I chose this B&B because they advertise their "skip lunch breakfast" (so big you can skip lunch). It lived up to its name! First day was a buffet with waffles, muffins, toast, eggs, sausage, ham, fresh fruit, fried apples and potatoes, second day we had stuffed french toast (fried apples in between 2 slices of cinnamon french toast with strawberries and chocolate syrup on top), eggs, sausage, potatoes, yogurt w/ fruit and muffins. And a variety of coffee, tea, hot chocolateand/or juice to choose from. We stayed in the Capt. John Smith suite, very nicely sized- the bathroom was a little small but otherwise the room was great! The innkeeper, Ike, was very friendly and told us interesting stories of his experiences.

My wife and I stay two night here while we were in Colonial Williamsburg. The B&B was great. The breakfasts tasted great and we had a variety of foods to choose from. The host was very friendly. We would stay here again and recommend it highly. Mike and Barbara. Arizona

We enjoyed a two night stay here recently. The room was very clean, as well as the bathroom. The bathroom was nicely updated. The bed was a little hard but had lovely sheets. Our suite had a nice sitting room and gas fireplace, as well as an outdoor porch. There was plenty of space and a huge walk in closet. The innkeeper, Ike, was very friendly. He was always available if we needed anything. The location was great - close to Colonial Williamsburg and William and Mary and easy to get to. Breakfast was good - simple but many items to chose from and delicious. My only recommendation would have been room for toiletries in the bathroom - there was only a pedestal sink and no table or place to rest them.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Williamsburg Sampler B&B for two nights for our anniversary. The B&B was cute and cozy with a lot of character. The breakfasts were good, but fairly basic (scrambled eggs one morning and French toast the next). The location is excellent - only a mile walk from Colonial Williamsburg and very close to the William & Mary campus. The innkeeper Ike was not at the B&B all the time, but he was around most afternoons/evenings and was very kind. Overall, we were pleased with our stay.

Our daughter gave us a Bed and Breakfast.com certificate and we decide to go to Williamsburg, VA. We chose the Williamsburg Sampler B&B it was truly amazing the house was beautifully decorated and immaculate. Ike (the owner) was so nice we had some very good conversations. The ship your lunch breakfast was wonderful and different every day. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the Williamsburg Sampler to anyone going to Williamsburg.

My husband and I stayed at the Williamsburg Sampler this past weekend for one night while we were in Williamsburg visiting our son. I can't believe we had never stayed in such a place before. The grounds were wonderfully kept even though there was snow on the ground. Ike, the innkeeper, met us at the door and gave us a tour of his beautiful home. It was filled with antiques and other paraphernalia from around the world. He then showed us to our suite. We stayed in the Captain John Smith suite. It was clean, comfortable, and very spacious. The deck outside our suite was even nice to go out and look around even in the cold weather. Our fireplace kept us toasty warm. The shower was the best part of the room. Newly remodeled, it has side sprays as well as the shower head. It was one very relaxing shower. The next morning, we made our way down to breakfast where we dined with another couple from Virginia Beach. Ike joined us in the conversation, and we had a very good breakfast as well as received some good ideas of places to go around the B&B. Ike even remembered I was looking for some iced tea the night before, and made me a glass for breakfast the next morning. The cook and housekeeper was also very attentive and very sweet. She is also a great cook. I so enjoyed our stay at the Williamsburg Sampler, and we will definitely go back the next time we are down in Williamsburg. It has a very enchanting charm about it. Ike was like a long lost friend who we just met up with again. All in all, a grand experience.

Overall not bad. Fairly close to the downtown area so we were able to walk which was very nice. Room was small but had everything we wanted. Breakfast was standard, but nothing really fancy or memorable.

Innkeeper was very helpful in recommending excellent restaurants, interesting events, and great activities. Rooms were well appointed, food was great, and there was a very well equipped game room for evening relaxation. Antique lovers will enjoy the wide variety of exquisite antiques from all over the world.

I would hightly recommend the King William Suite to anyone looking to get away from it all. This suite was recently upgraded with a fresh coat of paint, pull out sofa, large format television. The Fireplce and walk out balany made this one of the most romantic places I have stayed. We are looking forward to returning this spring. The entire house is filled with anitques and various unique finds. Ike was very welcoming and Lizeth prepared a wonderful breakfast. The perfect setting to relax.

My husband and I just left the Williamsburg Sampler where we enjoyed a couple of days away from our hetic world. The house was very inviting and we particularly loved the fireplace in the den. ike has collected things from all of the world and they are well showcased in his beautiful home. We stayed in the Lord Nelson Chamber Room but will come back to stay in the Caption John Smith Suite so we can enjoy the inroom fireplace and balacony on our next visit. Breakfast was a true skip lunch experience with lots of things to select from. Assorted toastable breads, cereals, yogerts, Virginia Ham, Eggs, Freshly Baked Muffins, the best scrambled eggs ever, and much much more. The house was a bit of a walk to the Colonial part so we decided to drive the second day. But walking is an option, we just chose to be lazy.

It was so warm and cozy! We even had a balcony outside off the back of our room, a sittign area, gas fireplace, 2 TVs, a wetbar and refrigerator. Wonderful service and hospitality! Thank you to the staff for a delicious breakfast too! The Edwards' from Wake Forest, NC

A wonderful experience - Ike was warm and the home inviting. It was so much more than any B&B we'd stayed at before. The home was filled with wonderful things to enjoy and the warmth of the host added to the setting. Many more amenities than we ever expected - and the location was perfect. Thank you for a memorable stay.

My wife and I spent two nights at Williamsburg Sampler B&B. It was a charming place, well furnished and comfortable. Everything was clean. Our room was large and well appointed with a comfortable king sized bed. The breakfast was substantial and more than ample, and we enjoyed conversation with other guests around a common table. Our host, Ike, was amiable and most helpful in making recommendations on how to get about Williamsburg.

My husband and I stayed at the Sampler last weekend. We were greeted warmly by the host, Ike who served only as host. The first morning Ike's daughter, who runs another b & b in town as well as a catering business stopped by to whipped up some scrambled eggs along with melon, skillet cooked potatoes and a store bought coffee cake. The next morning the house keeper served the scrambled eggs, cooked apples and bacon grits. Coffee ran out after first rounds for the 6 to 8 guests both mornings. We search for more at the Market Square after breakfast. We stayed in the Captain John Smith suite and found it decorated with dark wood furniture. The bathroom was very small, a tight fit for my husband, but presentable and clean. What I liked most was the gas fireplace in the sitting room. It was cold during our visit and it was nice to thaw out near the fireplace in the evenings. I didn't care for the artificial plants on the porch, but liked the space provided. For anyone looking for a comfortable, clean place to stay, the Sampler would fit the bill.

I recently stayed at the Sampler. I had an issue shortly after arriving. "Ike" the owner didn't hesitate and offered me another suite. He told me all that he was interested in was my happiness. We had no issues from that point on. Ike was a gracious and helpful host. The suite was comfortable and interesting. The breakfast was filling and both I and my wife enjoyed it and the conversation with the owner. The B and B is close to the historic section of Williamsburg which made visiting Williamsburg easy. I would recommend this B and B to anyone coming for a short or long stay. Jeff F.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay immensely at the Williamsburg Sampler. Our host Ike, was warm, friendly and accommodating. He was always at the ready with interesting pieces of information about events and history in the area. Our room, with a private bath, had a wonderful old world charm. We had wonderful conversations around the breakfast table with the two other couples staying at the B&B. The conversation was only surpassed by the food which was expertly prepared by Ike each morning. We heartily recommend the Williamsburg Sampler for any travelers in the Colonial Williamsburg area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Williamsburg Sampler B&B. The owner provided an excellent breakfast and made us feel very much at home. The room was very quiet and with an in-room electric heater, it was very warm and cozy. The inn is very conveniently located near Merchants Square and the owner was very helpful in advising where to go to eat.

My husband I just got back from spending 4 nights here. We loved it, we stayed in the King William suite and it was awesome. The suite was large and roomy and had a great fireplace. Ike was a great guy that was very accomodating and he made the greatest muffins. The breakfasts were great portion sizes and very filling. Just a short walk to Colonial Williamsburg. We would definately visit again.

The Williamsburg Sampler was without question the finest B&B I have evr had the pleasure of staying. Everything was absolutely prefect. The house was fabulous and the host, Ike, was most friendly and a pleasure to be with.

Williamsburg Sampler was a wonderful experience. When I entered I wanted to say WOW. The interior was so beautifully done in colonial period furnishing and appointments. Staying at a home that depicted the area was a very special reward. The host was so gracious and hospitable.

Our stay at the Williamsburg Sampler was the icing on the cake for a wonderful 11th anniversary trip to Colonial Williamsburg. The B&B itself was beautifully decorated and cared for by its owner and the personal items such as photos and family mementos added a sense of home to the atmosphere that is often lost in some more commercial establishments. Upon arrival, we were given a tour of the house which included the basement game room. We were shown to our room which was again beautifully decorated. The king size bed was very comfortable and the massage jets in the shower were a nice touch. Breakfast each morning was very well prepared and conversation with Ike and the other guest again set the like home feel. The Sampler’s proximity to Colonial Williamsburg was very nice although being from the deep south, the walk would have been a bit cold for us. We did find parking however not a problem either at the B&B or in Colonial Williamsburg. We had Reservations one night for the Regency Room which was absolutely amazing but under Ike’s recommendations we ate at The Trellis Restaurant and at the 2nd Street restaurant. Ike’s direction as to what to see and eat was right on the mark and we were never steered wrong. This is a beautiful part of the country and the Williamsburg Sampler is placed in a perfect location for sight seeing or visiting William and Mary College. Whether you are visiting Williamsburg, Jamestowne, or Yorktowne, you cannot go wrong with the Williamsburg Sampler.

Your trip to Williamsburg is not complete without a stay at a King's suite in this B&B. The inn keeper, Ike, makes the perfect breakfast fit for a king. You will awake to a unique and mouth watering scent each morning. Make acquaintances around the breakfast table served with period ware. Walking distance to Historic Willaimsburg; a slow walk is about 20 min. The inn keeper is well versed on all attractions. This inn is filled with historic antiques and curios including an original pump organ, canon, and a grammaphone. The King suits have a romantic balcony for star gazing and/or night time wine sipping. Quaint and quiet historic atmosphere; food market about 1.5 miles away; use your TomTom. Do yourself a favour and stay for a while; you need at least three days to feel the character of this house. My wife and I love this house! There is one warning, once you stay at the Williamsburg Sampler B&B, you will forever see all other hotel rooms as "blah". Prepare to be spoiled.

We were at the Sampler in July but never thought of writing a review. We noted lots of nice comments and we wanted to add a belated one also. The house is friendly to our needs and located close to historic Colonial Williamsburg. Breakfast each morning was in a lovely decorated dining room. Our accommodation was a Suite with a wonderful carved bed and furnishings. The Innkeeper was knowledgable as to dining facilities and earpointed locations to be sure to see. We have recommended it to friends with some visiting already. All agreed that to a very nice visit. We have visited other B&B's under this website quality accommodation listings and am totally please.

The Williamsburg Sampler is a true Bed and Breakfast. Ike the innkeeper is so pleasant to be around. The house is filled with wonderful treasures from around the world. Ike is a very good story teller and loves sharing his travel stories. The Williamsburg Sampler is a family run bed and breakfast, on Saturday morning Ike's daughter Laura prepared our breakfast. We stayed in the King William Suite, which included a King Size Bed, Fireplace, Wet Bar, Sitting Room and Balcony.

My husband and I felt thrilled to be staying at this inn. We enjoyed Colonial Williamsburg and when we returned to rest (in a king size bed) this placed made us feel at home. There was a lot to do at this Inn, use the gym and relax in a sauna or enjoy the 60" TV or play billiards. The Innkeeper helped us with pointed information of where to eat and what to see. The breakfast served was above and beyond what we have had at B&B's in other areas. It was just the most enjoyable place. Oh yes, of course we have to return. :-)
