Another wonderful stay at the Gay Street Inn

    May 01, 2013

A visit at the Gay Street Inn is great at any time of the year, but it's especially beautiful in the spring. The Inn has an inviting garden in the back, and just across the street, flowering trees lend their color. If you are not motivated to shop or go to wine country, the front porch is a great choice for reading and relaxation. Hosts Kevin and Jay are extremely helpful with information about the area, giving out maps (some hand-drawn) and advice, as well as making reservations. For those of us who do not get a cell phone signal in that area there is a house phone readily available. We did not spend a lot of time in our room, but it was tastefully decorated, roomy, comfortable, and clean. Breakfast was excellent and well-balanced, and we did not need lunch when we ate Inn breakfasts. Wine in the afternoon and port&chocolates in the evening were lovely touches. We love our visits to the Gay Street Inn in the small town of Washington because we feel so much at home there. We hope to return soon.

    A night in Washington Virginia

    February 06, 2013

My wife and I celebrated or anniversary at the Gay Stree Inn. When we arrived we were met by Kevibn and show to our room and given an explanation of the B&B. After we settled in, Kevin suggested we have a glass of wine in the Libary room and sit by the fire. A very nice touch. We had dinner reservations at the Inn of Little Washington. Kevin explained that when we returned from dinner there would be Port and an extra log for the fire. We commented to Kevin how impeccably the Inn was maintained. Kevin was quick to give the credit to his house keeper Edie.We had the pleasure of meeting Edie at breakfast the next morning. Our romm was very comfortable. We had view of the mountains and the Inn's yard. We look forward to visitiong again. I think the fall when the trees are changing colors would be a fantastic time to visit. I would recommend the Gay Street Inn if anyone is planning a visit to Washington Virginia.

    Great stay in teh country

    December 05, 2012

Washington, Virginia in Rappahanock county. There are no traffic lights in the whole county. The Gay Street Inn is right in the center of town, which is only a few blocks long. Very comfortable B&B, the hosts helped plan our activities. Breakfast was very good.

    A quiet getaway with quality

    November 26, 2012

Tasteful, well-appointed decor with no froufrou. Wonderful hospitality (a cozy, warm fire in the fireplace...sherry and chocolate after dinner...) and a gourmet brkfst in a sunny brkfst room. One of the best B&Bs we've stayed in over the years.
