A Boxwood Inn of Williamsburg

We stay and the Boxwood Inn every year when we take our spring trip to Williamsburg. Steve and Sandi are such delightful people and the B&B is just incredible. The gardens, the comfort and beauty of each and every room is just so inviting and warm. So close to everything and anything that you may want to do in Williamsburg. And let's not forget the FOOD....Every morning you wake up to a full and delicious breakfast...no need for lunch. Highly recommend this B&B. We tell everyone...if you stay in Williamsburg the Boxwood Inn is a must!!!!

What a beautiful place! It is true to the colonial Williamsburg historic area but the condition of the inn and the amenities are modern! You get the best of both worlds. The breakfasts are gourmet and not your standard bacon and eggs. Sandy is a great cook. It is within walking distance of everything. We'd stay there again for certain!

My wife and I were so pleased with every aspect of our stay at Boxwood B&B. Steve and Sandi took care of our every need. Their home was beautifully and tastefully decorated. There were plenty of rooms to "hide out" and be alone if desired. Their gardens were horticultural beauties and the food was ... well, to die for! Finally, it was an easy walk to the start of Colonial Williamsburg. The only negative about our visit is that Steve and Sandi have set the bar so high that any other B&B experience will be compared against theirs. I fear it is downhill from here! We apreciated that the owner gave us a explanation how to organise a visit to Williamsburg. The breakfast was light but tastefull. The house is in a very good neighborhood. It's a nice house with beautiful furniture, everything very clean

The house and grounds were well maintained and attractive. The owner was polite and helpful. By far, the best part of the stay was the breakfast. Breakfast on Saturday was belgian waffles topped homemade whipped cream and strawberries. Ham and eggs was served on the side. It was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had and I wasn't hungry again until mid afternoon. It's an easy 1/2 mile walk from the house to Market Square / ticket office for Colonial Williamsburg and short drives to Yorktown and Jamestown. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a B&B within walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg.

The Boxwood Inn in Williamsburg was a joyful experience. The inn keepers were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was well presented and delicious. The rooms were clean and decorated very nicely. All this combined made for a nice little romantic weekend getaway. We would highly recommend a stay at the Boxwood Inn.

If you are looking to visit Williamsburg or Jamestown, the location is excellent. If you are looking for the best breakfast you've ever had, this is the place!

Washington Carriage House perfect honeymoon spot - spacious yet cozy. Delicious and satisfying breakfast every morning. Beautiful holiday decorations. Welcoming hosts. Convenient walking distance to Merchants Square. Had stayed before and would definitely stay again. Highly recommended!

Steve and Sandi welcomed us into their beautiful B&B from the moment we arrived. Steve gave us the history of the home and made sure that we had everything that we needed for the evening. The next morning, we were greeted by other guests, and had a wonderful breakfast in the dining room which was impeccably decorated for the holidays! The only thing we were sorry about? That we couldn't stay longer than 2 nights! We highly recommend the Boxwood Inn of Williamsburg, and I know the next time we are in the area, we will certainly return to this lovely place!!

My husband and I recently stayed at the Boxwood Inn of Williamsburg in Williamsburg, VA. We had a wonderful three day visit at the home of Steve and Sandi and used the Jefferson Room which was spacious and well appointed. The home is warm and inviting . Our favorite area was the gardens and porch. We enjoyed talking to the guests who were there each morning and shared what they had discovered while visitng Willimasburg. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Sandi was always interested in our plans for the day and willing to suggest ideas if we asked. Since this was our first visit to Wiilimsburg, we decided we would come back and definately seek to stay here. Sandi was also kind to promptly send back our computer charger we had left in the room.

Boxwood Inn was the perfect place to spend a weekend in Williamsburg. Located just a few blocks walk from the Colonial district, we found it the ideal place to wind down after a day of touring the historic sites. The Inn was beautiful, a recent restoration of a 1920s home. The owners were friendly and accomodating, offering a wealth of knowledge of the area. The breakfast service in the morning was top-notch. Would highly recommend to anyone. We cannot wait to return to A Boxwood Inn.

Quaint little B&B located directly near Colonial Williamsburg and downtown. Very clean rooms, I loved the snacks and Keurig machine availble 24/7.

My husband and I stayed at the Box wood for a quick weekend trip to Williamsburg. The rooms were very clean, and we stayed in a room with extra pirvacy isolated in the back part of the Inn. we enjoyed the breakfasts and sitting on the back porch. The inn is centrally located making getting around very easy. We only met Steve on our stay, but he was very welcoming and more than happy to help us in our dinner plans and sightseeing recommendations. We hope to return some day, thanks for a great place to relax.

Sandi greeted us a big "hello!" before we even had our luggage out of the car. Both she and Steve are very sweet. The house was beautiful and well kept. I thoroughly enjoyed the porch with a book I found in the room, and a glass of wine from a local winery we visited. Breakfast was amazing!! We stayed at 3 different B&B's during our 9 day vacation and this breakfast was by far the best! We stayed in the Tyler room - kinda small - but you also pay less for it - it was clean and the bed comfortable. Couldn't really ask for more.

Very pleasant stay, the accommodations were wonderful and the breakfasts were top notch! Steve and Sandy made my wife and I feel very welcome. Great location! Safe off street parking for our two motorcycles too.

Boxwood Inn does what it says on the tin. We enjoyed the company of other guests when all sharing the same table at breakfast where we waited in eager anticipation of what was to come - you don't know until it arrives. A novelty for us vistors from England. Handy to have use of the lounge and porch at all times of the day. Tea, coffeee and snacks are there to help yourself. Quiet location not too far from Colonial Williamsburg. Would return.

My husband and I came to stay here as a getaway trip for our anniversary. We stayed in the Jefferson Room. It was absolutely beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. The breakfasts each morning were delicious, and we enjoyed getting to chat with other guests. I booked this while searching online, and all house looked exactly like it did in all the pictures. We enjoyed every minute and hated to leave. Sandi was a lovely hostess and very helpful in recommending dining and sightseeing activities. We would definitely stay here again, hopefully in the Washington Carriage House.

Everything about our stay with Steve and Sandi was lovely and enjoyable, from our beautiful room to a great breakfast every morning. It is obvious that the two of them take great pleasure in opening their lovingly restored home to those who are strangers, but aren't strangers for long. They make you feel more than welcome and we will be returning on our next trip to the area. My husband is already looking forward to more of Sandi's wonderful and impressive breakfasts!

This is our fifth time spending a few days and nights at the Boxwood Inn in Williamsburg. Returning that many times speaks for itself in terms of what we think of it! What an amazing home, gardens, and scrumptious breakfasts. The Inn keepers are gifted with marvelous hospitality and kindness. It is a beautiful place, lovely surroundings, peaceful atmosphere, and all-round remarkable place. We highly recommend and plan to return again and again!!

My wife and I wish we could stay there everyday. We love it there and suggest to other to stay there. the food was fantastic. Sandy & Steve are so great they make you feel as if you are at home. We can't wait to stay there again, we can't think of staying anywhere else in Williamsburgs.

My husband and I recently stayed in the Washington Carriage House for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We loved it! The room was beautiful and the breakfast each morning was terrific. The Washington Carriage House room is large with a jacuzzi tub and gas fireplace. It also has a private staircase leading into it. From this Bed and Breakfast we were able to walk to Colonial Williamsburg which is a couple of blocks away.

Recently stayed at Boxwood Inn for 3 days. Sandi and Steve could not have been more accommodating. The inn is immaculate and decorated perfectly, inside and out. Boxwood's location is perfect for visiting Historic Williamsburg. The breakfasts are fantastic. You will not be disappointed staing at the Boxwood Inn.

I stayed here with my new fiance as an engagement surprise in the Tyler Room, and it was pretty perfect. For the most part, we're pretty easy going people, so having the private bathroom down the hall (it's like 4 steps away), was not a big deal at all. They even had soft robes for us, which was a nice touch. The food was delicious, one of the best breakfasts we've ever had. Overall, I would definitely recommend it.

If only I had words to describe the extent to which I enjoyed my stay at the Boxwood Inn. My husband and I stayed in the Washington Carriage House previously this month. A young couple only married for six months, our night at the Boxwood Inn was our last night together before he deployed to the Middle East. The Boxwood Inn was everything we could have hoped for. The Washington Carriage House was absolutely gorgeous, with a fireplace and jacuzzi tub (for two, might I add!), not to mention beautiful hardwood floors, an incredibly spacious shower, and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. If you are looking for romance, or a place to spend time together and escape the world, then you've found the place. The Boxwood Inn in its entirety was absolutely stunning. The hospitality of Sandi was equally as stunning. She was cheerful and friendly, and although I was incredibly sad in the morning knowing that I was about to say goodbye to my husband for seven months, she still radiated positivity. I didn't have the slightest bit of an appetite in the morning, but two bites of her waffles and I ate almost the entire breakfast. It was delicious. This wasn't the first bed and breakfast we stayed in while in Williamsburg; it is, however, the very best.

We stayed in the Washington Carriage House for our 25th anniversary. It was even better than expected. Beautiful, cozy and perfect for the occasion. Hosts was great, made us dinner reservations with a surprise signed menu from the restaurant staff. Very happy we chose this to spend such a special occasion.

We checked in on Friday and stayed in the Jefferson Room. It was Beautiful! The whole B&B was decorated in excellent taste and the inn keepers were extremely helpful. They got out a map of Williamsburg our first evening and showed us where all of the good spots were and made some excellent dinner recommendations. The breakfasts were to die for! They were delicious and looked almost too good to eat! We had a great time and cannot wait to get back!

The Boxwood Inn is by far our favorite Inn. The Inkeepers Steve and Sandi are so personable. Their inn is absolutely gorgeous and the breakfast is always delicious. The gardens are so beautiful at all times of the year. We have recommended this inn to several family members and friends.

This is a great Bed and Breakfast located near the historic area of the city. It is a 0.5 mile walk past William and Mary to the shopping center in the historic section of the city. There is off the street parking. Wireless is also available. Private bath off each room is fully modern. The house has been fully remodeled in keeping with the time it was built but feels fully modern at the same time.

What an memorable experience not to mention relaxing from check in to check out. The room was immaculate, the decor was truly impressive inside & out and Sandi was as charming as the B&B. Within walking distance to great restaurants. Thanks for a wonderfully, relaxing and oh so delicious stay.

We loved our time at A Boxwood Inn of Williamsburg. Our room was beautiful and very private. We enjoyed the decor and warmness of the Inn and the lovely gardens. It's proximity to Colonial Williamsburg and lots of restaurants was a plus. This Inn was easy to find and provided us a wonderful environment for our weekend.

My husband and I spent our 18th wedding anniversary at boxwood inn. It was our first stay at a bed and breakfast. It was magnificent! We stayed in the carriage house. It was absolutely beautiful and so romantic. The entire house was breathtaking. Steve and Sandy were such gracious hosts and welcomed us graciously into their home. This is the most beautiful place! The grounds are just delightful with small pocket gardens full of delightful flowers. Inside, the house is decorated with elegant period furnishings that couldn't be more beautiful. Sandy is a fantastic hostess who makes divine fare for breakfast. Really, her morning meals can easily hold a person for all day. Parking is a breeze and the house is very close to Williamsburg just up from William and Mary College. We had a wonderful time. Best B&B EVER!

My wife and I stayed one evening here while visiting Williamsburg for our first anniversary. I had never been to a B&B, and if not all B&B's are this clean, comfortable and beautiful - along with super-friendly service - then A Boxwood Inn has set the bar pretty high in my book. We had stayed in the Jefferson room, and it looked, smelled and felt cleaner than a lot of hotel rooms I've stayed in! Loved the big shower and the whirlpool tub! For breakfast Sandi prepared for us a decadent praline french toast with egg souffle! I wish we had stayed a little bit longer to enjoy some down time on the beautiful back porch, but I'm sure I'll be back sometime!

We spent two nights at Boxwood Inn B&B to celebrate our first anniversary. I reserved the room on a Saturday and within moments of making the reservation I received a call from Steve (joint InnKeeper) confirming my reservation and discussing parking and directions. We met Sandi around 1:20 on Monday afternoon, she greeted us as if we were family and led us up to our room, which was gorgeous. We stayed in the Washington Carriage House which is the most detailed and beautiful room imaginable. The website said this room was perfect for wedding nights and I couldn't agree more.The room has a wonderful four post canopy king sized bed, whirlpool tub large enough for two, a beautiful bathroom with large shower and is just decorated like a magazine from modern home (with a colonial flare). The room has several windows over looking the gardens which are meticulously maintained. Williamsburg was wonderful and boxwood is located in the perfect location to William and Mary and Market Sqaure. Last but certainly not least each day we were treated to Sandi's breakfast. The breakfast was to die for, we aren't big breakfast people but these meals were exceptional. Our breakfast was always made with a smile and wonderful conversations with the other guests about events in Williamsburg. We typically don't like to repeat B&B's or hotels but this two night stay needed to be extended. We look forward to returning to Boxwood Inn and have already told all our friends that they have to do the same.

Just a great place run by awesome people with great hospitality! My fiancée and I will be back! That's the first B&B we've stayed at in Williamsburg and we won't go anywhere else! We loved it!

We recently stayed at the Boxwood Inn and had a lovely time. We were in the Tyler room which is small but still very nicely decorated. The bathroom was two steps away in the hallway but no problem at all. The common areas of the inn are very warm and welcoming- we spent an evening relaxing on the porch with some wine and cheese. The food and service were also fantastic - we were very well fed and warmly hosted. Finally, the location can't be beat - on a quiet street but only a few minutes walk to Merchant's Square. This would be my first choice place to stay in Williamsburg again!

We stayed there for our one year. It was very beautiful, quiet, and relaxing. The porch was amazing! Our room did have a private bath (as was listed on the website). However, we had to access it by going into the hall.

This was my first stay at any Bed and Breakfast. I really enjoyed the stay, it was a feeling of being home. I didn't eat there because of waking up late one day and getting a early start the next day. It was located very well for site seeing of the historic downtown of Williamsburg. I call ahead and the couple that runs the place really helped in giving me ideas of places to eat near by and gave me a heads up on better make reservations early because of graduations that week-end. Very clean and beautiful house. I can't wait to be able stay there agian. Josh/Connie VA

The facility is spotless, the grounds are beautifully manicured, the host is gracious and fun, the food was wonderful.

This was our first stay at a bed & breakfast, and it far surpassed our expectations. We were greeted with a friendly smile and a very homey atmosphere. Steve took us on a tour of the entire Inn, and showed us to our room. The room itself was immaculate. It was huge, as was the bathroom and the walk-in closet. The bed itself was super comfortable. I have a great deal of back problems, and I actually slept great. Breakfast the next morning was scrumdidliumptious. Steve served praline topped french toast, baked eggs, and sausage. It was beyond comparison. We definitely plan on staying here again soon!

This was the first time we decieded to stay at a B&B and we are very picky about where we stay. We were pleasantly surprised by A Boxwood Inn of Williamsburg. The innkeepers were just delightful, it was very quiet, the home is absolutely stunning! Our room was large but felt so comfortable and cozy we didn't want to leave. Breakfast was outstanding! We will defintely be visiting again.

Were greeted upon arrival by owner, Steve. He showed us around the house and explained some of its history. The Jefferson room was spacious (for a B&B). B'fast was very good and plentiful. Snacks (trail mix, crackers, candy, coffee, water) was available throughout the day. It was what I've come to expect from a pricy stay at a B&B. A couple of items struck me as "odd". The first was a sign in one of the rooms declaring that the large screen TV was for the owner only and for guest to use the ones in their rooms and the second was that there was no cream for the coffee. There was powdered coffeemate. I don't watch TV (even the one in my room). Perhaps a sign more along the lines of "This TV is finicky. Please check with Steve to use" or just hide the remote!...I do like my coffee and would expect that there would at least be those little creamers like they have at the 7-11. I found the encounters with Steve to be a little awkward; he was trying to be helpful and friendly, but would never look you in the eye. Overall, you can see that a lot of money went into the original house and the rooms were well done. I've stayed at the Fife and Drum and Cedars B&B in Williamsburg. My room and bath at the Boxwood was larger. The little nicities (hot cookies at night, creamers for coffee) were better at Fife. Cedars takes your picture and sends it to you.

We are happy you had an enjoyable stay. We continue to strive to give our guests a relaxing, memorable experience and to exceed their expectations. While we have a large screen TV in our common area, we find that guests prefer to watch TV in the privacy of their rooms which we do provide. Creamer for the afternoon coffee and tea is kept in the guest refrigerator, which is located in the breakfast room with the coffee and tea. We apologize for the fact that you were unable to locate it. Guest comfort is extremely important to us. We encourage our guests to ask us if they require assistance or have questions.

Both Steve and Sandi were very personable and attentive during our stay at Boxwood Inn. Our room was clean but a bit on the small side and street traffic could be heard. Breakfast was delicious and the Inn was very clean. I would certainly go back!

If you want to treat yourself or someone you love to a really special experience, a wonderful gift - look no further than the Boxwood Inn! Pictures cannot tell the whole story - what an amazing place with the most gracious and talented hosts! We cannot wait to return!

Great location as well and very reasonably priced. Walk to the College and historic district in 10 to 15 minutes, straight down Richmond Road to Merchant Square. The house is great, the porch super comfy to sit on before breakfast or just on a rainy afternoon for reading. Best breakfast ever!

This was our second stay. It won't be our last. This Inn is so tastefully decorated and comfortable. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. The hospitality is warm, friendly, and accommodating without being overbearing or fawning. Breakfasts are fantastic. Located close to William and Mary, it's a pleasant 15 minute walk to Colonial Williamsburg. We can't wait to come back.

My wife and I had a wonderful weekend at the Boxwood Inn in Williamsburg. Steve and Sandi did an exceptional renovation a few years ago, and the building and grounds are immaculate. We walked to the historic District daily after a breakfast that was better than any B & B we have encountered. We have already booked our return stay...

I have stayed in many B&B's on my travels but Boxwood may be the nicest from the setting itself to the wonderful hospitality we received from Linda. My only regret was that it was too short. Pancakes are "to die for". Jeremy P, Ft Laudedale

The Boxwood Inn of Williamsburg is simply one of the most charming and comfortable B&B's around. The home is beautifully and tastefully furnished, while making one feel right at home wherever you sit. The gardens, though confined by available space, are beautifully well-kept and filled with blooming plants and foliage that make you feel cozy and welcomed. On this, our second stay around our anniversary, we decided to make it a yearly event. Williamsburg is a magical place, especially in the summer. We will be back!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon this summer. Our room, the Jefferson Room, was lovely and spacious. (The pictures, although beautiful and inviting, do not give an accurate representation of how wonderfully decorated the rooms are.) The service was wonderful. We especially enjoyed the fact that coffee was available through out the day. Breakfast was as delicious as it was ample. We really didn't need lunch after such a feast. (The house specialty, pecan French toast, is a must to sample.) We greatly appreciated the fact that we could walk to Colonial Williamsburg after each breakfast. We would love to go back for Christmas!

We stayed in this B&B in July '08 and August '07 and absolutely love it! We stayed in the Washington Carriage House in '08 and the Jefferson Room in '07. Both rooms are very comfortable and romantic. The Carriage House is very private and has a great Jacuzzi tub, walk-in shower, and 4 post bed, great for a romantic getaway. The Jefferson Room is decorating very nicely and is value oriented. The breakfast is delicious and you eat at a long table with the other guests if you so choose. The patio and garden are spectacular. The owners are friendly and ready to serve. We love this B&B and will definitely stay again when we travel to Williamsburg.

Our stay at the Boxwood Inn was most magnificent. Our eyes were greeted with the most charming house with a beautiful garden perfect for enjoying our morning coffee (which was the best cup of coffee on our whole trip!). We were met by our gracious host Steve - I was only sorry we were unable to meet his wife as well (who was away for the week). We had the opportunity to visit two of the other guest rooms besides our own and all three, and the sitting, sun, parlor and dining room were equally tastefully decorated in simple and period style furnishings. The before and after scrapbook offered a glimpse of exactly how much work it took to turn that house into the beautiful treasure it now is. The house was full of cheery windows, colonial colors and fantastic authentic wood floors - and don't even get me started on the fantastic art finds in every room! We enjoyed a fantastic night's stay in the very comfortable room after enjoying a whirlpool bath. In the morning, after the coffee in the garden off the back porch, Steve treated us and the other three couples to a most delicious breakfast of Canadian bacon, egg and cheese souffle and dutch apple pancakes - all of which were excellently prepared. Along with orange juice and coffee and water, the man was a culinary genius (because I can barely manage something even similar to that with 2, much less 8!). We were so sad to leave after just 2 nights, and the rest of our vacation evenings/nights paled in comparison to the exceptional time we had at the Boxwood Inn. Steve was an exceptional help in choosing our meals in Williamsburg, and was a very enjoyable host in conversation. I have been to 3 B&B's now, and this one was by FAR not only the best stay and most value for the cost, it was the most tastefully and delightfully decorated and inspiring. My wife and I have just returned to England from a two-week vacation touring Virginia and Maryland having spent 4 nights at A Boxwood Inn. This lovely bed and breakfast proved to be a perfect choice situated a short drive or about 15 minutes walk from Colonial Williamsburg and with easy access to Jamestown and Yorktown. On arrival we were given a tour of the immaculately furnished house and lots of information about the local area. Our room was small but very comfortable with a well-appointed private bathroom across the corridor (all the other rooms have en-suite facilities). The breakfasts were delicious and beautifully presented. The innkeepers Steve and Sandi are very knowledgeable about the area and its history and offer lots of tips to get the best out of your visit. We can thoroughly recommend A Boxwood Inn for a stay in Williamsburg.
