Outstanding service! Enjoyable Stay! Highly Recommend!

    May 10, 2013

I wanted to do something special for my wife for her birthday. As our son is 6 months, we have not had a trip to ourselves. I researched some bed and breakfast and came across Brierley Hill B&B. Upon reading reviews on trip advisor, I was assured that this would be a great location. In fact, it was perfect! I contacted Dave because I wanted to do a special dinner for my wife that Sunday night. Dave was very responsive and helpful in setting it up. The dinner was for an additional fee, but it was worth it. Dave and his wife Karen prepared a delicious 3 course meal that was prepared better than any 4 or 5 star restaurant . I had rented the Good Friends suite, which has its own private patio, so we had a private dinner set there. The view was just remarkable for our dinner. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and ideal for anyone who wanted a private patio to be included to step outside. There was a separate living area to the Good Friend's suite, which was nice because after dinner my wife and I went to the other room with the fireplace to just sit, talk, and enjoy some quiet reading. Dave and Karen really do go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay. Although they just recently purchased this property (about 2 or so months), they run the place as if they have had it for years. All in all they are great people whose mission it is that you enjoy your stay. I wish them much success, and my wife and I will be looking forward to visiting for a much longer stay. Thanks Dave and Karen! --Ramin and Asia Mohammad

    Peaceful getaway

    April 29, 2013

My husband and I stayed at this bed and breakfast for one weekend recently. We needed a little getaway from city life, and we found it here. When we were first driving to the B&B, we had a little difficulty finding it, because our GPS had us stop driving two blocks away, but we finally just kept going until we found the building. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly owners and shown to our room. At first I thought that the room was little, but then were were shown the other half! In addition to the bedroom, we had a living room. The views from our rooms were very beautiful--a span of many rolling hills. We soaked in the views from our own private patios as well as from the large, common-area lawn. The owners have two large dogs, and although I am a cat person rather than dog person, I ended up enjoying having the dogs around a little bit. The owners were sociable without being intrusive. They were within reach if we needed assistance with our room or advice on activities in the area. I had to knock one star off the Dining category (from "Outstanding" to a still very high "Exceeded my expectations") because my husband thought that the breakfast was good rather than great. Breakfast included some dishes that we had never previously tasted, and I, in contrast to my husband, enjoyed them all. Overall, I would highly recommend that other people visit this bed and breakfast for an experience that is relaxing and provides excellent customer service.

We loved this quiet picturesque area; what a breathtaking view. The trees were flowering and the birds were chirping. Breakfasts were outstanding. Dave and Karen were such a delight and loved to show off their new venture. We shared their first hummingbird . . . a real treat! Also close to Lexington, a place filled with history!

    Wonderful place to stay

    September 29, 2011

I would strongly recommend staying at Brierley Hill B&B. We stayed in the Peace Room and the view was amazing. You saw the beautiful mtns. and at dusk the deer were grazing right there in front of you as you drove down the long winding driveway as you went to dinner. My husband was not happy with the showerhead in the shower and mentioned it to Ken. By that evening the showerhead was changed to a wonderful pulsating one. You can't ask for better service than that. We were also introduced to soup at breakfast. At first I was a little leary. But after tasting the wonderful soup, which was more like a smoothie, it was a nice change from the same old routine breakfast fruit. If we are down in the Lexington area again, we will definitely stay here again. Thank you Ken, Joyce & Diana for a wonderful 2 days.
