Redfern Farm BnB on Puget Island
Redfern Farm is located on Puget Island,in the heart of the lower Columbia River estuary, conveniently located for day tripping to both Mt. St. Helens and the Pacific coast. Puget Island is on the national heritage canoe trail, the Lewis and Clark trail, and is listed on the national bicycle trail. There's a convenient bridge to historic Cathlamet -- where there's shopping, a golf course,a full service marina, and the Julia Butler Hanson Historic House.Or, you can enjoy the funky ferry to Westport, Oregon and drive on to Astoria. It's about a 2-hour drive from either Portland, Oregon or Olympia, Washington. Redfern Farm has 20 acres of pasture for cows, goats and wild things. The farm house, built in the 40's, has two second story guest rooms, Each has a private bath and is decorated in an eclectic mix of old and new. The deck overlooks the country garden, in summer many bird species make it their home. At breakfast, the view from the dining room may include river freighters passing by on the shipping channel.

From Cathlamet cross Iron bridge, 1 mile to little bridge, cross bridge, make hard right (W Birnie Slough RD) 1 mile to Cross Dike, left turn, 1 mile. - Directions from airport:
Portland, OR (PDX) Take Hwy 205 North, merges into I-5 to Longview/Kelso. Take exit to Hwy 4 West (sign reads To Beach Cities). Follow Hwy 4 through Longview to Cathlamet.
