We were not sure what to make of the town of Goshen, but will admit to being pleasantly surprised at the peace and tranquility that surrounded us at the Hummingbird inn. What a delight from the first hello from both Patty and Dan. We stayed in the Franklin room, which was quaint, yet comfortable and spacious. It was so relaxing. We also enjoyed our jaunts to Lexington. The Hempstead Hotel and just driving through the Goshen pass. We have already made reservations for the end of May and we are bringing friends with us.

This was my girlfriend and I's second stay here and we're already planning a third trip. We love staying here and Patty and Dan are the best hosts!

We spent three nights at this wonderful Inn this past week. Our hosts - Patty & Dan could not have been any more accommodating. The Inn is beautiful and comfortable with much history to go with it. Near Lexington, Staunton and state parks so no shortage of things to do and see. Would visit again!!

My wife and I wanted to celebrate our 35th Anniversary and wanted to go somewhere different and a place where we could "get away from it. Well, we found it in a little town called Goshen, Va at The Hummingbird Inn. From the moment we arrived, Patty met us and you would have thought we were family. She was so gracious and kind and took us on a tour of the house as though we were the only ones staying there, even though four more parties arrived and were treated equally as well. Part of the house was built in the 1700s and the other section in the 1800s. We have been to other Bed and Breakfast homes but this is the first one where we were actually served a real breakfast. Both Patty and Dan worked the entire time to make sure everyone was comfortable and had what they needed instead of just saying here's the key and disappear. We cannot wait until our next big occasion because we will definitely be back. I miss them and the place already.

My wife and I traveled about 4 1/2 hours to stay at the Inn and it was so worth it. Yes the trains can be loud...yes I said so now lets get that out of the way for those who always want to mention the train. That said everything else about the inn is fabulous...the room we stayed in (The Franklin) was just great...so nicely appointed and spacious. There isn't much other than the inn in Goshen itself so you have to get out and visit the surrounding area but it is such a beautiful area that you will want to get out and see it and the Patty and Dan will tell you all there is to see. We went to Lexington and took the historic carriage ride...just great and then went and spent the rest of the day at natural bridge...again great! However, the greatest part of the trip was staying at the inn and meeting Patty and Dan as they are two of the sweetest and most gracious people you ever want to meet. As far as I saw they treated everyone there like we were all the most important people on the planet....in two words they are a class act! If I had to do it all over again I would (and will) because it was so worth it! Thomas
