    I love it!

    November 11, 2010

I've never actually stayed at the Putney Inn, but if the rooms are anything like my dining experience, they must be fantastic! A friend told us to stop at the Inn on our way up to Stowe. When we came in the owner greeted us and brought us to our table and poured our water. Our waitress recommended a wine that was way more than I expected for the price. I stared off with crab cakes and my wife had a beet and goat cheese salad, both were superb. For our entrees I had the filet mignon and my wife had mahi-mahi. This was the best steak I've ever had and my wife loved her fish. We split a maple moose for dessert, a true taste of what Vermont fine dining should be. We liked it so much we stopped again for lunch on our way back. Top 5 burgers I've ever had. We will definitely come back the net time we're in Vermont.

    Dissappointment

    October 22, 2010

This is not a great place to stay but the location worked for our needs. Rooms are 1960 motel decor with old TV's with poor fuzzy reception. No conditioner is provided. As it was peak foliage season in Vermont, the rates were high. Continental breakfast was supposed to include home made pastries but they were not available either morning. The wait staff seemed nice but non professional. Although I have stayed here many times and had my son's wedding here, they had no way of recognizing me or greeting me as a frequent customer. I will make other arrangements in the future.

    52nd Anniversary Honeymoon

    June 06, 2010

We chose the Putney Inn for the celebration of our 52nd wedding anniversary because of the advertisement we saw on the Bed and Breakfast website, and because of its proximity to the Vermont Country Stores in Weston and Rockingham, VT. My bride enjoys shopping, so the Country Store, where she saw many products that she had never seen before, was a special treat for her. The personnel at the Putney Inn welcomed us enthusiastically. We enjoyed a drink on the lovely veranda before entering the charming dining room for a delicious anniversary dinner. While we waited for dessert, I proposed again to her, asking to allow me to be a part of her life for another 52 years. She was thrilled with the new engagement and wedding rings I offered her on bended knee. After dinner we adjourned to our room to relax and enjoy our traditional bottle of champagne. Putney Inn, you made our special day even more special. Don Sheehan Tewksbury, MA
