012
My husband and I stayed at this B&B for three nights. From the first moment that I talked to Sue on the phone to make the reservations I knew this was a winner. My opinion never changed during our stay. Sue and Marty are very warm and friendly inn keepers. The obviously enjoy their work. Our room was large and inviting and very clean. Breakfast on the sunporch was very good and just enough. The B&B is an easy walk to the downtown with its many shops and great restaurants and if you don't want to walk the 3 blocks down hill there is a great Italian place across the street. There is a large yard between the two houses with many trees, bushes and flowers. Marty and I had quit a discussion about the names of the flowers. Coupeville is right in the middle of Whitbey Island so any directions is easy. Well worth your stay. Hope to be able to join them again.

The inn was very quiet, within walking distance of downtown shops and the breakfast of scones and quiche was delicious. We would choose to stay there again.
