4.8 out of 5Simply Amazing
May 06, 2013
My wife and I have stayed here on several occassions, over the past 2 years, the most recent being last weekend for our 1-year wedding anniversary. I can't say enough positive things about High Meadows..it's always an amazing stay because of the accomodations, food, where the property is located, and most importantly the "personable service"...we are always made to feel like it's home; and of course there's Henry, the peacock. My suggestion is you gotta' go experience the comfort, solitude and history of High Meadows. You won't regret it!
5 out of 5Perfect in every way.

Our third time and as always, our stay at High Meadows was exquisite. Nancy is always so very friendly, helpful, and simply a joy with which to chat. Cynthia never fails to amaze with her delectable breakfasts, and as it was our anniversary this time, we sprung for dinner and Cynthia exceeded our greatest expectations. What a fabulous chef! The grounds are immaculately kept and gorgeous. The gazebo is the perfect place to while away a rainy afternoon reading or to sip some vino in the evenings. The rooms beautiful and the beds extremely comfortable. And if all that isn’t enough, let’s not forget Henry, the very handsome peacock. Every stay at High Meadows is an absolute delight!
4.2 out of 5Great Weekend Stay!!!!
April 19, 2013
My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary and selected High Meadows through a Groupon.com offer. We lucked out as well with wonderful weather the weekend we stayed and thoroughly enjoyed visting local historic sites and taking in a couple of the local wineries. Overall, the stay was relaxing and just what we both needed. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, service was great, and the inn's atmosphere was charming. Looking forward to returning!!!
4.8 out of 5Best B&B I have ever stayed at...
April 17, 2013
My fiancee and I loved staying here. It is the perfect place for those who want to take a break from the break-neck pace of the modern world. The food was great, the location was perfect, the amenities were spot on and the charm was unmatched. We spent our time hopping from vineyard to vineyard tasting wine and eating until we could eat no more, which was easy considering the fact that there were a plethora of vineyards and wineries to choose from within a 10 mile radius of this B&B. Charlottesville is close enough to easily get to and the drive was beautiful to boot, so if you feel like enjoying some night life, you can do that too. All in all, I couldn't ask for a better place to stay and we will return here as soon as we can!

I'm from Fort Myers, FL. I found true paradise at High Meadows. I'll visit again, someday. My heart is still there, somewhere in between the lush vineyard, the family, kitchen and wonderful chef.

4.6 out of 5A wonderful escape from the city
March 03, 2013
My husband and I stayed with Nancy and her daughter at High Meadows for a wonderful long weekend. We were in the Peony room and had a comfortable bed and warm, welcoming room (which was a lovely contrast to the end of February chill outside!). I highly recommend having dinner with them during your stay--breakfast was excellent, dinner was even better, and they were perfectly happy with us bringing our own wine from one of the local vineyards. Nancy was helpful with planning our day trips and the house and property are lovely without being too cute or precious. Its a short drive to Charlottesville and the surrounding wineries. We can't wait to come back in the spring when everything is green and growing!
4.8 out of 5Wonderful unique getaway!
February 13, 2013
I was looking for a quaint getaway retreat for my husband's birthday. I discovered this gem thru groupon & definitely was very surprised! The house is old but exquisitely decorated & charming. Nancy warmly greeted us & was great at making sure our needs & interests were met. This place is conveniently located outside of Charlottesville, so winery's are all around! We had a wonderful time & HIGHLY recommend this B&B. the food, inn, & friendships we found will not be forgotten! Thank you Nancy, Ryan & Cynthia for making my husbands birthday a memorable one! Love, Billie & Bert
