The Hotel Coolidge is an old hotel, with rooms that are dated. We have stayed here in the past and like the charm of itl. The rooms are very basic, but comfortable. The staff is very nice and will help you when needed. There is a little coffee shop in the lobby, so you can have a bite to eat in the morning. The town has several good restaurants, and is interesting to walk around in and explore.

The location in downtown White River Junction is excellent. My grandchildren love to walk around the town looking at and waiting for trains. Our room was freezing; later I learned the heat had not been turned on; there was an electric heater in the room, which we used in the morning. Breakfast next door was convenient.
Thanks for staying with us!

This historic hotel is a good value and has a downtown location making it easy to walk to places. The hotel has a private parking lot in the rear.

Wonderful traditional old school hotel with friendly, responsive staff and semi-grand stairwells. Upstairs halls reminded us slightly of "The Shining". The room was fine, but the mattress in 224 was a little firm for the lady's tastes. The shower was fantastic with a head that rotates, very nice! Cleanliness is fine; owners and staff obviously takes pride in the place. Limited selection of restaurants and bars directly in White River Junction. We did not eat at the hotel (breakfast only is served) so I hedged a bit on the "dining" rating....
Thanks for staying with us!

Stayed here with my mom while attending a cooking class at King Arthur flour. It was a bargain at $100 for a connecting room. We each had a double bed room connected by a bathroom. The hotel is old and full of history. very clem, we will stay here again!

Step into the Hotel Coolidge and enter a bygone era rich with history, warmth and comfort. For us, this was the perfect beginning to our vacation in Vermont. The hotel personnel are friendly + helpful and we had a beautiful, relaxing stay.

The perfect location if you're visiting Vermont by train - the Amtrak station is across the street. The hotel is large, well maintained, and a little spooky, but in a good way. Staff is efficient, but generally indifferent (they don't greet you, smile, or even look up when you come in, but things are ready for you and operate smoothly enough). The rooms are furnished with antiques, are huge, clean, and the A/C units are fine. Trains go by several times a day, which may annoy you if you're not used to it (I live next to a commuter station, so I am). Rent a car from Enterprise - they're close, friendly, and accommodating (although they only work banker's hours, which seemed typical for Vermont). Eat at Elixirs or the BBQ place next door (very friendly and good). Overall a good experience, if a slightly surreal one.

A mix of being charming and somewhat dated

We only stayed one night at the Coolidge. We got two rooms that were connected by the shared bathroom. A nice feature was an extra powder room in one of the bedrooms -- very nice as there were four of us. Rooms were large and very clean. I'd read some negative comments about the desk service but we found those at the desk very friendly and helpful. We preferred the charm of the hotel to a chain and had no issues at all with outside noise. Heat was not an issue as the weather was warm.
