We stayed at the Federal Crest Inn and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Ann and Phil ripley are warm and welcoming into their absolutely lovely home. The first level of this stately home has an immediate "wow" factor when you see the central grand staircase with the large landing. Lovely dark wood finishes with glowing fireplaces throughout the entire home. It was a damp, chilly weekend and I sincerely appreciated the warmth of the fires upon entering! We stayed in the Dogwood room and found it romantic and enchanting. Sheets, bedding , and mattress were extremely comfortable as well. Breakfast was delicious and presented so thoughtfully. Thank you Ann and Phil for making your home our home! Courtney and Glenn

5 stars for phil and ann for the tremendous accommodations to each guests needs. If you want to relax, take in the culture and history of lynchburg, or need to get some work done while on a business trip Federal Crest Inn has it all and more. I would make the drive from Minnesota anytime if Federal Crest is the destination. Southern hospitality is alive and flourishing in this place.

The food was excellent, the rooms comfortable and clean, the hosts were most helpful and kind - it really couldn't have been a nicer stay! We now have 2 friends in Lynchburg, Va. and are looking forward to staying in this lovely inn again. Thank you, Ann and Phil.

We loved staying at this Georgian Mansion. It is like stepping back to yesteryear down to the old fashioned keys to open the doors. Ann had everything decorated beautifully for fall along with her hand-painted glassware on the table. Chocolate chip cookies waited for us upon our return every night. Breakfast was ready when we were with a delightful thought for the day on our morning muffin. We enjoyed eggs Benedict, Spanish souffle, french toast, warm oatmeal drizzled with honey and topped with fresh fruit. Our room was a cozy place to relax and rest. We felt very welcome at the Federal Crest Inn.

I travel frequently to Lynchburg for work. I choose the Federal Crest as my home away from home because of just that... it feels like home. The hosts are very accommodating. It just nice to have someplace where I can put my feet up, relax and settle in for a nice read by the fire. You can't beat the value!

My husband and I took a trip last month from Washington DC to Lynchburg, VA to visit family and get a little Virginia history in. We have stayed at other bed and breakfasts, but this exceeded expectations. Ann & Phil are amazing host. The property was beautiful, charming and historic. A great place to stay for die hard historians. Whatever you may need on your trip was available for use. We even borrowed a picnic basket/cooler one afternoon. Breakfasts were delicious as well.

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at this lovely Inn. It was clear to me and my wife that the Innkeepers take personal pride in the "total experience" for their guests. Our room (the Magnolia) was very comfortable and romantic! We loved all the amenities and the attention to detail. This historic inn provided us with a very special memory and comfortable overnight stay. We can't wait to return!
