The cottage was lovely, everything was very clean. Everything you could possibly need was anticipated. Wonderful cookies and cake in the afternoons left in our cottage. Bowls of candy scattered around and even a refrigerator complete with waters and soda. Microwave popcorn and crackers also if you were hungry while watching one of Wiley and Hank's many, many DVDs available in the main house.

This was a wonderful overnight getaway in the beautiful Shenendoah Valley. The hosts provided a warm welcome. They made you feel as if you were a guest in their own home. The property and room were pristine. We will stay again.

We first visited Piney Hill in October 2012. It was a wedding gift so we used it as a mini honeymoon a month after our wedding. We really enjoyed the views and all that there is to do at the bed & breakfast and surrounding areas. Wiley and Hank are the best hosts and their hospitality is like none other. They make you feel welcome and at home, never awkward or pushy. The couples massages were amazing and it's so nice to look out at the mountain views while relaxing in the jacuzzi. The Rosebud Cottage was great and we got to tour the Hurley Byrd Cottage while we were there because they had just finished construction. When we left there in October, we were already planning our next visit. My husband decided he wanted to spend his birthday weekend at Piney Hill and we knew we wanted to try out the Hurley Byrd. We stayed in the Hurley Byrd in May 2013. My husband thought it was awesome that they left him a birthday card in the cottage, it was a nice personal touch. There is so much to do in a weekend in the Luray/Shenandoah area. All of the recommendations given by Wiley and Hank were great. They let us know when there were festivals and events going on around town and gave us the scoop on the restaurants in the area. The breakfast was phenomenal - especially the apple crisp oatmeal (sorry, Hank, I can't remember the real name). We had pumpkin french toast in the fall and then peach french toast in the spring. I can't decide which one I liked better, and I usually don't like peaches. We had homemade dessert in our room every day, it was a nice treat. The gift shop is very cute, we bought a few souvenirs to take home. Being only a 2 hour drive from home is perfect because it's not too far but just far enough to get away for a long weekend. We can't wait to go back in the fall when the leaves are changing colors. I would definitely recommend Piney Hill to anyone who wants a nice relaxing weekend with awesome hospitality and great views.

Deposit Amount Required: A deposit equal to a 1 night stay may be applied when reservation is made.

Cancellations: A $25.00 service charge per room will be applied to all cancellations. Due to limited availability which requires us to turn guests away once a room is blocked out, cancellations received less than 7 days from arrival will be charged the entire reservation price unless we can rebook. Holidays and Fall season cancellations received less than 14 days from arrival will be charged the entire reservation price unless we can rebook. We will not attempt to rebook your room should you cancel your reservation on the day of your arrival. No Shows, that is not notifying us at all, will be charged the entire reservation price. If a reservation is cut short you will be charged 50% per day for each remaining day of your reservation, excluding Holidays and Fall Season where you will be charged the entire amount of your reserved stay. All cancellations must be received by phone.

Views were breathtaking, house was quaint, beds were comfortable, food was delicious, and the two owners are incredibly sweet. All of the BnBs in the area are a bit pricey for my liking, but out of the options, I would definitely recommend staying at Piney HIll.

Piney Hill is a wonderful place to stay. I stayed for nine days and was just sorry it wasn't for longer. It is a lovely house, beautifully furnished in a sublime location. The breakfasts are nothing less than a delight - creative and exquisitely prepared. However the main factor that makes Piney Hill such a delight are the hosts, Wiley and Hank. They spare nothing to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and you come away (reluctantly) believing you have been staying with friends. Superb.
