Very welcoming hostess. We stayed 4 nights and had a new menu each morning and always delicious. JoAnn is an outstanding chef, conversationalist, decorator. The extra touches really made this the best B&B we've stayed in. We were conveniently located to everything Seattle has to offer. The views from English Tudor View were fabulous. I cannot say enough about this place. If we are ever in Seattle again I'll be returning here. -VS

Located on Mercer Island, this B&B is very convenient to downtown Seattle (less than 10 minutes) without the parking/congestion problems of the City. In fact, Mercer Island is beautiful, and this home is located in a pleasant neighborhood immediately adjacent to a walking trail that will take you to the town of Mercer Island or to the shore of Lake Washington. JoAnn has run the B&B off-and-on for 15+ years since she retired from operating a specialty cookie business in Seattle with her late husband. She still says she is happiest when she is in her kitchen, and the delicious (and substantial) breakfasts she cooks reflect this. The six hens she has in her backyard provide daily fresh eggs for her creations. She was very friendly and helpful to us and her other guest in suggesting places to see and things to do in the area. The room we stayed in (the King Suite) was very spacious with a view through the trees to the water. The house is not fancy but is very well kept and JoAnn's son Darrell (an electrical contractor) clearly keeps things in good working order. Internet access was good and reliable. As with many B&B's, the host often determines how much you enjoy the accommodations, and we could not have felt more welcomed by JoAnn. I would recommend this B&B without qualification.
Our largest room features views of the mountains, lake, and park next door. Our furnishings include a comfortable king-sized bed, large sofa and wing back chairs. Internet access is always available for checking your email, skyping with your family or attending to business. The King Suite features a private bath with both a tub and shower.
Nightly Rate: $160 - $160
Our charming queen suite sleeps two in an antique brass bed with queen-sized mattress. Wake up to a view of the garden and old-growth trees out the bedroom’s window. An adjacent sitting room is great for enjoying a view of Lake Washington, curling up in comfortable chairs while reading a book from the library, or watching television. A private bathroom is adjacent.
Nightly Rate: $145 - $145
