The Virginia Cliffe Inn is a Bed & Breakfast as well as event venue located approximately 15 minutes north of Richmond, VA. The Inn is nestled among the trees in the settlement of Glen Allen on six acre grounds which front historic Mountain Road; the path Thomas Jefferson traveled on trips from Charlottesville, to Richmond, and Williamsburg. All of our guest rooms include a private bath, flat screen televisions with basic cable, individual temperature control, and wifi. Each room is individually decorated with Georgian style furnishings and decor which will remind you of times gone by. In the winter you can sip spiced tea in front of the fireplace in the wood-paneled den. In the summer you can sit in the back yard overlooking the flower gardens with a fountain, a waterfall, and a pond.

I traveled through Richmond on my way from Philadelphia, PA to Atlanta, GA. I can't say enough about the Virginia Cliffe Inn. Margaret and Janice were fantastic hostesses - responsive (during the booking phase), friendly, courteous, and accommodating. The room was clean and beautiful - as advertised. Breakfast was an absolute delight. I would definitely stay at the Virginia Cliffe Inn again! Highly recommended.

Excellent Bed and Breakfast on every account. Great hospitality and conversation by Mrs.Clifton and she also serves a fantastic breakfast. It was satisfying and enjoyable and similar to staying in a southern plantation....

The stay was wonderful! We had the chance to see a spring wedding on the gorgeous grounds of the property, both there and in the rooms the Clifftons have truly thought of everything.

Margaret and James(deceased) opened their Georgian-style home as a Bed and Breakfast in 1998. James, a general contractor built the home after dismantling the original 1896 farmhouse on the property, building their current home using as much recycled material from the original house. Margaret takes pride in her old fashion style home cooking. In addition, Virginia Cliffe hosts wedding receptions and other special events, mainly from April-November
