The Black Horse Inn, Warrenton, VA is an historic, hunt-country estate located just 45 minutes from Washington, D.C. and 35 minutes from Dulles Airport in the Mid-Atlantic Region. This Northern Virginia bed and breakfast provides lodging for the most discriminating traveler, with bountiful breakfasts and an afternoon tea. Circa 1850, this gracious, plantation-style home served as a hospital during the Civil War. The Black Horse Cavalry frequented this location, near Manassas Battlefield. Recently restored, the Inn has eight rooms, all with their own private baths, many with four-poster canopy beds, Jacuzzi tubs and fireplaces. The Inn also accommodates horses in their stables for overnight visits.

4.2 out of 5Relaxing Get Awary at Black Horse Inn
May 03, 2011
I used a BedandBreakfast gift card for a relaxing weekend at the Black Horse Inn. I live in DC and even with a little bit of rush hour traffic the drive only took about 1 hour and 20 minutes. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous! We even drove by the famous Gold Cup race horse track on the way to the inn. We arrived a bit later in the evening and the evening staff was very accomodating and friendly. Around dusk both nights we sat in the sun room and nibbled on cheese, crackers, and wine all complimentary from the Inn and set up for us in the sun room. Had two faboulous dinners, Friday and night at Girasole Italian Restaurant and Saturday night at Poplar Springs...both absolutely delish and even better than many DC restaurants on the top 100 list. Breakfast consisted of omlets and french toast with fruit and sausage and homemade orange juice. Each evening we would return to the Inn and chat with other guests or sit by ourselves by the fire and enjoy port and cookies provided by the inn. The rooms were fantastic, clean, and spacious. One day wee went on a horseback ride (when in rome) and it was awesome! Sunday we hit up some wineries to end our perfect weekend. I would definitely go back to the black horse inn. It is very romantic and would be a perfect setting for a wedding due to the friendly staff and impecable and well manicured grounds. A must see!!!! Thanks again and we'll be back soon!
5 out of 5The Best Wedding I could have Imagined!
October 12, 2009
Having my wedding at the Black Horse was the best decision I could have made. My husband and I, though legally married several years, had never had a real wedding due to illness and financial issues. Lynn saw to it that when we did have our wedding that it was absolutely perfect! The staff at the Inn were completely attentive to my family and our needs. I am still hearing about what a wonderful night it was from friends and family that attended. As I look through our pictures I relive that day and the feeling of complete bliss and happiness that I felt that day comes back to me again. I keep a picture next to my desk to give my spirits a lift whenever I need one! All I can say is that I can't imagine a better wedding or a better place to have a wedding!
4.6 out of 5Beautiful and Above the Rest

I had traveled alone to enjoy the scottish festival and called to inquire about an overnight stay. The individual I spoke with was so warm and accommodating I knew I had to stay. I stayed in the apartment next to the stables. It was the grandest with every attention to detail. The views are lovely with horses and rolling hills. The grounds were impecibly landscapped. The house was world class with warmth and charm of olden days. I was immediately relaxed. The bed linens were beautifully designed. This house by far exceeded my expectations and Cape May can't even compare to it! The owner, Lynn, was so gracious and warm that I will definitely go there again. The history of the home and the labor of love she has endured to have this home look the way it does definitely speaks to her passion for it. You truly feel welcome.

5 out of 5Special Memories
February 01, 2007
I stayed twice last year at the Inn and each time I felt I had been to a little piece of heaven. The last stay was for a wedding that was straight out of bridal dream books. I have never participated in anything so lovely. The beautiful outdoor setting provides a perfect background for any occasion. The food great, the facilities super nice, the decor grand, the friendly atmosphere all provided an exceptional experience. It's a wonderful place to stay. I have been there many times over the years and never have I been disappointed. The hunt country location is unique and offers so much to do. I can't wait to return and create more special memories.
5 out of 5great weekend!
January 21, 2007
I stayed in the Fox & Grape. It is the most unique room at the Inn, most quiet, most private. Own private entrance. Men love it because it has a masculine decor with hand-hewn beams and stone walls. Other rooms were spectacular too, like Great Expecations, where I stayed several years ago--a massive suite with a great jacuzzi, fireplace and a warm sitting porch, just perfect for snuggling up with a good book. Great breakfasts, helpful staff. Lot's to do in the area.
5 out of 5Spectacular accomodations at The Black Horse Inn
January 20, 2007
You've got to visit The Black Horse Inn!! I've been a guest numerous times at the Black Horse Inn and was married in the absolutely fabulous wedding facility, The Gilded Fox, adjacent to the Black Horse Inn a few years ago! I must say that I highly recommend the Inn for anyone as a weekend getaway or wedding venue! In fact, The Inn is featured in the January issue of "I Do" magazine for the Washington DC metro area!! You'll enjoy true graciousness from the remarkable owner, Lynn Pirozzoli, who offers "southern living" style hospitality, making every guest feel welcomed and special. The spectacular accomodations are always first class. I have enjoyed staying in almost every beautifully decorated room( each with a private bath, no less!). Some of my friends also married at The Black Horse Inn and return for anniversary weekends! If you are looking for peaceful, beautiful, pastoral, scenic views of grazing horses or gardens, instead of boring hotel views, then I recommend The Black Horse Inn and encourage anyone looking for a fabulous weekend getway or considering a wedding venue, to choose The Black Horse Inn! You won't be disappointed!
