Review Ivy Creek Farm B&B, Lynchburg, VA

Photo Album

Ivy Creek is decorated in serene celadon and ivory, a queen-size canopy bed, boudoir chairs and Belgian wool carpet.

The room with its soft colors and light, airy décor is calming and relaxing.

The private bathroom is spacious with tub, stall shower and vanity dressing table. The front parlor and the library, each with a fireplace, are comfortable places for you to lounge and listen to music, connect wirelessly to the Internet, read or socialize. They are also large enough for small family gatherings.
Lap lane is 50 feet long, 4 feet deep, sloping to 10 feet deep in large portion of pool. Pool is heated to 82 degrees F. and open year round for our registered guests. The adjacent Jacuzzi has four jets and heats to 102 degrees F. Water aerobic exercise equipment is available. Each day we prepare an extravagant multi-course breakfast for you. Sleep in and enjoy breakfast served at the civilized hour of 9 am. Breakfast is served in our dining room or on our porch when weather permits. Coffee or tea is available for early risers.
Locust Thicket, with natural pine wainscoting, is decorated with informal antiques, a loveseat, desk, and a pine poster bed with stylized finials.

The decorator wall color and bed fabric echo the Oriental carpet pattern and colors.

It is warm, comfortable and inviting. The tiled bathroom has a combination tub and shower. The adjoining luxury bathroom in our Poplar Forest Room offers a large soaking tub, walk in shower, and double sinks. The crystal chandelier and faux-stone walls with murals are truly opulent.
Poplar Forest, with its own library, is a suite situated in the back wing of the house.

The Tudor style, step-down bedroom provides a King-size bed, large sitting area with a day bed and loveseat in front of a gas log fireplace with remote control.Afternoon wine and refreshments are included in the price of the room and are served from about 4pm to 6pm. Some sweet, some savory, the daily offering might include local goat cheese with fresh herbs, or artichoke spread and assorted olives, served with croustades or crackers, fresh fruit, or fresh baked cookies, cakes or scones,. Seasonally, mint and lemon infused ice tea, or hot mulled cider, or hot chocolate is available.
The old barn and the smoke house stand as reminders of the farm's use early in the 20th century as a one-hundred-twenty acre dairy farm known as "Stokes Ivy Creek Farm."
