Briar Rose Inn Bed and Breakfast is a 1908 Craftsman style home listed on the Local Historic Register. We're located in the heart of historic downtown Vancouver, Washington - just 15 minutes from the Portland International Airport, 10 blocks from the Vancouver Amtrak station, walking distance to Hilton Convention Center, Esther Short Park, Farmer's Market, Clark County Court House, Officer's Row and many shops & restaurants! You will appreciate the convenience of walking in the neighborhood as you set out for dinner, a local brewpub or the ever popular Starbucks. The Inn can be your headquarters for exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest which includes the metro Portland area, the Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Hood, Mt. Saint Helens or the Pacific Ocean. The Briar Rose Inn is available for special events, meetings, reunions, seminars and retreats. When you visit the Briar Rose Inn you will relax and enjoy the architecture and charm of a historic home built in 1908 when Vancouver was a small town. You will appreciate the design of a 100 year old home which has been renovated while diligently retaining the original detail with modern updates. Built by a couple who had five children, the evidence of a family home is still apparent today for you will feel instantly "at home." The inn evokes memories of childhood as many of the guests at the Briar Rose Inn tell stories of their own homes, or grandparents homes, as they relive their favorite memories. The squeaky stairs are frequently commented upon as folks recall a time when life was simple and stairs squeaked!

    What a great B&B!

    August 25, 2011

Briar Rose was the last of five B&Bs we stayed at on our recent Pacific Coast vacation. Ted and Sallie were great hosts, friendly, warm and fun. The home is gorgeous, our room was large and beautifully decorated, very comfortable with a large bath. Everything about this home is beautifully done, inside and out. Ted's breakfast was superb, and we had a wonderful visit with him and the other table guests the one morning we were there. We wish we had been able to stay longer to enjoy more of the inn and Vancouver. Perhaps we'll return one day and would definitely stay here again. We would highly recommend this inn over any other.

    Lovely inn, great owners

    May 01, 2011

I enjoyed my stay at Briar Rose Inn. It is a gorgeous old classic home & I was astounded at the beautiful and detailed work the owners have personally done to make this property so beautiful. The inkeeper/owners were wonderful, helpful and very accommodating. I was amazed at their kind, above-and-beyond attitude & I greatly appreciated it. Parking was super easy. Downtown Vancouver is very pleasant as well as easy to get to--it's mere minutes from PDX airport. On weekends there is a nice farmer's market and great summer events in Esther Short Park just a few blocks away. I so wish I had remained at Briar Rose Inn for my 10 day stay instead of transferring to a different so-called "highly rated" inn in Portland (PWH), where the customer is apparently always wrong & where I felt disrespected & abused. It was quite an opposite experience from the warmth & kindness I enjoyed at Briar Rose Inn. I would definitely recommend Briar Rose Inn. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Beautiful home, comfortable and a great location.

    July 02, 2010

We've stayed at Briar Rose two years in a row. The owner's have done a fantastic job of restoring this beautiful home. The accommodations are very comfortable, they serve a lovely full breakfast, and the location is quiet and convenient. If you're there on a Saturday, you can walk to the farmers market at Esther Short Park (about two blocks) It's also a short walk to downtown shops and the very hospitable Java House in a little complex with an art exhibit.

    Wonderful stay!

    April 04, 2010

Forget the big box chains and stay local when in the Portland Metro area. Briar Rose Inn is a meticulously maintained B&B 15 minutes from downtown Portland in Vancouver Washington. Sallie and Ted are gracious and welcoming. I've stayed 3 times now and will come back again for Ted's wonderful biscuits!
