My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Cameo Heights. Our room was elegant, clean and the linens were exceptional. We stayed two nights and dined both nights at the in house restaurant "The Vine" which was absolutely delicious! The morning breakfast was prepared by the owner Deanne which was also delightful with an abundance of fresh fruit. This Bed and Breakfast is definitely a 5 star experience!
Hello, we are so grateful for your review. You mention cleanliness, elegance, wonderful linens, and delicious foods. The words are certainly 5 star but the grade was not quite 5 star? I suppose you are like many guests who seem reluctant to mark 5 star because it pretends perfection and perfection is not possible. That may be true but it doesn't diminish our quest for it!

Cameo Heights Mansion is such a beautiful place. Everything you need is at the mansion. They have thought of every detail. We highly recommend ordering the basket dinner. Beautifully arranged full 4 course dinner that you can eat on the lawn , your room, or on the deck. We stayed in the Italian room and the view was gorgeous. They have a pool and fire pit. We sat out under the stars for hours. Do not miss the breakfast. Each morning was a lovely surprise of wonderful, tasty food. The innkeepers are a great couple that welcomes their guest.
Thank you for your kind review! We are gratified to hear your review of the basket dinner. Many have said that to call it a "basket dinner" is an understatement. It makes it sound more like a picnic than a dinner. It really is both--an elegant 4 course dinner served in a basket that you can enjoy as a picnic any where you choose to eat it.

I thought the costs of inn and especially the meal was excessive. The meal was good, but slow (2+ hours) and a cost of $200 (for two). The atmosphere was very nice and the view terrific. Quality of the food was very good. As far as the Mansion itself was magnificently decorated and the stay was very pleasant and relaxing. I was a little bit turned off by all of pentalty costs if you had to cancel your reservations, checked out late etc, but guess with the costs and size of Mansion it is necessary. This was our 2nd stay at Cameo Heights and I attend on returning. It is a special place and very relaxing and the hosts are very nice and accomodating.
Let me attempt to respond to this delightful guest. I can empathize with him. I, too, love to go and do expensive things, cheaply. And when I can't, I am frustrated. But I am not happy when the experience is regular and not special. I am thrilled when we have a singular experience. I understand now, if I didn't then, then somehow the owners need to be compensated for the luxurious ambiance that I find so regally enjoyable. Producing the ultra high quality lodging and dining experience is a very expensive operation. The differences can be subtle, but they are often quite costly. First, the building must be well constructed and beautifully decorated. The groceries and products you use will necessarily be of the highest quality. The building and yards need to be meticulously clean and well maintained, as if they were just built yesterday, in spite of the fact that people who don’t own the place are walking in with suit cases, boxes of wine which they drink in their rooms, bikes, etc, up and down stairways , though the doorways, and into the suites. Yet, when it is your turn to walk in, you expect to see no scratches, dings, stained carpets, or even a speck of dust under the cabinets or beds. We strive to produce that exactly that kind of perfect experience. But guests have to understand that there is a very significant cost associated with creating that kind of experience, day in and day out. I can’t think of a better way to say it than, “If you want good clean oats, you have to pay the price. But if you can be happy with oats that have already been through the horse, that comes quite a bit cheaper.” Many of these kinds of costs associated with high quality ambiance are fixed costs that have to be built into the price. Thus we can’t exactly say why x and y cost as much as they do, but we can say that if we didn’t charge what we do, we would soon be out of business. That’s why there are so few places that truly specialize in the highest quality—it just costs too much. The decision you must make as a future guest is whether you will appreciate the extra level of amenities and services enough to be willing to pay a bit more. Even though our guest here is disappointed in the price, notice that he is already booking his next stay. When all things are known, it is when we go cheap that we find the poorest value. Quality is usually never cheap but, though expensive, it can be a very good value. We accept the fact that our offering here at Cameo Heights Manson is not cheap, but we feel, and the great preponderance of guests seem to substantiate that, a stay at Cameo Heights Mansion, and dinner at The Vine, is a great value.

We spent our 20 year anniversary at Cameo Heights Mansion and had the most wonderful, relaxing weekend. The food was spectacular. The service and accommodations were excellent. I highly recommend this to any couple looking to have a romantic get away.

Everything is done so that we feel at ease and better than at home. Every detail has been studied, the staff is very nice and never too much. Luxury seems natural. "The" place to stay for a couple wishing to spend some romantic days. We stayed only one night... it was not enough! People learning hotel management should come and watch the way things are done there. A very good lesson. Keep on doing like this. We enjoyed it very much and we are quite hard to get satisfied.
You have been so kind in writing this review. We do not see ourselves as experts in the hospitality business. We merely try to implement what we would expect when we travel. So much of what we do has roots in something we have experienced elsewhere and then attempted to emulate it by personalizing it to our business and improving upon it wherever possible. That you acknowledge our efforts favorable is very gratifying.

Cameo Heights would appear to sit "in the middle of Nowhere" but it is an absolutely beautiful place with amazing views and is close to wine-tasting areas. The rooms are unique and gorgeous and the dinner we had was so good and the chef is so creative. Would highly recommend this B&B!

Our only complaint from the weekend was that the pool cleaning ate up too large a portion of the day on one of the days of our stay - which also happened to be the only day we spent by the pool. Dinner was exceptional (5-courses) and an incredible value - each complimentary was far above what we had anticipated and different each day (we stayed three nights). Incredibly kind and gracious staff, excellent walk-though of the grounds and just all-around kind and genial people. Beautiful setting, very romantic - love the air-jetted tubs in each suite. We'll definitely be back and recommend to our friends and family.
I think I remember the experience. It is always difficult to find the right moment to do the deep cleaning things but they do have to cleaned. We are sorry it was on your watch. If you will call me we would be glad to give you a discount on your next stay to compensate you for the inconvenience.

We celebrated our 10 year anniversary here and no detail was missed in our stay. We loved being surprised with a rose and chocolates in our room as we checked in. This place is the ultimate relaxation destination. There are things to do such as roasting smores in the firepit, watching a movie in their theatre room, swimming and walking around the orchards or you can just relax and sit by the pool all day. The staff was wonderful and by far the food was the best thing about this place. Absolutely delicious food probably the best we have ever had!
Thank you taking time to post a review. Many of our guests seem to be almost surprised when they find out how good the food really is. I suppose it is normal to think that it is just too good of luck to find great hospitality, accommodations, and then dining all in the same place. But luckily for us, as this guest and others seem to imply, you actually can find that at Cameo Heights Mansion. As to the staff, they truly are the ones that make it all happen. To them, we are most indebted and grateful.

We currently are serving these as part of a seven course dinner featuring traditional fine dining. Our chef Nathan Carlson is unusually gifted in creating cuisine that is as tasty and creative as it is beautiful. We also have a an alcohol permit to sell wine and beers. Accordingly, we have a large inventory of notable wines from Walla Walla and surrounding area, as well as Ice Harbour micro-brewed beers.
