Worth double what you're paying! Visiting Jim at his bed and breakfast is a lot like staying at a caring, un-intrusive relative's house with a guest room. The house, built around the 1870's, is really charming. He even sets up an iron and ironing board at the top of the stairs for you to use. It is a nice quiet place to sleep across the street from a large college's art museum. Visiting in the summer means the college is pretty much empty and silent and the neighborhood is very still save for the squirrels, cardinals and fireflies(!) - all wonderful things to see out your window in the mornings and evenings. Also, "colonial Williamsburg" is only about two blocks away east on Jamestown road, so don't waste time driving. Walk. You'll enjoy it more. After the first night we found ourselves telling people we were "going home" after a long day of sightseeing. And that's exactly what Autumn Leaves feels like - home. Jim provides a delicious breakfast of bagels, cereal, fruit and pastries and has a lot of great books to read on his book shelves. And a VERY comfortable Queen sized bed. Make sure you read over the comment books he leaves for you and write your own comments and observations for future guests. The book goes back a few years and it's great to see all the places people came from and their experiences. Plus you'll get good tips on things to do and places to eat. Or you can ask Jim. He knows this town like the back of his hand. The morning after we flew back to California, my fiancee asked me what I wanted for breakfast and I looked at her sadly and answered, "Jim's pastries." You'll miss this place after you leave. There's a reason it's usually booked. Check out the site to find available dates. Just looking at some pictures of the room online makes me a little sad. One thing's for sure, we plan to revisit Williamsburg and one of those "booked" dates will once again be ours. We're grateful to have found this place.

This being our first visit to Williamsburg, I am very pleased we choose Autumn Leaves. Jim was a wonderful host and the room was more than comforable. We plan on going back to visit and hope the B&B is available when we do. Thanks Jim for all the helpful info you gave us.

Autumn Leaves is cozy and was so much better to come back to after a long day of siteseeing than a cold sterile hotel room! Kudos to Jim for the comfy bed, delish patries and letting us use the swing and kids videos for our 3yo daughter!

Autumn Leaves has a cozy, friendly atmostphere. It provides basic accommodations in an older home that has character and charm. The queen size bed is very comfortable, and the continental breakfast is very good with fresh juices and pastries. One of the great things about it is the proximity to Colonial Williamsburg, shopping, dining and the College of William and Mary. All of these are within a ten minute walk.
