Wonderful old house, fantastic large front porch, secluded hot tub tucked away in the back garden. When we arrived there was a deer in the driveway. Jill was away but Charles was very helpful and made a great breakfast. The 2nd morning we had to catch a ferry early so they fixed us a fantastic "picnic" breakfast that was ready for us the next morning in the guest fridge. Charles recommended restaurants and even called for reservations. He also gave us great advice about hiking at Mt. Constitution. We had a wonderful time.

My boyfriend and I checked in for a recuperation weekend at the Kangaroo House. We checked out two days later as fiances! We stayed in the Nuthatch Room which was adorable and comfortable and warm. Jill and Charles were fabulous hosts and created two really delicious breakfasts while we were there. We spent our evenings reading, drinking cocoa, and playing scrabble by the fireplace and enjoying the awesome garden hot tub. So relaxing. Just what we needed.

My wife and I had the pleasure to stay here recently and were very happy. Charles and Jill are very gracious hosts and there inn is beautiful. One evening, instead of going out to a restaurant, we bought grocery store sandwiches, salads, and wine. We headed just north of the inn and ate dinner alone on the beach watching the most beautiful sunset ever. Will certainly stay there again.

We'd planned to stay two nights, but when my husband got home and said he wanted to go RIGHT NOW, Charles was more than willing to accommodate us for a third. The rooms (we ended up staying in two) were beautiful and quiet for sleeping, the beds comfortable, and the bathrooms we sparkling clean. I would've been happy with just that, but breakfast at KH is amazing--we had all sorts of fresh, homemade, delicious food! Pancakes, Alsatian roastie, a root-vegetable fritatta-thing--everything fabulous and made with attention to detail that borders on meticulous. Furthermore, Charles and Jill are warm, welcoming, and gracious. They're great conversationalists as well as top-notch gardeners and chefs. Truly lovely people; we can't wait to come back!

Gracious host, close by if we needed anything but never in the way. Seemed knowledgeable about the island, a good source of information for first-timers. Breakfasts were delicious!

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Kangaroo House B&B. We stayed in the Goldfinch Room which was very classy and comfortable. The innkeeper, Charles, was a great asset with wonderful suggestions on where to dine and what to do! Thank you Charles for the great recommendations! We enjoyed chatting with him and learning a bit about he and his wife and the Island. Breakfast was delicious and easily enough to keep you full and happy through until dinner! And it was nice to have a little table for 2 to ourselves. Overall we had a great time! I'd recommend the Kangaroo House to anyone!

This was our first time to a B&B, didn't know what to expect. We had fun and a good stay. Highly recommend it.

The host was warm and friendly. He made us feel at home and welcome. The room was comfortable but quaint in a really enjoyable way. This is one of the reasons I like a B & B, it is never the same. The breakfast was extraordinary. I took pictures on my cell phone and emailed to my friends. It tasted even better than it looked. I would definitely stay again. Only suggestion - coffee was not available until 8 am and I am one who likes coffee early when I awake.

The Kangaroo House had so much character and our stay was amazing. The room was beautiful and breakfast the next morning was so much more than we exected, even after reading the rave reviews. We stayed in the dining room after the plates had been cleared to exchange stories with the other guests and hear some history on the Kangroo House and its past occupants :)

Wow! This is where you want to stay when visiting Orcas Island. My boyfriend and I stayed there for 3 nights and we had the most relaxing, renewing, enjoyable experience- both on the island and at the Kangaroo House. Charles, the owner, made some of the best breakfasts I've ever had. "Cloud cakes" are sooo good, not to mention his homemade muffins, fresh fruit, homemade granola, home-cured bacon, healthy quiches- all were fantastic! Charles was also very helpful and provided a lot of good, local tips as to where to eat (we ate a lot of our trip!), what to see, etc. The rooms were very nice, clean and welcoming and our best evening there was spent drinking wine by the fireplace. I really can't say enough good things about this place. I highly recommend this B&B- one of the best out there.

We spent 3 nights in Oct, 2009. Lovely room and lovely Bungalow with gorgeous grounds. Delicious breakfasts Charles was an excellent host and helped my wife to come up with ski poles to help with the steep hike from Mountain Lake to Constituion Peak
