Housed in a 150 year old farmhouse, conveniently located between the village of Stowe and the world class skiing of the Stowe Mountain Resort, The Gables Inn is a Vermont country inn in the truest sense of the words. There is so much to see and do in Stowe and the surrounding area, and at the end of a busy, fun filled day simply relax, unwind, and enjoy the laid back comfort of The Gables.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this B&B for a ski vacation. The staff was very pleasant and helpful and we felt at home right away. The room was small and clean. Bathroom was well-kept. The breakfast served in the morning until 12 pm offered a wide array of options, which were pleasing. This was much like eating at a small country diner and folks from the community even came to dine at The Gables. Our only gripe is this: the mattress in the room was EXTREMELY uncomfortable, and was similar to sleeping on a hollow cardboard box with some coils thrown in. Also, as if this wasn't bad enough, the sheets on the bed were rough and scratchy (made mostly of polyester) and the pillows were almost completely flat. Otherwise, a pleasant stay.
