Come and experience Frog Hollow Bed and Breakfast for yourselves and see why we have been rated 1 of the top 3 B and B's in Lexington. From the moment you enter this fully renovated 1800's Folk Victorian Home, you will feel as if you are visiting friends. Our goal is to make sure you are happy during your stay with us and we are here to help you in anyway that we can. Relax on either of our rocking chair porches, soak in our outdoor Thermo Spa or Enjoy fresh desserts, fine chocolates and refreshments every evening in the atrium next to our soothing water fountain. You can sit in the parlor and enjoy a movie on our flat screen TV before ending your day. "snacks included". Our guest rooms are large, beautifully decorated, furnished with queen beds, each with private bath. From the refreshing airiness of the Cottage Room colored with white, yellows and blues, to the dramatic hues and decorative flourishes in our Garden Room, to the more formally styled and spacious 2 room Tolley Suite in elegant warm and neutral tones. We now have Turtle Creek Cottage just next door with fireplaces and patios situated above the trees with hilltop views. Frog Hollow is by itself on a charming country road and less than 2 miles to VMI, Washington and Lee, downtown Lexington, Virginia Horse Center, and convenient to all attractions and events in the Shenandoah Valley. Located on Greenhouse Road, a part of the original Turnpike into Lexington, it is the scene of the Civil War action called The Assault On Lexington, at the foot of what is known as Hunter Hill, where cannons were placed and fired into Virginia Military Institute June 11,1864.

    Our Honeymoon

    June 30, 2012

We decided to spend a week in lovely Lexington for our honeymoon. Dave and John at Frog Hollow were phenomenal. We were greeted with not only gracious friendliness by the staff but they had gone so far to leave champagne and chocolates for us. Each room was exquisitely decorated and the complimentary breakfasts were sublime. If you are looking for a peaceful, elegant place to stay, Frog Hollow is the ideal setting.

    Perfect Anniversary Spot

    January 14, 2012

My husband and I were going to be in Roanoke with family for Christmas and were looking for a comfortable place to spend our anniversary a couple days later. We read reviews on other sites and it seemed like Frog Hollow might be good choice. It more than exceeded our expectations. The hosts were wonderful: friendly, engaging, helpful but also careful to let us have our space to enjoy our visit. The food was amazing. We have stayed at a number of B&B's and this was probably the best breakfast we've had. They picked our restaurants for our dinners; both choices were amazing. I would stay here again and again. If you are looking for a romantic room, defunitely check out the Tolley Suite. The pictures do not nearly capture its elegance and SOuthern charm. Overall this is just an outstanding B&B.

Home "Suite" Home - Our Favorite Place!

    December 19, 2011

My girl and I have stayed twice at Frog Hollow this year, the first in September when we went to celebrate her birthday and to visit her son who's a RAT at VMI. During that first visit, we became instant friends with the proprietors, John and David. They made us feel welcome and at ease from the moment we walked through the front door! No matter the setting, no matter the comfort, no matter the food, a stay at a bed and breakfast is just a couple days in a room if you don't have wonderful hosts who really care about their guests. John and David are both very cheerful, witty, and outgoing guys that make sure every need...whether a reservation in town for dinner or finding you a room when their place is booked...is fully taken care of. As for Frog Hollow, the house is practical, beautiful and romantic. The rooms are comfortable and roomy, but particularly the Tolley Suite (named after the original owners of the home) which is two rooms and a private bath. You will not leave this bed and breakfast hungry, of that I can assure! John and David take turns making breakfast and they're constantly outdoing one another! The portions are huge with clever takes on stuffed french toast and other classic breakfast cuisine. As for value, I cannot express the level of friendship, commitment to guests, quality of rest and relaxation, and the exquisite dining experience you will have at Frog Hollow....now get this....at prices more attractive than at any of the local chain hotels/motels. I honestly could not recommend a stay at Frog Hollow any more highly!

    One of our best experience!

    November 24, 2011

This was our first time staying at Frog Hollow and the best way to describe it is "WoW". From the moment we entered this beautiful home we felt so welcomed and the breakfast were out of this world. We can go on and on about this place but you just need to experience it for yourselves. Thank you so much John and David. We will be back!
