We stayed here on our first trip to Vermont. Even though was a last minute reservation, Patty was ready to welcome us and show us around. We stayed in the suite upstairs, and found it to be everything we could have asked for. Patty's breakfast the next morning was an amazing spread of fresh fare, all homemade. We liked it so much, we added a second night to our stay. Meticulously clean, fresh, peaceful rooms, Patty's art on the walls, and the little extras that make it feel like home rather than a stale hotel. It is just a short, beautiful walk to the village restaurants and shops. I can't say enough about the inn or its owner. We loved every minute!

Patty made my first trip to Vermont very personal with her warm personality and sweet touches upon my visit. I was her only guest on a rainy Tuesday night, and she welcomed me with open arms. Her house is a very bright and happy place filled with her artistic touches. It is not fancy but very comfortable and quite clean. Patty's little touches such as sending along a pot of tea and fresh fruit with me when I turned in a little early for the evening to my room, the lavish breakfast set just for me, and a little bag of treats for the car really made me love my stay at A Room in the Village. I'll definitely go back if I'm in the area ever again.

Patty and Guntram were such gracious hosts. They stayed up late to accommodate our arrival after 10 PM, chatted with us after breakfast, and gave excellent suggestions for day trips, restaurants, and hikes in the area. Breakfast was delicious and Patty was happy to share her techniques and recipes - she copied out a recipe by hand for me! Our room and private bathroom were impeccably clean, the bed was very soft and comfortable, and the walls were decorated with beautiful paintings done by Patty. The evenings and nights in the house were quiet and peaceful, even though the other guest rooms were occupied. The location is incredible - just a few minutes' walk to the town and college. This was such a memorable and comfortable stay! We look forward to returning in the fall.
