We wanted to stay in Dorsett for the classic VT fall getaway without paying wild prices at nearby Dorsett Inn. Found this and overall, a gem in that its a charming, classic inn. Room are small and old fashioned - no frills but quaint, comfortable. Inn keepers extremely nice with a charming little inside restaurant. Only odd thing was the food -- good, interesting menu, lovely presentation like a higher end Inn but notably tasteless..from both our dinners to even the breakfast. Not worth the value. I'd stay at Barrow and go out to dinner

We enjoyed our stay at Barrows. The main house is charming and the grounds are lovely. We were in Shubert House and our room was quite nice. It was larger than we expected with many windows so it was light and airy. The bed was very comfortable and the cottage had a kitchen so we were able to utilize the refrigerator. The only downsides were the bathroom, although clean and in good shape it was really outdated and there was a lot of noise from the room above. The patio outside our room was unusable due the poor condition of the furniture but we found these things to be minor. The breakfasts were terrific and the staff very warm and friendly. We would definitely stay at Barrows House again. Great location and charming.

With a breakfast like that, who needs lunch!

We were in the Carriage House, and found it extremely pleasant, and a surprisingly good value. The innkeepers are very friendly, and the breakfasts were outstanding.
