    What a find!

    April 09, 2013

We had stayed at another B&B several years ago but it was being renovated, so we stayed at the Foster Harris House. So very glad we did. The room was thoughtfully appointed, and the bathroom was clean and bright. The common areas were all lovely. The breakfast was outstanding, and Diane and John are perfect hosts.

Absolutely every detail for comfort is considered. The welcoming fire, the glass of wine upon arrival, the fashion emergency kit, the rain fall shower, the wonderful smelling bathroom amenities and finally the amazing four-course breakfast to send us on our way. We will definitely return!

    Amazing.

    May 11, 2011

After one night in the suite here, I thought about selling everything I owned and moving in. I am still thinking about it. John and Diane are lovely, friendly and welcoming folks who truly make you feel at home. If your home was a lovely country manor with a beautiful view out the window, overlooking a well maintained garden and rolling hill, followed by an amazing 5 star 4 course breakfast. Stella the dog was an added draw. This place is lovely, so well maintained, the pride of the owners really shows, it is the closest thing to paradise I have found within hours of DC. I plan to go back here time and time again, this is by far the nicest B & B I have ever been to.

    Must Do for B & B lovers

    February 25, 2010

We love the Foster Harris House! We have been coming here every year at Thanksgiving for the past 5 years just in order to receive the "royal treatment". Although the food, the hospitality and idyllic location alone make the Foster Harris House a must do on the B&B enthusiasts' list, John and Diane MacPherson make the extra effort to ensure that their guests feel 'at home' in their home. And yet, they seem to do it effortlessly. We always feel completely welcomed and know that our time here will be thoroughly enjoyable. What a treat to get away from life's general mayhem and, at least for a day or two, be spoiled rotten!¿David and Richard

    Wedding Anniversary

    October 15, 2009

My husband and I celebrated our 44th Wedding Anniversary were extremely pleased with the warmth and welcoming we received from Diane and John. Our two evening stay was just what we had hoped for. We enjoyed all the amenities including a bicycle ride and walks on the Blue Ridge. We were close to fine dining which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our guest rooms and breakfast were a wonderful treat and we'll return.

    a treasure in Washington

    June 27, 2009

My husband and I planned a long weekend in Washington, mostly for the great biking, Civil War battlesites and a special meal at the Inn at Little Washington. Little did we realize that our stay at The Foster Harris House would be another highlight on the trip and not simply a place to sleep. The innkeepers, Diane and John, were outstanding host, tending to our every need. The place is spotless, good beds and the bathroom has a really cool rainfall shower. The breakfast served at the inn are absolutely delicious. Go here if you want a special weekend.
