Joshua Wilton House

  • Inn Details

Located in an elegantly restored Queen Anne Victorian, the Joshua Wilton House offers guests an oasis of quiet charm and gracious living in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. The Inn features five non-smoking bedrooms that have been decorated and furnished with beautiful antiques and reproductions. Overnight guests are treated to a sumptuous breakfast that may include homemade pastries, fresh fruits and gourmet coffee. All rooms have one queen size feather top bed, private baths, individually controlled thermostats, clock radios and hair dryers. Luxurious terrycloth robes are provided for your use during your stay. All rooms also have access to a small reading area. We now have small Tv's in room 1, 4, and 5. The Restaurant offers a unique and exquisite á la carte menu that changes with the seasons, along with an award-winning wine list. Featured are the food products of many small local farms who supply our kitchen with high quality ingredients that simply cannot be found elsewhere. Executive Chef Mark Newsome's philosophy of cooking is to present these wonderful products in a fashion that allows their natural goodness to shine through. During the warmer months, seating is available on the outdoor brick patio. Reservations are strongly encouraged, especially on weekends. Smoking is permitted outside only. The restaurant is open from 5:00 PM, Tuesday through Saturday.

I was going to turn my big country farmhouse into a B&B, but when I saw how luxurious JW was, and yet still the price for a room was low, I just gave up, especially when I saw how empty it was during the week. If THEY can't keep their rooms filled unless JMU has a special event, I certainly couldn't.

Beautiful B&B in lovely, historic town. Loved the architecture, Aveda products and other details. Excellent service and location. Breakfast was amazing- wish we'd eaten dinner there too! We got first-class treatment for a very reasonable price.
