Stoneridge Bed & Breakfast

  • Inn Details

Once the center of a 400-acre Shenandoah Valley farm, Stoneridge offers a glimpse of antebellum life just minutes from historic Lexington. The original house was built in 1829 with bricks made on the property. Stonerige is surrounded by 32 secluded acres of Virginia countryside - fields, streams and woodlands; and abundant wildflowers, butterflies, and wildlife - deer, turkeys, and songbirds. Sit on the spaciaous front porch and sip a cool drink as you enjoy the sunset over the mountains. Step through the original Adams style double doors and find restored rooms with high ceilings, intricate moldings, elaborate mantels and heart-of-pine floors. Each of the five guest rooms has a queen bed and a private bath, three have jetted whirlpool baths, and four have gas-log fireplaces.

My wife and I travel frequently and stay at many bed and breakfast inns. Stoneridge is near the top of our list of favorites. Beautiful grounds, excellent service, an 1829 Inn, and a great breakfast made this a real treat for us. Only 5 miles or so to downtown Lexington set among the rolling hills truly made this a relaxing and fun experience. It was so nice that we extended our stay an extra night! Jim and Evelyn do a super job and we will be looking forward to staying at Stoneridge during our next Lexington retreat. Bill & Marian Carson.

This B&B was less expensive, so we had a bit lower expectations, but were thoroughly blown away. The place was a little hard to find, but the search was definitely worth it. The breakfasts were some of the best that we have eaten anywhere. The host and hostess were very welcoming and the rooms were delightful.

Highly recommend this lovely BnB - Couldn't be better!

We and another couple stayed at the Stoneridge. What a pleasant surprise! The rooms were lovely; the host/hostess/owners were sweet and gave us a wonderful recommendation for a local restaurant. Beds were very comfortable and baths were updated nicely but kept with the traditional decor. I stayed up late and found the game room with the TV to be in an area where I didn't disturb any of the others. The breakfast was a real treat - personally prepared by the son/chef/co-owner - WOW! Delicious. One of our party is on a gluten-free diet and had a special dish prepared for her. Outstanding service. It was fun learning the history of the property and seeing the photos of how it has changed. We hated to leave but had a planned itinerary. We will be back in a warmer season to enjoy the outdoors, watch the sunsets, and reconnect with our the owners. I will highly recommend the Stoneride to all our friends traveling in the Lexington area.

    Almost as good as home.

A beautifu property, inviting hosts, the most charming rooms, a wonderful den to pass the evening before bed, plus a great breakfast. Who could ask for more. But there is more. There were 2 great dogs that were kept away from the guests, but I got to play with them, and I requested a small, but very early breakfast and got exactly what I wanted. Upon my departure, the owner of the home serenaded me on her grand piano. I've been all over the world, and this place is just terrific. The best.

    Great weekend

We arrived late and were met at the door by the owners. They gave us a tour of the house and then showed us to our room. It was very clean and as promised. I ordered a bottle of wine for when we got there and it was in the room but we didn't drink it. I took it down the next morning and they put it in the wine cooler until that night. I can't wait to go back in the future.
