Fabulous B&B

4.6 on September 21, 2015

Great location - easy walking distance to downtown. Large rooms decorated in hip and fun motif (with lots of snacks in room at no extra charge). Super-comfy beds and linens. Nicely appointed furnishings - comfy too! Bathroom roomy for two people with soft towels and softer bathrobes on hand. Breakfast was yummy and nutritious (we are bicyclists -so needed an energy packed breakfast that was also Gluten Free - Thank you Linda and staff). The staff was friendly and helpful. Linda is generous and informative (she offered us the use of her vehicle if needed). Hi-quality snacks always on hand in the dining area. Oh and Heady Topper Beer - now that was a Treat!!! It was a fun place to stay for our 20th. Would definitely stay again.

Made Inn Burlington VT......

5 on September 14, 2015

An absolutely fabulous getaway. The inn and rooms were fabulously decorated and extremely clean. We were so happy with the place. Food was to die for. Linda and her staff gave us such great attention, suggestions for dining and site-seeing and directions to get every where. Definitely worth a return trip. .

Great Get-Away

4.8 on August 27, 2015

Made Inn Vermont was a great choice for our get away. The room was wonderful and the entire b&b was great. Linda made sure we had everything we wanted or needed. The breakfast was great and Linda even greeted us with drinks after a long day of sightseeing. We had coffee in the morning in the widow's peek and watched the beautiful lake with the sun coming up. Can't wait to go back.

The PERFECT Burlington Getaway!

4.6 on August 26, 2015

My boyfriend and I just spent two nights at the Made Inn and I cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was! The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and having FUN! Right as we arrived they made sure we had drinks and a tour of the Inn. The Inn is gorgeous and immaculate! The room was spotless, charming, and comfortable. On top of our bed being extremely comfortable, the added bonus of having luxurious robes to lounge in, made it even better! Our bathroom was very nice and VERY clean. It did not feel like the sterile , uncomfortable typical hotel vibe, it was truly a relaxing, fabulous experience. Linda provided excellent service, making sure we had everything we wanted and more for breakfast. Breakfast was made to order, and delicious. There was always snacks available which made it feel like our own home. Linda made sure that we knew of things to do in the area, without being overbearing. We also LOVED using the hot tub, it was very clean and was beautiful lit up at night. We cannot stop talking about our stay here and cannot wait to go back!

Very Hip B&B in Burlington

4.2 on August 24, 2015

This b&b is really hip. Very nice room, very clean. Just great: An old record player and old vinyl records in the room. Great: Style, clean, walking distance to city and Lake Champlain No so great: Some noise at night due to car traffic, bathroom not integrated in the room. In any case a nice visit to remember! Innkeeper Response
Reviews from our guests are always appreciated and help us to thrive. We're sorry you did not have the 5-star experience that most of our guests have come to expect . . . . . While our private bathrooms are spotless and well-appointed, with individual temperature control, we realize that some guests are not used to a European-style accommodation where in-room bath are not always possible. Since this is a historic property we had to protect the architectural integrity of the house and we made every effort to restore and renovate in keeping with that . . . . . We've also sound-insulated guest rooms and while rooms have all electronic entertainment components and a white-noise machine for added sleeping comfort, Burlington, with it's exuberant student population, can be noisy at times but we, neighbors, and local police all enforce a noise ordinance to the best of our ability . . . . . We are all committed to guest satisfaction, we want our guests to feel at home at Made Inn Vermont, and we're passionate about recommending local restaurants and attractions to ensure you will have great memories of us and this vibrant region . . . . . Please consider staying with us in the future and contact us in advance for any concerns or special requests. Thank you, Linda Made Inn Vermont

Made INN Vermont was great!

4.8 on August 10, 2015

We enjoyed our time at the INN and would recommend it as a nice option for a stay in Burlington. We don't stay ay many B and Bs and Linda the inn keeper made us feel right at home. She has an eye for design and her house is full of interesting elements. The breakfast was delicious. The INN is centrally located and it's a short walk to the main area of a Burlington.

Great stay!

Linda was such a welcoming and wonderful hostess - ensuring that we had anything we might want to eat or drink throughout our stay. The breakfasts were amazing, the best we've had anywhere.

Comfortable and Friendly

We were here in Burlington for three nights in June. The lovely house, the fabulous food, friendly hostess, everything about our stay at Made INN Vermont was amazing! Thanks Linda

Charm, Warmth, and Quality

5 on June 07, 2015

My wife and I visited Burlington to celebrate her birthday. Our stay at Made Inn Vermont was glorious. Our host, Linda, treated us with exactly the right amount of attention a guest could want. It's worth breaking down the things we appreciated into these categories: HOSPITALITY As I said, Linda was amazing. Upon welcome, she spends just the right amount of time providing you with all of the maps you need, suggests some wonderful restaurants, gives you the tour, offers you some home-made sangria or a local beer (both equally terrific), and then leaves you to sink in to your room. But, upon discovering it was my wife's Birthday, Linda went out and bought 2 "Happy Birthday" balloons, two small cupcakes, and a lovely card. When we returned from a long bike ride, we found this surprise waiting for us in our room (along with some sangria). It was pretty awesome. FURNISHINGS We stayed in room 904. It was huge and had a chalk board for one of the walls (with chalk available). We also had a record player and a box of records, including one of my favorite Wynton Marsalis albums (though if you don't like what's there, just roam the house; neatly collected record crates dot the place imploring you to explore). The decoration is eclectic and celebratory, but also clean and welcoming (which describes the entire house, really). I HIGHLY recommend you take a drink up to the Widow's Walk at the top of the house and watch the sun set behind the mountains and Lake Champlain. You will find few views that beat this one in the whole town. FOOD We ate two breakfasts here, and they were both restaurant quality meals. In fact the Creme-Brulee French Toast was better than most things I've had in recent memory. Linda and her staff make sure you have everything you need (and more), so you can start your day beautifully. LOCATION You're close to everything and exactly far enough away from "everything" to know you'll get some sleep and enjoy some quiet time.

Great stay in May

The meals were delicious. My room was comfy and funky.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for taking the time to review us, and certainly we appreciate your review. We have checked your value rating and we would very much appreciate a call to discuss anything that you may have found not to be satisfactory. As far as value, we only have 4 guest rooms, and during our high-season, we have many requests for the same dates, and same rooms, and well, Burlington does command higher rates than many Vermont cities. If you booked during a school graduation or a holiday in May, then I would agree our rates are higher, but not really in comparison with the upscale hotels. Our amenities are so special, our INN so private, that we feel we offer a quality value. I'm sure if you booked in May you were the lucky-ones, as we had many requests and redirects to other hotels, because we were full! We always offer returning guests extra rate considerations, and during our off season, I'm sure you would find us to be an extremely good value. Let me suggest booking one of our premium rooms, as we feel they are exceptional. Hope to see you in the future, thank you for staying with us and reviewing our INN in such kind comments. Our mid-sized guestroom boasts a king bed, and has two windows that look out through the surrounding trees. Think a treehouse! The third window looks out over downtown Burlington and has seasonal views of Lake Champlain. One of our ttwo original marble sink vanities preserved under glass can be found here, as well as our first class amenities; plush robe and slippers, 32" LED HDTV with DVD player, and well stocked fridge, to name a few. The soaring ceilings add to the spacious feel of 904.

  • Maximum Capacity: 3

Spread out and settle in here - 905 has room to spare. A queen bed, of course including our gel-foam topper, designer bedding and underbed lighting; an oversized mid century lounger with ottoman and a walk in closet. This room personifies "personal space". Feel free to decorate the blackboard wall with whatever strikes your fancy. Borrow several movies from our private collection to watch on the 32" HDTV w/DVD player. Or just relax and enjoy some of our Vermont delicacies from the mini-fridge.

  • Maximum Capacity: 3

Room 906 is sister to room 903 but with a queen size bed, making it the perfect cozy retreat for two. And while smaller in stature, it still has all of the fabulous amenities of our other rooms - from the chalkboard wall, to the stocked mini fridge, to the underbed lighting. And the luxurious bedding just makes it easier to drift off into a sound, peaceful slumber!

  • Maximum Capacity: 2

Although Room 903 is our smallest guest room, it still has all of the fabulous amenities of our other rooms - from the chalkboard wall, to the stocked mini-fridge, to the underbed lighting. The tall leaded glass Victorian window looks out over the rear garden area, and a rooftop garden right outside the window is planned for spring, 2013. The cozy full-sized bed encourages two to cuddle, or allows one to spread out. And the luxurious bedding just makes it easier to drift off into a sound, peaceful slumber!

About the innkeepers

Our eclectic urban style, interactive and experiential small luxury B&B was the idea of my daughter, the artist Shelly Voorhees. She saw a sign for sale, and we started planning this whole adventured of designing a casual artistic Victorian INN with the idea of showcasing Burlington’s eclectic style. She has the honor of being selected a Red Dot Cover Artist, and an acclaimed Washington DC artist at the age of 23. Her art as well as other VT artists adorn our walls.
