Dating back to 1820, the Middleburg Country Inn, located in downtown Middleburg, VA, served as an Episcopal rectory for 150 years, and was renovated and opened as an inn in 1990. Each room (with king-size canopy bed and private bath) is furnished in the color, period and style suggested by the home of a favorite son of Virginia.

If you want to impress your wife...

    November 07, 2012

My wife and I recently treated ourselves to a weekend in Middleburg, Virginia. The town and surrounding area are everything we had hoped for with beautiful old homes, numerous quaint shops, and stacked stone walls framing sprawling farms. But it was the discovery of the Middleburg Country Inn that will keep us coming back time and again. When it came time for us to leave, we simply didn’t want to go…so much so that we booked a return trip before departing. The Inn itself is a historic old home that is exceptionally warm and inviting. As with all the rooms we saw, ours was beautifully decorated with an incredibly comfortable four poster bed and all the modern conveniences you could wish for. All of the common rooms were very comfortable and we especially enjoyed the sun filled dinning room drinking coffee and having the most delicious breakfast we’ve had in years. The owners, JoAnn and Kevin, are the perfect hosts; very engaging while not being the least bit intrusive. In fact, some of our favorite memories of the weekend were discovering how our paths had intertwined. JoAnn made wonderful recommendations and dinner reservations while Kevin created a personalized map with directions that took us through the heart of this stunningly beautiful area. For you guys reading this, take it from me: this is the perfect place to impress your wife. I didn’t even bring my golf clubs (but I might next time. Kevin told me about some great courses).

    Simply Wonderful!!

    April 17, 2012

I have been coming to Middleburg for many many years and have finally found a place to stay that is a better home away from home. My room was ready when I got there and being exhausted from my trip, I was in heaven after falling into one of the biggest and most comfortable beds I have ever seen. Jo Ann and Kevin anticipate your every need but do not hover over you. Breakfast is the best!!! The Middleburg Country Inn is the best of both worlds - the quaintness of Old Middleburg with modern conveniences. 5 Stars!

perfect place for small business meeting

    January 27, 2012

Spent a night at Middleburg Country Inn for a small business meeting (about 12 people) hosted at the inn. What a fantastic place to stay and host our meeting. JoAnn provided a great dinner the first night and breakfast the next morning at the inn and also coordinated catered lunchs from one of the local restaurants. She went the extra mile to help make this a great meeting and was very attentive to our needs. The inn and rooms are wonderful down to every last detail. I had a room on the third floor with king bed, private bath, sitting area in front of fireplace, and then another sitting area with kitchenette. Anything you could possibly need is provided. The common areas on the first floor and welcoming and comfortable and gave us plenty of space for our meeting. Everything in the home is tastefully done - so open and inviting. We didn't get to spend any free time in Middleburg because of the meeting, but I would love to go back. The town looked very charming with shops, restaurants, boutiques, and galleries. Middleburg Country Inn is in the heart of everything and walkable to everything the town offers.

Don't Miss this Bed and Breakfast

    September 18, 2010

You will be very pleased with your selection of this beautiful bed and breakfast! The owners have been very gracious and warm on every occasion. The rooms are lovely and the breakfast great. A stroll through the lovely little town, just before sunset, finish the evening with a local meal, and nestle in for a cozy stay. We love The Middleburg Inn and plan for many, many more visits!

    Comfortable and Cozy

    June 25, 2009

The Middleburg Country Inn is central to Middleburg. Onsite parking allows for a quick walk to a number of great restaurants and quaint shops. We showed up early and were encouraged to leave our car and walk around until our room was ready (it was even ready an hour before our check-in time). The owners were exceedingly friendly and hospitable, giving us ideas for dinner, activites, and offering us a coupon for a complimentary tasting at Naked Mountain winery just a few miles away. Truly made a great visit because of the owners and the quaint town of Middleburg.

    Valentine's Day Getaway

    February 15, 2009

My husband and I live in Reston and wanted a nearby getaway for Valentine's Day. Middleburg seemed like a good choice for a place to spend a quiet weekend while still being close to the wineries in the area. Jo Ann, the innkeeper, was extremely helpful right from the beginning when we made our reservations. She made a recommendation for a nearby restaurant (Back Street Cafe) for Valentine's Day dinner and offered to make reservations on our behalf. She was very responsive to my questions both via phone and e-mail. When my husband and I arrived, we were pleased to see that there was plenty of space for guest parking behind the inn, and that is was conveniently located right on the main street. When you enter the inn, there are chocolate chip cookies waiting for you. JoAnn showed us around the inn including the parlors (with VHS library- nice movie selection), breakfast room, kitchen, and a back room with a freezer (complimentary ice cream is always good), and then showed us to our room, the Gunston Hall on the second floor. It is a nice sized room, tastefully decorated. The bathroom includes a nice Jacuzzi tub as well. After enjoying some drinks at the nearby French Hound, we retired to our room. The next morning we awoke to the smell of bacon cooking. We enjoyed our breakfast, especially the waffles and the Eggs Benedict. Jo Ann's homemade lemon cake is also delicious. Jo Ann and her husband Kevin are great about giving recommendations on what to do in the area. After a visit to Leesburg and then a local winery that day, we walked around Middleburg to explore its shops and cafes, and then went to dinner at the Back Street Cafe where the food was delicious. We finished the evening with a stop at the French Hound for drinks, then back to the inn for a movie, ice cream, and the Jacuzzi of course! I would highly recommend the Middleburg Country Inn and really look forward to coming back again!
