Best B&B I've ever stayed at hands down. Nice change from the old lady decor of the typical b&bs. The decor is so beautifully done, it looks even better in person. The quality of the craftsmanship can be seen and felt throughout the entire home. Found myself just staring a the walls sometimes in amazement. I've stayed at other b&bs in Leavenworth that were twice as expensive and not as nice as this one. Don and Joyce are climbers too which was the icing on the cake! They really know not only the hot spots but the lay of the land. Thanks for everything. Sharifa

My daughters and I had the pleasure this last Sunday to spend a night here. It was a very spontaneous decision, but we were so surprised when there was a last minute cancelation and we got a chance to see the Ptarmigan B&B! Don and Joyce are the perfect hosts, and the house is simply charming. The rooms are comfortable, quiet even with a full house, and the breakfast in the morning was spectacular. I will definitely be coming back soon! Thanks Don and Joyce!

My husband and I booked a room here for our anniversary and were not disappointed. The b&b was not typical, but in a good way. We were the only guests (it wasthe middle of the week) and we sat on the back patio in the comfy Adirondack chairs sipping cold iced tea. The night was quiet, peaceful and relaxing. We are definitely coming back!!

The entire building is built in the style of a beautiful rustic lodge by the owners Don and Joyce. Don is a skilled craftsman and taped into his talent without reservation when constructing this beautiful building. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated. They have excellent beds, large tiled showers, fireplaces, and at least two of the three rooms have tubs with jets. It was the middle of the summer when we visited so we were glad the rooms each have efficient AC units. The breakfast was exceptional. Joyce makes her own famous granola (she even shared the recipe with us) and excellent homemade baked goods. Her passion for baking was evident each day. Throughout the week we were greeted with the smell of baking and enjoyed foods including cinnamon rolls, scones, muffins, yogurt, granola, french toast, good coffee, fruits and fresh berries. A U-Pick family farm exists just down the road and the berries came fresh from the farm. During the days we took hikes in the enchantments, traveled into Leavenworth, and enjoyed the comfort of time off at the bed and breakfast. In the evenings we enjoyed relaxing with warm drinks and company around a fire outside. The hiking in the area is some of the best in the World. The Ptarmigan Bed and Breakfast is located along icicle creek and only a few short miles from the most beautiful hiking destinations in the US. The Enchantment Lakes, Icicle Creek, Snow Lakes, Colchuck Lake, Asgaard Pass, and Stuart Lake areas are stunning! Don and Joyce are both avid outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy climbing and hiking amongst other things and are happy to talk with you about local hiking destinations. We plan on returning in the future! ps. While we were there they were preparing for the arrival of a new hot tub in the backyard!

If you want a place to stay with quality & design & comfort, this is the place for you. If you can't handle the typical, old-fashion, practical B&B with those ugly bedding and carpet with a weird smell, then Ptarmigan B&B is the place for you with its rustic, calming, and beautifully decorated home. It offers Tazo tea & coffee 24/7 with a nice view of the mountain nature. The only thing is if you are a party of more than two, it can be difficult. Each room only pertains to two people, and if you have three, you'll have to get two rooms. If that isn't a problem for you, then this place is as lovely as the picture seems :) Owners are friendly and helpful and caring and open to conversations and advices on trips around the area. You won't be bored :)
