This was are second trip. Tried a different room ( not saying which because I don't want anyone else to have it when we go back), not a bad spot on the property. Nice areas to walk, great sights to see, only 10 minutes to downtown Winchester. I'm not a foodie but OMG, the breakfast is incredible. Haven't tried dinner as we are usually in Winchester at night. Barry and Neil make you feel like you own the place and are a blast to talk to. Already planning the next trip there. We usually go with one other couple but bringing more with us next time.

The inn is very cozy, inviting and is full of antebellum and eclectic charm. The food was better than I had anticipated and everything we ate was well thought out and really delicious. You can really tell that there is a pride in ownership at the inn and the staff was always helpful and very courteous. My wife and I have stayed at quite a few B&B's and this one is definitely on the top of our list to return to. Thank you for a relaxing and enjoyable visit.

Our stay at the Inn at Vaucluse Spring once again was perfect. My husband and I absolutely love the serenity of this B&B and find it so relaxing from our busy schedules to find such a wonderful place that feels like home. The breakfast and Saturday evening dinner was outstanding. We look forward to the creations that Adam will put together for dinner.

We absolutely loved our stay. Beautiful grounds and we loved the house we stayed in. Highly recommend it!

The Inn at Vaucluse Spring was the second of a 3 Inn vacation trip that my wife and I took recently and we could not have been more pleased with what we found on this stop. Everything about our stay from the quality of out cottage, to the quality if the service to the breakfast and dinner fare really could not have been better. We stayed two nights and will definitely be repeat guests to Neil's and Barry's place

The Inn at Vaucluse Spring is a fantastic destination for a long weekend. The service is just right, never overwhelming but there when you need it. The optional dinner was wonderful and the rooms and Inn itself are beautifully kept. One of the owners checked in with us daily and we were right in the midst of wine country. Very highly recommended

We stayed on a slow evening. Very nice clean building, beautiful setting. Our breakfast was excellent and the innkeeper was very friendly. Great value since we were there on a weekday.

We could only stay one night at this beautiful inn but we think it would be an excellent place to stay for a few days and just relax. Neil and Barry are very welcoming and their property is lovely.

We can't comment highly enough on the accommodations, decor, warmth, service , and host/hostess friendliness we have found over the last 6 years at the Inn at Vaucluse Springs.

This is my second stay at the Inn, and it has been MAGICAL both times. The setting and ambience are worth the drive there. The dining experience is wondrous; the courses are the perfect size and very pleasing to my discriminating palate. It is a great place to de-stress, unplug from a noisy word, and enjoy a setting and atmosphere that is unparalleled in the commonwealth. I will be going back many times for many more great experiences. If you're looking for an intimate location that offers lots of quiet time and comfortable settings, take the trip. You will glad you did!!

I was looking for a nice retreat while visiting a local bluegrass festival, and was very surprised by the experience at Vaucluse. After weighing the tradeoffs, I opted to splurge and stay in the Cabin. It is an absolutely beautiful location and well worth the extra cost. Whether or not you stay at the Cabin, be sure to book at least one dinner at the inn: the chef and sommelier do an excellent job of balancing flavors of the meal with the wine recommendations. Combined with the beautiful setting, it's a true foodie experience.

Disappointed with breakfast. Never got a chance to order anything. Got a muffin which was good, fruit bowl good and poached eggs over grits which we don't eat. Never had and option to order something normal like french toast, pancake's or scrambled eggs with bacon. Hard to believe you just get what ever they decide to fix!

Outstanding chef. Our stay at the main house for 3 nights was delightful.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Inn at Vaucluse Spring. We stayed in the cabin and it far exceeded our expectations. Barry and Neal are gracious hosts and we enjoyed talking to both of them. The cabin was immaculate and comfortable. Loved the little decorative touches and enjoyed sitting on the front porch. Breakfast and afternoon tea was exceptional. Creative food that tasted great. They had remembered that my husband was a picky eater and made a special breakfast for him that he thoroughly enjoyed. The gardens and grounds are amazing. We enjoyed exploring and taking many pictures. We went to movie night at Veramar vineyard and also spent a day exploring Harpers Ferry. We highly recommend the Inn at Vaucluse Spring and we will definitely stay again on future trips.

We spent an afternoon and night in this beautiful Inn comprised of several buildings situated on a gorgeous property. A wonderful swim in the outdoor pool followed by a stroll through the woods with our wine to sit beside the Mill pond was relaxing after a long drove and before dinner at a nearby restaurant. We stayed in the 1875 log cabin where we enjoyed the fireplace shared by both bed and bathroom. The downstairs rooms and porch were ours to enjoy as well though there was a bit of a smokey odor from the fireplace. Our hostess, Neil was warm and extremely helpful and accommodating with suggestions for dining and places to visit nearby. A delicious 3 course breakfast made it hard to leave this beautiful and welcoming spot.
5 on August 21, 2013
My husband and I stayed here for two nights and we included dinner in our reservation. We were amazed by the delicious food each morning and how clean the place was. There wasn't a speck of dust anywhere, no joke, it was spotless, even under the bed was dust free, attention to detail like this really impressed us. Aside from the delicious food, the property is very tranquil and relaxing. They are located on 108 acres and have several different properties to choose for your stay, we stayed in the manor house and we're glad we did. The manor house has a back porch with rocking chairs, it was perfect to sip lemonade and eat cookies (they offer mid-afternoon snacks too). I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway on a weekend.
5 on August 12, 2013
We returned to the Inn at Vaucluse Springs for a two night stay. It rained most of the first day, but we still walked a bit and went to Winchester and had the best meal of our lives with Chef Adam that evening. We were the only two diners and had the opportunity to discuss the five courses served and the wine pairings which were excellent. Not inexpensive, but a most memorable meal and another lovely time there.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was only for one night, but it was very nice. We would go back. We heard great things about the chef, and enjoyed his fabulous omelets, but didn't have the opportunity to dine there for dinner.

Just another wonderful and relaxing stay at Vaucluse. We are addicted to the place and go every couple of months for the same reason.

The Inn was all we hoped it to be! We stayed in the Mill House and were put to sleep each evening by the gentle sound of the water flowing over the race. Not having a TV was great as we really felt we had "gotten away". But the crowning experience was our private anniverdsary dinner provided by Chef Adam. OUTSTANDING! Highly recommend eating here if you stay. He's terrific!.
5 on July 12, 2013
Well, we finally returned to the Inn at Vaucluse Springs, after 13 years. Guess what? It hasn't changed a bit. The grounds are still well maintained, nature still flourishes, the peace, serenity and beauty still abound, the rooms are still nicely decorated and cozy, the meals and service are still amazing, and Neil and Barry are still the consummate hosts. Our visit was exactly what we needed and we won't make the mistake of allowing so much time to pass between visits again. If you're looking to truly get away, relax, enjoy some excellent food and company, then this is the place for you!

We spent another wonderful weekend at the Inn at Vaucluse Spring, our favorite B&B. This time we stayed in the Cottage on the Hill, the only building on the property we hadn't stayed in yet. We loved the shady little terrace outside our door. The food was fabulous as usual. We've stayed at dozens of B&B's across the country and overall this is our favorite B&B

Our family held a reunion at Vaucluse to visit our ancestral home with 3 great-great-great-great grandaughers and 2 great-great-great-great-great grandaughters attending. Vaucluse was designated a historic ruin when the Myers purchased this gem in the mid-90's and they restored it with sensitivity and historic accuracy when possible. The rooms are filled with antiques creating a warm ambiance for your visit. The Myers are delightful and attentive innkeepers. Breakfast is elegant. We can't wait to return. Delightful!

My husband and I chose to come here for a weekend getaway for his 30th birthday. The Inn far surpassed our expectations in every way, starting with the mini history lesson from Neil over iced tea and cookies when we arrived. The grounds and rooms were beautifully maintained and we felt like we were in the middle of a country estate with nothing around for miles. We stayed in the Margaret's Room which was a nice touch of privacy while still being close to the Manor House. However, I have to say that the food and service were by far the bet part of the stay. Breakfast and dinner are a relaxed yet intimate meal, and the staff take great care to look out for guests. For example, I had picked a few blueberries out of my delicious scone the first morning, so the second morning I was asked if I wanted a different fruit selection instead. I hadn't said a word, they were just so incredibly observant and kind! The whole experience was just wonderful, and I am sure we will return at some point in the future.

Arriving in late afternoon after a long drive, I was somewhat grumpy as I pulled into the Inn during a thunderstorm. All of that faded after I was shown to my spacious, beautifully appointed room and completely vanished as I discovered that having booked dinner with my reservation, I was to be treated to a 5 course dinner, all by myself in the dining room with Chef Adam cooking and serving one of the best and freshest meals I've had the pleasure to eat in a long time. I'll certainly return and could recommend the Inn and it's very friendly owners and chef to anyone.

We would like to thank the inn keepers Neil and Barry for a most pleasant stay. They were so accommodating and helpful during our visit. Our breakfast was a five star meal and presented so beautifully. Its was fascinating hearing about the history from the inn keepers and viewing the photos taken during the restoration and transformation of the inn. We are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you so much Neil and Barry.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Inn at Vaucluse Spring. We are history buffs so the manor house was of major interest to us. Beautifully restored. We stayed in the cottage near the manor house which was very convenient for meals. We had dinner at the Inn on Saturday night and that was an excellent culinary experience. Our room had a bit of a musty smell to it that dissipated after our second day there. Neil and Barry are very kind and helpful. It is a wonderful place to relax as there are no televisions in the cottage we were in. Activities close by were taken advantage of by my family. We golfed at Jackson's Chase and had a wonderful trail ride at Double H Stables, both in Front Royal but only 15 minutes from the Inn. We will definitely be going back. As in a previous review, my wife and I were wondering if we were on the right road leading to the stately Manor that grabbed our attention in the Select Registry and found on the website. But just as the green of spring sneaks up on you, The Manor House and Cottages appear, and the pictures come to life. This was a little spring getaway from the big city to a country retreat. When we arrived on the property, we found such diverse accommodations from a 200 year old Manor House to a Mill Studio that sits amidst the spring located mid point on the property. Surrounding the accommodations, were well manicured rolling hills and a variety of trees and plants littered throughout the property. We stayed in the Barton Room of the Manor House and each morning we were greeted with friendly and attentive service from the Chief to the Owner. The Owners made you feel as though you were their only guess sitting down to have a conversation with you at the end of the day or making a toast at dinner time ensuring the guests that they are appreciated and return guess are acknowleged as valued customers. The food was a surpise and delight. The Breakfast meal was to die for and afternoon homemade cookies and refreshments were the treat in our day. Overall, we felt as though we had found Heaven tucked away in Virginia at the Inn At Vaucluse Springs.

We had a wonderful wedding anniversary weekend. This was our 5th or 6th visit! Neil and Barry make us feel like we are part of the family. Stayed in the main house this time, but all of their rooms are wonderful - each unique from one another. The Mill House is extra special! We will keep coming back - a great get away with lots to see and do in the surrounding area.

My two sisters and I stayed here for two nights for our annual Sister's Weekend. The whole experience was fabulous! We couldn't have been treated better and the food and rooms were wonderful. Neil and Barry were there to greet us every time we turned around and the staff was exceptional. I highly recommend the Inn for a romantic get-a-way, a weekend like my sisters and I did or even an event like a wedding or family reunion. First class all the way!!!

Recently stayed at this B&B. the young chef Adam was excellent. We ate dinner at the Inn and our meal was marvelous. That was definitely the highlight of our stay. Otherwise a very average place. The room was adequate and clean but nothing special. If you are passing through and want to stop for an overnight stay with a great meal this is the place but do not go out of your way otherwise.

I'm apprehensive about writing this review as I'd like to keep it a secret, but I must return the favor of their hospitality. This place is an absolute gem. Likely the most romantic weekend you'll spend so close to DC. Check out some wineries, go hiking, ride horseback... The area has lots to offer, but be sure to relax and take it all in. We found that exploring a site and hitting a single vineyard was the perfect day. We stayed in the cabin and it was sublime. Not a single detail was unchecked; Barry, Neil, and the staff have done an amazing job putting together and maintaining the property. Dining was top-notch and you won't find anything to rival it close by. You'll be asked if you'll be staying for dinner when you make your reservation... Just say yes. Trust me, I did the research. Chef Adam and the staff are outstanding. I reviewed countless places within four hours of the DC area before selecting Vaucluse for our first anniversary. I have no doubt that it was not only the best option, but the closest. A real no-brainer and we can't wait to go back!

My husband and I spent a weekend at Vaucluse in celebration of our 2nd anniversary, and it was lovely! Everything from the warm welcome at the door, to the delicious 4 course dinner and 3 course breakfast, to the spacious, clean and inviting bedrooms, to the lovely landscapes. It was just wonderful!

We have stayed at the Inn at Vaucluse multiple times and have always had an outstanding visit. Barry and Neil are the most gracious hosts. We enjoy staying in B&Bs instead of hotels, and have stayed in countless B&Bs. But the Inn at Vaucluse is the crown jewel of them all.

Stayed in the Manor House which is simply beautiful and elegant - not sure I would have been happy in one of the out-building cabins though. Barry is a lovely host and all of the staff were friendly and professional. Dinner was a little disappointing from a portion size and wine list perspective - but the service was excellent. Breakfast was terrific and also beautifully presented. Overall, a very nice place to stay.

Stayed At the Inn at Vaucluse Spring to celebrate wedding anniversary because we had such fond memories of previous stay at the Inn. Perfect choice! The owners/mangers, Neil and Barry, are gracious hosts and take time with each guest , making all feel most welcome. The facility is super clean and neat, and one can not say too much about the food. Fantastic Chef prepares world class dinner and is personally engaged with each guest. The breakfast is equally good. We will go back again and again to this excellent Inn.

The drive through the property to the Inn is only the tip of the iceberg of what awaits at the end of the road. Charm, elegance and total relaxation is obvious entering the Inn. Neil and Barry along with their well trained staff have seen to it that your stay will be unforgettable. If one appreciates period restorations, you will not be disappointed. We were looking for a nice weekend get away in the Winchester area and came across The Inn atVaucluse Spring. What a great experience! The room was clean, tidy and very pleasant. We enjoyed the Friday night dinner of excellent food, great service and good company. Mr. and Mrs. Myers are superb hosts and we look forward to returning some time. Thank you Neil and Barry for your part in what turned out to be a fantastic weekend. The Pickells from Lancaster County, PA

The Inn has a main building and several other buildings scattered on 100 acres. Ours was located next to a pond. The setting was beautiful - the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. The innkeepers were friendly and always available to answer questions. Breakfast was served in the main building, an early 19th century manor house that has been restored. There is an option for a multi course dinner on weekends; we dined on Friday evening; it was prix fixed with no options; delicious.

As you can see from our review, we were so pleased with our stay at the Inn at Vaucluse Spring. Rooms were exceptionaly clean and the decor was perfect. The bathroom was more than up to my expectation. Large, clean and a jacuzzi tub. Heaven since we don't have one at home. Chumley House was so fun to stay in with all of the history attached to it and the huge porch and a very modern kitchen to use. The pool was great; again clean and inviting. As for the food, the chef at the Inn, Adam, is a very very talented person. He absolutely excells in everything he prepares. No rushing to finish. A man who takes pride in his profession. So, all and all, what more to say? as McArthur said "I shall return." Suzy and Matt Wheeler

If one looks up the phrase "bed and breakfast" in a dictionary, most likely there is a picture of the Inn at Vaucluse Spring. Although travelers must be ever alert to negotiate the pathway that leads to the Inn, once there, lodgers are transported to a relaxing, bucolic and historic experience.

We booked online just an hour before we arrived at the Inn. The innkeeper gave us a call right away and asked if we have special requests for our breakfast etc. We got a very warm welcome when we arrived and even got an upgrade as not all rooms were occupied during the week. The house and especially our room was just wonderful with a lot of details and very nice antiques. We enjoyed the three course breakfast and had a last cup of coffee in one of the rocking chairs at the veranda with a nice view in the huge garden. Very relaxing and quiet!

Best B&B in Virginia!
5 on August 06, 2012
The inn was the very best we have stayed in. We have traveled the world but now have found our spot. Chef Adam was amazing as well as his food. He really is the top of the top chefs in VA/DC area. Barry the inn keeper was so kind and helpful. We really enjoyed the inn and will be back very soon.

My wife found this B&B by searching the internet for B&B's in Virginia. She found The Inn at Vaucluse Spring and it was perfect for us. We opted to also include dinner in our package. The meal and service was excellent. The chef came out with each course and explained the course, it's ingredients and how it was prepared. Our server was also excellent. In our 28 years of marriage, we said to each other, have we ever had a more elegant meal. This was the best.
5 on July 31, 2012
We've been to the Vaucluse Inn twice now, and both times the food has been outstanding. The "simple" Friday evening fare is better than most restaurants, and the chef starts his preparations for the six course Saturday evening dinner on Wednesday. Highly recommended for a romantic weekend getaway less than two hours from DC. The innkeepers are welcoming and the whole experience is excellent.

This b&b exceeded our expectations in every way. Our room was beautifully decorated in period pieces yet had a wonderful modern bathroom which is hard to find. The innkeeper Barry and wife Neil could not have been any more accommodating. There were always around if you needed them but never hovering. The staff has been there for years which is a testament to our hosts. This inn had a pool which was very clean and they supplied the luxurious towels. It was very quiet in the main house which is where our room was. We never heard anyone in the kitchen or dining room. There is plenty of history and antiques around town to keep you busy and the mountains are breathtaking. There is also a drive in movie theater 5 minutes down the road for a bit of old time fun. Don't hesitate to try this b&b. I'm sure you will become on of the many returning guest as we will be

My husband and I returned to this bed and breakfast, after our previous visit was cut short by real bad weather. It's a great place for quiet time with loved ones. The breakfast was awesome and creative. Barry and Neil were both so professional and personable. They made us feel very welcome!! The Zane room was beautifully and tastefully decorated. We had lush towels and rugs, fire place and a very comfortable bed. The downstairs has a shared living room/kitchen area which is perfect to store cold items, or just to hang out and place board games (which they had available) The properly is breathtaking. It was a real getaway from busy DC life! We will definitely return, as it will be hard to measure up other B & B s to this place.

This was my third stay at The Inn at Vaucluse Spring (all have been weekend getaways) and it and it's staff continued to impress! Each visit has been a pleasure. There Inn has numerous types of rooms, in various buildings, to choose from and each is impressive, clean, and has it's own flare; the grounds are beautiful and well kept; a scrumptious three-course breakfast is served daily and is included in the cost of your room; definitely join the Myers and their wonderful chef Adam, for dinner, if you have the time. You won't be disappointed! The food and company are always great. Everyone on the staff is friendly and very personable. They go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. I highly recommend the Inn whether it's for a one night stay or a longer one. Either way, you'll have a fantastic getaway!

We have been to this inn several times, and it is an outstanding country escape. Perfect hosts, wonderful estate, and the rooms are elegantly furnished, private and very comfortable. I love the breakfasts: what's not to like in a gourmet 3 course breakfast! Best of all - the "iron chef" quality dinners alone are worth a trip from the DC area for any gourmet food lover; be prepared to be wowed with sensory pleasures.

We recently made our first visit to The Inn at Vaucluse Spring but it certainly will not be our last. Hosts Barry & Neil were full of hospitality and very welcoming. They provided lots of information about things to do in the area. Saturday night dinner was simply outstanding with great service. Breakfasts were delicious. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with its king bed. We feel fortunate to have the Inn recommended to us by total strangers at a wine tasting and are happy to highly recommend it to others. We really enjoyed our weekend stay.

My husband and I had a wonderful anniversary weekend at Vaucluse. The grounds are beautiful, and everything was very clean. We stayed in the Chumley Homeplace, which has an "old but grand" hunting lodge feel. Our room was comfortable and homey. A notebook in our room answered all the questions we had about how the place ran, and there was a lot of info on the area and activities in the main house. The owners and staff clearly love their jobs! It was a great weekend.

Enjoyed the Hite Suite. Was staying alone and it suited my needs well, though it could have easily accommodated two more. Bath was nicely appointed. Loved the pool under the stars, thank you for the towels! Had nice walks around the property, and took a nice run down the country road. Bed was very comfortable and the charm of the building...wonderful. It was spotless. Hosts and staff were gracious. Nice indulgence and I hope to return.

I cannot say enough about how splendid this property was for our stay. Beautiful grounds, lovely rooms and everything charmingly restored with attention to historic detail. Hosts Neil and Barry were warm and welcoming and when we walked into the Chumley House we were just blown away by how gorgeous this home was with its lovely downstairs sitting room overlooking the pool. We stayed upstairs in the Chumley Suite and found it roomy, comfortable, and equally charming. The hosts here are consummate professionals and haven't missed a beat when providing everything necessary for your stay. What a magnificent place this would be for a family reunion! We loved every minute of our stay and definitely plan to return. This was a real B&B find for us and we are seasoned travellers. Do not hesitate, you will enjoy your stay.

Everyone should put this inn on their "bucket list"! Well worth going out of your way for! The surroundings are just so serene and peaceful. We stayed in the luxurious Cabin by the Pond. We were only able to stay one night since we were on our way to western Maryland. We briefly got to meet the Innkeepers, Neil and Barry who were very hospitable in a short period of time! We will definitely return and take the opportunity to enjoy dining there on a Saturday evening. The menu looks fantastic!

When one first drives down Vaucluse Spring Lane, one wonders what exactly you're getting yourself into. However, as soon as you make that left turn onto the estate, your worries and cares fall away. The Inn at Vaucluse Springs has been a romantic getaway for myself and my husband, and for countess other couples we've made recommendations to now for since 2009. Barry and Neil are like family. With each visit, we actually dream about breakfast in the morning, three courses of elegantly plated and thoughtful dishes that are farm/garden to table/plate and brimming with creativity and wholesomeness. The hostess is lovely, pleasant, and a joy to talk to. Dinner is a must. You can have a five or six course meal for $65 per person, which is a steal considering the quality, presentation, and attention-to-detail of the food. The chef is so modest, but his dishes are photo-worthy and delectable. My husband and I are major foodies, and this dinner is always memorable. I don't think I have ever had black drum fish, but whenever I hear of it, I will think of this meal. Every time I think about the Inn at Vaucluse Springs, it warms my heart, a feeling that people should get after every vacation (unlike those vacations where you feel like you need another vacation). Highly recommended (though not during the times I am visiting hopefully so it doesn't become impossible to get a reservation!)

The Gabrielle room was a nice room. There was no tv and AC unit was very noisy

We stayed in a quiet, private cabin overlooking the millpond. We could sit and rock on the porch while listening to the birds or explore the rural landscape around the inn. Dinner was what one would expect in a 5-star restaurant in a metropolis, but here we savored it in a lovely restored historical house with impeccable, personal service, followed by a jacuzzi bath and an exquisitely comfortable bed. The owners made us feel as if we were guests in a private home.

We had a wonderful stay at the Inn at Vaucluse Spring. The setting was lovely, the rooms were charming and spotless and the breakfasts were fabulous. I especially loved the very deep jetted tubs! Thank you for a great weekend getaway--we will be back!

The setting is lovely - amidst rolling hills. The accommodations are beautiful, with cool rooms in the summer and fireplaces in every room in the winter. Dining is divine, especially the 5 course Saturday night dinner with chef Adam. Sitting on the porch watching a thunderstorm roll in is a special memory. Great recommendations for daytime activities - from wineries to hiking to the local drive-in movie.

My wife and I were delighted by the Inn at Vaucluse Spring. Though there was distant noise from I-81 traffic, being only a few miles from the interstate was convenient. Power lines nearby were distracting at times, but the beauty of the site and the pastoral setting were exactly what we wanted. The meals were fantastic. The hospitality and service were outstanding. The common spaces (porches, sitting rooms, pool and terrace) were abundant and very pleasant. Highly recommended.

My wife and I just spent two nights at The Inn at Vaculuse Springs. It was our third stay! The grounds, accommodations and eating facilities are immaculate and exceptionally well-kept. The food is 5 star gourmet and the service is friendly, unassuming and impeccable! Neil and Barry are great hosts and go out of their way to insure that their guests are happy! We are looking forward to our next visit! They deserve the excellent rating they receive!

I am a return guest here. I would always choose this Inn when traveling through the area overnight. The breakfast is very good (especially the homemade muffin) The owner is friendly and very helpful. I have no complaints (and I'm not real easy to please) The Chumnley House would be a great place for a large family, traveling together - 4 bedrooms, plus 2 great rooms, a full kitchen and a screened-in porch.. I want to try that sometime.

Property was lovely and inn keepers were very nice. But the room (the cabin) was overpriced considering that the bed was uncomfortable, no comfortable chairs were in room and there were no robes. Food was wonderful and the chef was very nice.

The Inn at Vaucluse Spring is a place of peace and comfort for us. We first went 8 years ago and always love our visits back. Neal and Barry are fantastic hosts and the food is consistently delicious.

What a wonderful place! It's like staying at the home of great friends. The rooms are beautiful and clean, the staff is the friendliest, and the food, ah the food! Don't miss the chance to stay here.

Perfect place for a quiet get away!
5 on April 25, 2012
We have been here 3 times. The owners, and staff are incredible. The food is terrific. You can pick a more social visit, or have a very quite get away. It's like being on a cruise, you can visit with people and hang out, go sightseeing or just relax in your room and read. The views are terrific. The area has a variety of things to do. Old town America awaits as you get away from the hustle of Northern Virginia or DC. A must stay.

My wife and I were looking for a place to stay over Easter weekend. The original Inn that I'd planned on visiting was closed on Easter Sunday, so I scrambled to find another one. The Inn at Vaucluse Spring popped up in my search with many glowing reviews, so I decided to give it a try. Quite simply we were delighted with everything over our two-night stay. Our room (The Zane Room) was delightfully appointed, quiet, and very comfortable. The six course dinner on Saturday night was one of the best meals I've ever had...beautifully prepared and presented in an intimate dining room. Barry and Neil were delightful hosts, providing us tips on places to hike on Sunday as well as helping us find a place to eat on Sunday night. We are looking forward to our next visit to the Inn at Vaucluse Spring. This wonderful place is now tops on our list of places to go for a quiet weekend getaway from the hurly-burly of the Washington scene.

We enjoyed our visit and would definitely return. My golf nut boyfriend almost cried when he discovered no TV in our room and it was the last day of the Masters Tournament. After a nice walk and a great meal at a Jamaican restaurant in nearby Winchester he quickly got over it. Barry and Neil are nice folks and run a top notch b & b. Go, you won't be sorry!

My girlfriend and I spent a splendid weekend here. The rooms were perfect. We wanted something country and relaxing but not grandmothery. This place fit the bill -- tasteful but not stodgy. Lots of nice little details in the room that were fun to observe and talk about. Great books and art all around. Our room (the Jones Room) had a large Jacuzzi which faced a gas fireplace. Wonderful. The staff was very friendly but professional -- they were helpful but never invaded our space. Breakfast and the six course Saturday dinner were delicious and memorable. The surrounding area is full of fun things to do. We enjoyed a hike in Shenandoah and biking around the vineyards to the southeast. I think this place is kind of a hidden treasure, as most of the patrons we met were from the surrounding area and come regularly (a great sign, really, when you think about it -- why pay to stay where you live unless it's really something special?) We hope that this review reaches someone on the internet who is looking for a wonderful, beautiful, memorable place to stay with professional service. Take our word for it: this place is a winner.

My boyfriend and I were in desperate need of a quiet getaway that was far from the hustle and bustle of DC but close enough that we wouldn't spend half our time off getting there and home. We found it at the Inn at Vaucluse Spring. It was clear that great care was taken to make each room unique and special. We stayed in the cottage and enjoyed the fact that it was close enough to the manor that meals were just a quick stroll, but still felt like our own little private getaway. The grounds were beautiful, and we loved strolling around the property, checking out the other buildings and taking off for a short hike into the countryside. Inn Keepers Neil and Barry were simply wonderful, making us feel like old friends with welcome refreshments, Saturday night social gathering, and kind words in passing to make sure we were enjoying our stay. The meals were to die for. We'd initially only reserved for Friday night's dinner, but after that meal we realized that missing the incredible Saturday night extravaganza would be something we'd regret for a long long time. It was easily one of the best meals we've had in our lives, and compared to equivalent meals in restaurants in any major city a bargain. The rest of the staff at the inn, especially the hostesses/servers during the meals, were also fantastic--seemed so happy to be working at the inn and made us feel right at home. We can't wait to return!

What a wonderful weekend get away! Neil and Barry have done a great job in exceeding your expectations of a bed and breakfast. The Inn restoration is beautiful. The rooms were clean, spacious and cozy. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast both mornings were delicious. We stayed in and dined at the Inn for an evening and it was fabulous! It was great to meet the chef and learn about the food he was preparing. We met a handful of other couples, many who have been to the Inn more than once! We look forward to our next visit in the fall!

Neil and Barry made us feel welcome. Snowed while we were there and place was beautiful. Fire in morning and evening in living room. Great attention to detail. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Breakfast and dinner was wonderful. Recommend without any reservations.

I have visited the Inn at Vaucluse Spring several times and always found the accommodations and setting wonderful and the hosts warm and welcoming. The restoration of the historic manor house is stunning, and the three other buildings on the property that I have enjoyed are also impeccable, charming and exquisitely comfortable. Breakfasts at Vaucluse have always been a luxury, and the last time we stayed, we enjoyed Adam's cooking for dinner, which was an adventure in delicious flavors, prepared and combined in ways we had not experienced before. When we want a special treat for ourselves, the Inn at Vaucluse Spring is always a tempting choice. Paul Bennett

We enjoyed the quietness of this place but the convenience to small towns with places to eat, etc. We might visit again but do enjoy traveling to new places The owners were very helpful and very friendly and welcoming!
5 on January 05, 2012
Over all the years and all the visits, we have had stellar service and not one repeat meal. The inn has a lot of character mixed with modern convenience like remote controlled fireplaces. The hosts are very friendly, and they have never steered us wrong recommending different activities during the day. Our most recent stay was in the Mill House, which was formerly where Lord Chumley did his painting. It had two levels, with a nice lounging area on the first floor.
5 on January 02, 2012
Rosalyn and I were personally welcomed at Vaucluse by Neil Myers. We stayed at the Chumley Suite which was warmly furnished, which included an inviting fireplace serving both our bedroom and bath area. Our breakfasts were included with our fare, and they were expertly prepared by Chef Adam, and the wait staff were very professional as well as warm and attentive to our needs. An exquisite 5 course dinner prepared especially for us by Chef Adam wednesday evening. The dinner was very special as I asked for Rosayln's hand in marraige over dessert ... and she said yes. It was a very happy event for us and the Vaucluse management and staff made us feel wonderful to be there at the right moment. Kudos to the nth power! We thank and congratulate them. We plan to return to Vaucluse at our earliest opportunity to enjoy the congenial and warm offerings that the staff and inn very well provide.

We enjoyed our stay very much - the house & grounds were beautiful and the innkeepers very hospitable. They even arranged for us & the couple we were traveling with to have the entire Summer Kitchen level of the house - very nice touch! We are definitely planning to visit the Inn again.

My wife and I recently spent our 1 year anniversary here and were absolutely delighted. Neil and Barry were great, the Inn itself was incredible, and our breakfasts were outstanding. It was everything we hoped for and much more. We stayed in one of the Winter Kitchen rooms in the Manor House and loved the feel of the original stone walls and wood beams, while still having modern comforts. Shenandoah Valley, Luray Caverns, and numerous wineries are all short drive. Nearby Winchester, VA offers some nice places to eat and shop.

We had a Wonderful anniversary stay, even added an extra night. The hosts are outstanding! From the welcome cider & cookies to the special Saturday night dinner all the food was delicious (my favorite is Neil's stuffed French toast!), we enjoyed all the fireplaces, rocking on the front porch, visiting w/chef Adam and other guests, and our picnic with the cows : ) The serene setting was very relaxing, with great places to visit/dine w/in 20 minutes (like fruit markets, historic Handley Library, Roma's etc)

We stayed in the main house, in a basement room. The fireplace warmed us up on a chilly night, and the room was cozy. What a great restoration of a lovely structure. The apple pie at night was wonderful, and breakfast was too. My wife and I would like to travel out on a Friday or Saturday just for dinner sometime, the food is that good. Thanks Barry, for all the warm Virginia hospitality.

A full house over Veterans' Day weekend 2011 enhanced our stay at the wonderfully appointed Inn at Vaucluse Spring. The breakfast offerings were tasty and varied (strada, pastries, fruit, homemade sausages). The Saturday evening social hour preceding dinner was enjoyable for the company and enhanced with spiced hot cider and a fruit and cheese plate. The six course dinner that followed was exquisite and served with a professional flair. Their chef, Adam is very creative; squash soup; scallops and duck were the highlights. Our hosts, Neill and Barry were charming and engaging and more than willing to share their views on the many wineries in the area that are worthy of an afternoon tasting. Easily, my best B & B experience ever.
4.8 on November 13, 2011
The hosts, Barry and Neil, are consummate, experienced, welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding country features and events. The main house where we stayed was roomy, cozy, and wonderfully decorated. It's located away from the city, in a quiet farm area. Chef Adam's Friday and Saturday dinners were spectacular; especially the Saturday 6-course dinner/event! We would have stayed in the B&B all day if Chef Adam would have kept cooking and bringing out more scrumptious meals. Our room was roomy enough to include a sitting area next to the fireplace and a well-equipped library (in addition to the libraries in the other public rooms). Bottom line: this inn is the exemplary B&B with respect to location, service, hospitality and value. The service is spectacular and Chef Adam’s culinary skills sets this B&B apart from other B&Bs.

We stayed here on 10/16 and thought it was wonderful. We were met by Neil (Mrs. Myers) with delicious apple pie and cider. Our room was in the manor house, in one of the downstairs "winter kitchen" rooms, Thornton. It was bigger than I thought it might be from the picture, and very nice with stone walls and a fireplace. Only caveat about the downstairs rooms is that because of the stone walls the internet and cell phone service is spotty. There are 3 rooms downstairs and they share a nice sitting area with huge fireplace as well. The breakfast was terrific, and the grounds are lovely. I highly recommend staying here.
5 on October 17, 2011
Tastefully done in every way. Innkeepers couldn't have been any nicer. The grounds were immaculate. The accomadations were first class. The breakfast menu was outstanding. Would say that The Inn At Vaucluse is the best bed and breakfast that we have ever stayed in and WILL definitley be going back in the future!!!

Barry and Neil are amazing hosts, and their staff is full of awesome, helpful people. They will help you find a place to ride horses, a good pub, a good hiking trail in the Shenandoah National Park, anything and I mean anything you want. I love that they had a photo album of the unbelievable restoration of the gorgeous house. We stayed in the winter kitchen Thornton Room- loved the gas fireplace! Don't miss the dining experience here because breakfasts were so delicious and the Friday night dinner we had was perfection. Also don't miss a walk around the grounds, especially the Vaucluse Spring at the Mill house.

We enjoyed our stay at Vaucluse immensely! Neil and Barry and the support staff are devoted to their guests, the breakfasts and 6 course dinner were outstanding, and the Jones room in the manor house was very comfortable. We would definitely return for another stay!

We had a great two days (3 nights) at the Inn at Vaucluse Spring. The suite that we had reserved was charming, and the in-keepers and their staff were very friendly and quite accommodating. Breakfasts were excellent and relaxed; a perfect way to start the day. We enjoyed walking the paths through the 100 acres of pasture and woods, and spent most of our time on the property - wasn't really a need to get in the car and go find things to do. We definitely had a wonderful time, and the Inn is definitely on our list of places to return to in the future.
4.2 on October 14, 2011
We keep coming back to Vaucluse because it feels like "home"--and so much NOT like our home! Neil and Barry seem to know and remember each guest and have so many return visitors that it's like staying with friends.

My husband and I stayed in the Strother Room in the Manor House to celebrate our anniversary. The room was beautiful with great mountain views. Our hosts were gracious and Saturday night dinner was amazing! The breakfasts were equally delicious. I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone looking to get away for a romantic weekend.
4.8 on October 14, 2011
The Inn is down a gravel road over railroad tracks, past a junk yard and a field of cows. The main house comes into view just before coming to the long driveway. The grounds are beautiful, as is the spring and the many guest buildings. The main house has a warm, welcoming charm that is only exceeded by the welcoming of the owners/innkeepers, Barry and Neil. They make you feel right at home; right down to the warm afternoon snacks of homemade cookies and apple pie. Ourroom exceeded my expectations, with a very comfortable bed, fireplace and jacuzzi. We had supper at the Inn Friday and Saturday night-what a treat. The Chef, Adam is better than most I have encountered. In addition, the wait staff, Kelly and Michelle were terrific, seeing after our every need. The housekeeping staff had our room cleaned by the time we returned from breakfast each morning. I truly hated having to leave this oasis. This is the place to stay if in or passing through Virginia.
4.6 on October 13, 2011
The Inn at Vaucluse is quite charming and comfortable. The grounds are extensive, with mowed paths meandering about. Breakfast was excellent. The two chairs in our room were exceptionally comfortable, as was the bed. The upstairs, where the bedrooms were located, was a bit too warm. I lowered the thermostat and we opened windows (even tho' the screens had been removed [for fall/winter, I suppose]). I would have appreciated a grab-bar in the tub/shower. Otherwise, our stay on 10/06/2011, was most pleasant. P-Sq

We loved The Cabin so much we spent most of our time reading on the front porch or in front of the burning gas fireplace. The truffles Adam made especially for us were delectable (and melted in your mouth). We especially enjoyed waking up every morning to view the mist over the pond and spring.

When booking via the internet even when you have selected your accommodation from a recognised source (Select Registry) it is always a bit of a gamble. The Inn at Vaucluse however was simply wonderful. Excellent accommodation - I had a room in the Chumley Homestead - and delightful hosts and staff. The breakfasts were incredible too. I would love to spend more time but Scotland sadly is a long way away.

We stayed in the Zane Room and were very pleased. The room was comfortable and clean, nicely decorated, plush linens and towels. We had full access to the rustic Chumley house; sitting room, den, screened porch, and kitchen (which had complimentary waters and sodas in the refrigerator). The pool and stone work was beautiful. Awesome views. We toured the nearby wineries, drove along Skyline drive and hiked parts of the Appalachian trail. We did not have the dinners at the Inn, but breakfast was good. I would highly recommend this B&B for a peaceful getaway.

From the upscale top chef dining experience to the high degree of personal service, the Inn at Vaucluse is a weekend stay we will fondly remember. The inn is finely appointed down to the smallest detail and the friendly staff makes a weekend stay the best we've experienced in the last couple of years.

The description says that the inkeepers speak "English," but they also speak "welcome," "humor," "warmth," "comfort," and "fabulous food." The beauty of Vaucluse Spring is unmatched, and the charming and comfortable rooms are the same. The guest book invites visitors to record the animals they saw--Here's what we wrote: "We saw three deer, one badger, and one woodchuck. But we lost our hearts to the tiny, glittering hummingbird feeding two feet away on the morning glories on the porch." Hope you lose your hearts, too.

We had a simply lovely stay at the Inn at Vaucluse Spring. Our room was clean with everything we could have needed, with some nice extra touches. To say that we enjoyed the dining experience would be an understatement, as the food was truly outstanding, as usual (this is our 4th stay). We love coming here. The innkeepers, Barry and Neil, are pleasant and wonderful hosts. We wandered into Winchester on our way home, and were surprised at how much there is to offer in this lovely town. We will certainly return.

The longer we stayed, the more we liked this beautiful place off the beaten path. It was close enough to parks and beautiful mountains, but also to historic sites and many wineries. Food was fabulous, service excellent, and the ambiance was down-home comfortable with upscale touches. Hope to return there very soon.

I chose this Inn for a personal retreat, after some serious research, and it was just right. It was quiet and removed me from the daily grind, including technology. There was cell phone reception on the grounds and internet in the Manor House but I opted to not use the latter. I was able to relax and take in the bucolic scenery and wildlife. The pool was beautifully situated although the weather did not cooperate to allow a swim. It is a unique property in that the rooms are spread out in several buildings on the grounds. The common areas and my room in the Chumley Homestead were attractively decorated with antiques and were aesthetically pleasing. The history of the place is nicely documented for the guests in photo albums. The breakfasts in the lovely Manor House were delicious and my dietary restrictions were carefully honored. The innkeeper was pleasant and helpful. I appreciated the careful attention to detail. I had a very good experience and left wanting to come back again soon.

The Inn at Vaucluse Spring is a marvelous getaway. The rooms are fabulous as are the meals. We had dinner Friday night in addition to our breakfasts. Neil and Barry Myers have created a magical place for you and your significant other to lose yourselves for a couple of days. The rooms are beautiful, the grounds are impeccable, and the staff is among the most friendly I've ever met. The Inn is on a large, beautiful piece of property and the rooms are charming, clean and very tastefully decorated. The innkeeper and staff are all very friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic and they have special dinners on the weekends, in addition to the great breakfasts. One can swim in a most pleasant and well-maintained pool. The inn is located in the lovely Winchester, VA. My husband and I highly recommend it.

This was the most beautiful and relaxing place to unwind for a few days. Because it was mid-week we had a whole house to ourselves the first night including the gorgeous swimming pool. The Innkeeper couldn't have been more accommodating with helpful printed information on where to enjoy vineyards, antiquing, orchards, etc. The refrigerator in our house was stocked with sodas and bottled water for our use. Book shelves all about. The breakfasts were wonderful--each mini-course was a visual work of art as well as simply delicious. All staff and other visitors were so nice. A perfect get-away.

We spent two days at Vaucluse Inn and enjoyed every moment. Upon check-in, Neil helped us map-out a bike ride for the next day, make dinner reservations, and answered all our questions about the property in a delightful way. We rented the cabin by the pond and found the place absolutely charming. The pool was beautiful and breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed our bike ride and found a wonderful farmers market along the way. If you are looking for a romantic, relaxing get away in the Shenandoah Valley, this is the place.

In earlier years we stayed at a number of inns throughtout the area, but once we found Vaucluse Spring it quickly became our favorite. We've been going there for the past 10 years. It's now our home away from home.
4.2 on July 25, 2011
Our group had a wonderful few days in the Chumley House. Everything was superior except for three items: first, no key provided to the door to our room even though strangers kept wandering unaccompanied through the house, second, the Friday supper was not up to our expectations, and third, the seats on the sunporch (the main gathering room) desperately need new, comfortable cushions. However, the breakfasts were excellent, special diets were accommodated, the service was wonderful, the grounds were lovely, and the innkeepers very nice. The pluses far outweighed the minuses. We plan to return.

I recently booked two nights at the Inn at Vaucluse Spring for my husband and I to get away and forget about the cancer treatments he has been dealing with for the past 5 months. I booked our stay based on reviews I read and did not know exactly what to expect. Since both my husband and I are in the Hospitality Business we can be a little picky. I can only tell you that it was a simply perfect getaway. We stayed in the Chumley Suite and found the room to be charming, very neat and clean and comforting. From the moment we arrived and got settled in, I got the impression that the owners and the staff had put a lot of time and care into making sure any need we may have upon arrival was taken care of. The Chumley house had pool towels neatly folded by the front door, insect repellent also near the front door, a coffee maker - complete with instructions and all the necessary suppllies were found in the kitchen as well as a refrigerator fully stocked with sodas and waters. We loved the screened porch, the lovely pool, the well maintained grounds. I guess what really blew us away, however, was the superb quality of the dining experience. The Chef is extraordinary and both my husband and I felt we had enjoyed the best meal of our lives following the Saturday night dinner! Even the breakfast each morning were unique and delicious. The entire staff - from Neal and Barry ( both are full of warmth and charm) to the Chef, the Servers, the Grounds Keeper and the Houskeeper could not have been more wonderful. We are already planning to return. This time we 'd like to take a few additional couples with us.

My wife and I got married at the Inn in 2009, and returned for our 2 year anniversary. The place was just as wonderful as we had left it! The staff are all genuinely caring and sweet, the food is out-of-this-world delicious, and the natural vistas are absolutely breathtaking. The place is clean, quiet, and there is so much to do in the surrounding area (personally, we prefer just driving around the quaint country roads - so peaceful!). One million thumbs-up for the Inn at Vaucluse Spring!

"Spring" is not just a name, but there is a spring. They have a swimming pool, too. There are several guest houses, so if you stay with your family, it's just like you are renting a cottage. Great.

We have stayed at Vau Cluse many times and they continue to be an exceptional place to visit. Barry and Neil created a wonderful retreat almost 20 years ago and over the years we have returned and always enjoyed. The peace and quiet and privacy available is exceptional. One of our favorite places.

We picked this bed and breakfast on a whim, and were very happy with the experience. We did not have dinner at the inn, but the breakfasts were amazing. The staff were kind and helpful, and they had great space to relax, go for a swim, play board games, or read a book. They provided a lot of information about nearby hikes, attractions, and things to do. I highly recommend this location!

The inn was great, the breakfast was very well done and the staff, especially Michelle, went above what was necessary, such as providing coffee for us one evening after dinner. It was relaxed, but still very nice. We would absolutely stay there again, and will try to stay for a dinner!

Our visit was wonderful, it could not have been better. The atmosphere and the breakfast were great.

What a lovely environment - filled with different options for rooms (main house, cottages, log cabin, mill house) and a really friendly staff who are very interested in getting to know their guests. Meals were fabulous! This is a great place to relax, enjoy nature, sit on the porch and watch bunnies and birds and just take it easy - also some nice short trips to historic sites, shopping, etc., if you want to get out a bit. Highly recommended!

The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful, even retrieving an earring lost in the drain. The food was wonderful!

Neil and Barry made our stay wonderful. Best breakfast at any inn we have stayed at, and there have been many.

Everything about The Inn at Vaucluse Springs is relaxing. Barry and Meal ate wonderful, and the staff see to your every need. The Saturday evening dinner is a must-have experience, and I was always looking forward to my next breakfast. The chef is wonderfully talented.

We stayed there for a long weekend in May, and it was really great! The grounds were very pretty, and we had a nice walk around. We stayed in Gabriel's room, which was really close to the main inn, but with only one other room attached to it, so it felt really private. The decor and climate control were both perfectly suited to the inn. The food was AMAZING. Adam is a truly gifted chef. He needs to be on Food Network. We are foodies, and have been to restaurants owned by Masaharu Morimoto and Bobby Flay. Adam could definitely be in that category. Neil and Barry were both very hospitable, and we enjoyed chatting with them. We saw tons of wildlife outside too! We will definitely be back. -Erik and Christina

Breakfasts were excellent. The room was spacious and luxurious. This B&B comapres well to a five star hotel.

Have stayed at Inn at Vaucluse once a year for last three years. First time in main house, second time in Chumley and this time in Gabriels suite in the cottage and each of them has been perfect. Food is excellent at breakfast, Friday night dinner is superb. Neil and Barry are personable and caring hosts.

The Inn was charming and welcoming. The rooms were intimate and immaculate! The hosts most gracious. The grounds make for a lovely walk and I look forward to returning!

We stayed at the Vaucluse for the second time this past weekend and once again, it did not disappoint. We stayed in the Mill House Studio with views overlooking the water and woods. We had the wine dinner the second night with Chef Adam and the Glen Manor Vineyards. The food was amazing. The duck practically melted in my mouth and the wine was perfect! Neil and Barry are absolutely awesome - personable, accommodating and class acts. We have recommended it to all of our friends and we will be back!

We attended the annual Linden vintner dinner and continue to love going back to the Inn. We were married at the in 3 years ago and never get tired of the beautiful property, wonderful staff, exquisite food, and the friendliness of Barry and Neil. It is like coming home for us!

Made a last minute reservation after an afternoon spent touring some local vineyards/wineries. A very charming place; accessible, but recessed from the main roads. The buildings and interiors were lovely, without too many frills ; ) This would be a great place for a family reunion: lots of common areas (porches overlooking the pond, living room with huge stone fireplace), and the grounds are large enough for free wandering.

Just got back from a wonderful weekend at the Inn at Vaucluse Spring. We have been there many times and especially like going to the Linden Wine dinner every year. The chef is excellent and the Friday and Saturday night dinners were both memorable. The chef uses many local products and gets great results. The manor house is stately and the private cottages and cabin are also recommended. There is a lot to do in the area and Neil and Barry, the owners, are very helpful.

Our experiences with meals were far beyond what anyone would expect. Staff carefully read reactions, passing comments to change something at that meal or for the next without ever so much as a comment. Everything was done with understated class and a disarming friendliness.

The grounds are beautiful and every detail is taken into account. Very clean. The innkeepers are really dedicated and give their guests a warm welcome throughout the stay.

Food was frickin' awesome! Dinner was outstanding. Breakfast each morning was delicious, much better than we anticipated. Everyone was very friendly and pleasant to talk to. Location was a little disappointing...due to high tension power lines nearby, gravel road, and junk yard.

The Inn is beautiful and the Inn Keepers are very friendly and attentive. The new chef is excellent and the Valentine's dinner was wonderful. The food was not only delicious but the presentation was beautiful.

Vaucluse has always our favorite b&b - that's why we've been there over a dozen times. It's beautiful, comfortable, and the hosts, Barry & Neil are gracious and friendly. The food has always been outstanding, but now it's a step above, since a young chef from Johnson & Wales (Adam) joined the staff. So when you stay at the Inn at Vaucluse Spring, be sure to have dinner there as well.

Very enjoyable weekend thanks to Neil and Barry Myers at the Inn at Vaucluse Spring. Wonderful accomodations, terrific food and hospitality. The Inn is very well done. Toured some other rooms on the property and all are truly magnificant. Recommend this place to anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of DC.

Friendly, attentive innkeepers and staff in a well maintained bed and breakfast in the Shenandoah Valley. From initial contact to parting they set and maintain a high standard in meeting the needs and wishes of their guests! We have visited many bed & breakfasts and this one is the all around best.

My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at The Inn at Vaucluse Spring. It was our first experience staying at a bed and breakfast and we weren't sure what to expect. Our hosts, Neil and Barry, were welcoming and gracious. We had an outstanding Saturday night dinner prepared by their chef. We checked in Saturday evening and stayed through Monday. We were the only guests Sunday night. Felt like we had the whole place to ourselves! Breakfast each morning was fantastic!! There was a problem with the water heater our last night at the Inn. Neil and Barry were quick to address the issue and kindly comped our last night. Thank you!! We look forward to visiting again.

For those in DC area, the Inn at Vaucluse Spring is a perfect weekend getaway location without having a long drive. The innkeepers are extremely welcoming and helpful. The food is amazing and the accommodations are great as well. We had a room in the Winter Kitchen in the Manor House. What it lacked in the views of the second floor rooms, it made up for with comfort. We had a wonderful stay and will be recommending to friends.

We had a very good overnight stay. There was a problem with our original room but Barry immediately came over, agreed about the problem & transfered us to probably the best room in the Inn - the Jones' room. It was truly beautiful with double aspect, 4 poster bed, 2 lounge chairs, mock log fire, unique bathroom with mock log fire & double size jacuzzi bath! All in a french chateau style.

The Inn at Vaucluse is a wonderful experience. Every year we go back and enjoy it just as much as the first time. Friendly staff with great humor and warmth. Delicious food, the Saturday night dinner is a must. Rooms are very well cared for, clean, and cozy.

We had a tremendous experience at the Inn. Barry and Neil were gracious hosts, the rooms, meals, and grounds were outstanding. There are well over 15 wineries to experience within a 30 minute drive at the entrance to Skyline Drive. Gorgeous weekend at an ideal B and B. I would recommend it to anyone.

Who says there isn't a pot o gold at the end of the road? We had a wonderful weekend stay and plan to return next fall. I'm sorry that our local obligations prevented our partaking of an meal, since the breakfasts were delicious.

It was obvious to us from the moment we drove up the drive that Neil and Barry Myers are detail oriented and meticulous innkeepers. We were welcomed and treated with the utmost level of service. We stayed in the Zane room and were impressed with the cleanliness and high-end furnishings and decor. Breakfast was upscale and delicious. Loved looking out our window at the cows in the pasture!

My husband found this Bed and Breakfast on-line and everything about our stay more than exceeded our expectations. Riding down the dirt road gave no hint of the beautiful property of historical buildings we would find at the "Inn at Vaucluse Spring." The restoration is gorgeous, the furnishings superb, the breakfast was divine! Just what we needed for a short, quiet, romantic get-away. And, the walking path through the cows was just perfect for us!

What an incredible gem in the country!!! If you are looking for a romantic, relaxing getaway at an idyllic country estate - this is the place to go. My husband and I stayed at the Mill House Studio, which has gorgeous views of the pond and pastures, and loved every minute of it. We enjoyed our morning coffee and evening cocktails on the private patio. Even though the Inn was fully booked on Labor Day weekend, it felt like we had the grounds all to ourselves. The dining experiences at the Inn were truly extraordinary! The innkeepers and staff were so warm and attentive. We can't wait to return.

STEP BACK IN TIME! You will fall in LOVE with the property, staff and decor. Neil and Barry will remind you of the day when a business treated their customers with courtesy and quality service. Our company was Fortunate enough to find this location to host a meeting for 20 guests. Neil went out of her way to accommodate us. We were coming from multiple states and this was our meeting point. Food - Delicious!!! Ask for the Tomato Basil soup. Your taste buds will LOVE you! The atmosphere immediately put you in a restful state of mind. We did not want to leave. I look forward to going back. Purely for PLEASURE next time.

I have traveled all over the world and stayed at many hotels, gasthouses and B&Bs but I've never stayed anywhere that I've enjoyed more than the Vaucluse Inn. Barry and his wife Neil go the extra mile no matter how many times you visit them and as always the food is superb (they have wonderful chefs)! My husband and I go to the Vaucluse several times a year and in Dec I am even throwing a pajama party there for my girlfriends and myself! The Vaucluse Inn is wonderful no matter what time of year you go; its great in the spring, a respite from the heat and humidity in the summer and glorious in December! You will always be pleased staying here!!

Picture perfect would truly be an understatement. I held a large family wedding at the bed and breakfast this fall and I would not changed one thing. Neil and Barry the inn keepers, are fantastic, friendly, accommodating to every request. As a bride I am very grateful for everything, my guests feel in love with the grounds and the ceremony by the water was more than any bride could ask for. The memories made over our wedding weekend will last a lifetime. Thank you.

My wife and I have been here twice, each time in the Chumley house. Each room has a fireplace and a jacuzzi tub. The grounds are adorned with various flowers and fresh herbs that are used to prepare meals. You can relax by the side of the pool on warm days, warm up next to the fire on cold days, or relax in a jacuzzi tub on any day. The Chumley house is an old farm house that has had additions placed on it. The living room is very rustic, with the smell of months-old fires still lingering through late summer. There is a nice screened-in porch where you can sit down and read a good book, or have a few glasses of wine after returning from wine tasting in the Shenandoah Valley. Or, you can sit down by the natural spring and just enjoy the tranquility. We stayed in the Zane room during our second stay. This room has an excellent view with a private entrance. All of the meals were excellent. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast.
