Experience the 18th century capital of Virginia while enjoying all the modern comforts of the present. Furnished with pieces typical of the period, you’ll find the Williamsburg room has a unique appeal of its own. A mahogany canopy bed, a Queen Anne wing chair and 1790’s blanket chest crafted with hand-made nails add grace to the room. Relax in front of a warm fire on cool nights and enjoy the slower pace of an earlier time. You’ll feel as if you’ve traveled to the sunny south of France when you stay in the Provence Room. Yellow faux-finished walls set the tone finished with toile draperies and a chaise beckoning you to relax. On chilly evenings, press a button on the remote control and enjoy a cozy fire. Close your eyes and listen to one of the French CDs provided in the room and you’ll think you’re really in Provence.
Enjoy the old-world feel of the Tuscan Room with faux-finished walls, a 100-year old armoire and four-poster wood and bronze bed. The only guest room with a bay window, the Tuscan Room is decorated in colors of sage and bronze exuding warmth and romance.Nothing is friendlier or more welcoming than a summer cottage in Maine. Quilts, painted furniture, and sloped walls with a dormer will make you feel as if you’ve traveled “down east” without the drive. The highlight of the room is a traditional New England clothes press (armoire) beautifully finished and custom-made for the room by local craftsmen. Close your eyes and you’ll smell the salt spray and hear the waves crashing on the rocks.
Harmony and balance, the basis of Feng Shui and a precept of Chinese tradition, offers guidelines for living in harmony to assure that there is love, health, and wealth in our lives. The Far East Room was designed using the five elements of Feng Shui to ensure the comfort and harmony of its guests. A few carefully placed Asian antiques in combination with a soft color palette, complemented with a touch of red for energy, create a soothing space in which to rest and revitalize your spirit.
