High Meadows Vineyard Inn is listed on the National Historic Register and is a Virginia Landmark. High Meadows is located in Scottsville,a true small-town on the beautiful James River, just 17 miles from downtown Charlottesville. Our 7 room inn is a marriage of an 1832 Federalist home and a 1882 Italianate Victorian, but with all the amenities of the 21st century. Jetted tubs, king size beds, luxurious Anichini linens, our 13 acres of woodlands, beautiful gardens, 1-acre Pinot Noir vineyard and hilltop location add up to a peaceful getaway from the everyday. Fall in Virginia is beautiful - apple orchards, stunning views, wineries nearby - let us pack a picnic lunch for a perfect autumn afternoon! From shopping, sightseeing or simply sipping tea with a good book in a sunny spot on the porch, we give a modern twist to Victorian hospitality.

    The sunroom is the back porch of the 1832 Federalist house...sliding doors open wide to allow the breeze in the summer, and a view of the rear gardens and gazebo. Breakfast out here all year round, if you wish!The front facade of the 1882 Victorian house...joyful colors, in a serene hilltop garden - sit on the proch and enjoy views over the meadow and vineyard.
    The Dogwood suite - the entire attic floor of the 1832 Federalist house! Perfect for honeymooners or a special occasion.The Cottage Room - overlooking the pretty woodlands that lead to the pond trails.
    The Cottage Suite...private deck, kitchenette & sitting area. The Daffodil - beautiful antique bed, and sunny yellow walls - with a bay window overlooking the side gardens.
    High Meadows front hall entry, looking into the Peony room. The upstairs hall in the Victorian house, looks out over the front garden Pinot Noir vineyard and fountain. A sunny spot to sit and read in the late morning and afternoon
    Weddings in the garden by the gazebo are lovely from Spring to FallThe Peony Room - complete with king Anichini bedding, original faux finishes and original shutters in the 1882 Victorian part of High Meadows Vineyard Inn. All this and close to Charlottesville too!
    Upstairs, overlooking the vineyard and front gardens...the Willow is bathed in a soft green glow from morning til evening.
