We stayed here as part of a bike tour and were very pleased with our accommodation as well as the surrounding area. What knocks this one out of the ballpark is the meals that Chuck prepares and his wife Edie, serves. Unbelievable and fantastic culinary treats are prepared for breakfast and dinner. It was a good thing we rode lots of miles each day! Don't miss this inn near Woodstock.

We had such a great stay here. The inn is amazing...so cozy and comfortable you feel like you are staying in a friends home. The rooms are spotlessly clean, the grounds are beautiful and the innkeepers make you feel completely at home.

If you imagine a perfect New England inn it would look a lot like the OCI. I have stayed there several times and can’t say enough good things about it. The Inn is in an old farmhouse, and it is extremely comfortable and pleasant. Edie and Chuck are the ideal hosts – endlessly accommodating, as well as being very interesting people. They’ll often visit with the guests and share little snippets of the Inn’s history and their life as innkeepers. The inn itself is full of terrific books, board games, and puzzles, as well as plenty of comfortable furniture. There is also plenty of outdoor space, including a beautifully situated pool. No matter the season, there are plenty of great spots to relax. Over the years I have stayed in many of the rooms - each is different, but all are comfortable and quiet. One of the most impressive things about this inn is the cleanliness - it is immaculate! One of the real treats here is the food. Chef Chuck cooks up terrific meals. Breakfasts are traditional New England fare, while dinners are generally thematic by cuisine - Italian and French Country are two of the best. The dinners are served family style, which creates a nice environment to talk with the other guests, and there is always tons of food. The area is beautiful as well, and the inn can be a great headquarters for biking and hiking adventures. The inn is close to Killington for winter skiing, as well as near Woodstock, an adorable town filled with art galleries. Overall, the October Country Inn is a great place to spend some time. If you’re looking for a charming country inn, look no further.

Just perfect. My boyfriend and I recently spent 2 nights at the OCI and I cannot say enough great things about it. The inn is charming, absolutely immaculate, and super cozy. The owners, Chuck and Edie, are incredibly warm and gracious, offering expert advice about the local area and serving awesome food---the homemade scones and muffins are amazing. There are goodies all over the place: warm chocolate chip cookies, tons of board games and novels, sodas and teas, etc. Our room (#8) was nice and very private--the bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. We loved it and cannot wait to return.
