Inn Details

The Mountaineer Inn of Southern Vermont has beckoned summer and winter visitors for decades. The Inn remains a quiet mountain retreat with friendly attentive service and home cooked meals. The Inn is family owned and operated.

While we have many outstanding features, a particular favorite is that we are conveniently located at the base of Mount Snow. This allows Mountaineer Inn guests to walk (200 yards) to all Mount Snow events and it's skiing, hiking and mountain biking trails.

The Inn sits on a beautiful 25-acre meadow bordered by two brooks. There are 25 non-smoking guest rooms with private baths. Each room is carpeted and individually decorated. Enjoy a pleasant view of forest, mountain or meadow from every room.

Start your day with a full, cooked-to-order country breakfast each morning!Relax on our flower-filled deck overlooking our 10-acre meadow, pool and gardens.
Open from June through mid-September, the 64 foot heated lap pool awaits you. Bask in the sun on one of our lounge chairs. The large gazebo is the perfect place to enjoy a snack or cocktail. It also provides an excellent backdrop for weddings and group gatherings.
Most rooms have 2 beds--a queen and a twin. We have a few kings and canopies. All guestrooms have private bathrooms and are without TVs. Our rooms are on the small size but are neat, tidy and individually decorated.Vermont is winter wonderland. Just walk out our front door to downhill skiing, snowshoeing, tubing and snowmobiling. Cross country skiing just a mile away.
The wall of windows is the dining room, letting in warmth and sunshine on a winter's day. Notice the ski slopes. We really are at the Mount Snow Resort mountain base.We love to decorate for the holidays. Guests enjoy sipping hot cider by the fire in our living room with cathedral ceiling and grand piano.
The BYOB bar is a great gathering place. The pool table is just around the corner and the sauna and 14-person outdoor hot tub are a short walk down the hall.
