Kenmore Inn

Awesome B&B. The only part they could develop more is on the dining service. We had to get our own spoons to stir coffee, locate water pitchers to fill water glasses, and there seemed to be no standard work for setting and clearing tables as it was inconsistent morning to morning.

We are from San Francisco. 2011 marks our fifth trip to the mid-Atlantic and southern states, where we visit family. However, this was our first visit to Fredericksburg. The staff at The Kenmore Inn was uniformly helpful and courteous, as well as extremely knowledgeable about the area. The Inn itself was pleasingly restored. The bonus of an excellent and varied breakfast as well as the possibility of dining either at the Inn (excellent) or within easy walking distance (also excellent), was a bonus. Our experience was uniformly pleasant. We would certainly recommend this Inn to friends

I had a pleasant stay at the Kenmore Inn! The room was a little smaller than anticipated, but it was clean, comfortable, and cozy. The people were very friendly and helpful at the house! I was a little disappointed that the restaurant was more like a hangout for people to drink and smoke, was expecting it to be a little more romantic - but evidently on Thursday is the night for their band to play. If we were in the mood to see a nice band I'm sure we would have enjoyed it. However, we were able to walk into town where there was a handful of other restaurants to choose from. Breakfast was small but tasty, I really enjoyed the blueberry scones.

Rooms were clean and decent size. Nice space for lounging and walking grounds. Great location in downtown area. Breakfast was good, but small and options for food did not change from morning to morning.

The Inn is lovely and the people were very nice. The room was small but beautiful and comfy. The halls were warm but the room had a window air conditioner so you could control it. But the best thing was the food!! It was the best food we had in Fredricksberg and the service was great. They have a restaurant so we ate dinner and breakfast there. The breakfast was the best of any of the B and B's I've ever stayed in!! Even if you don't stay there eat dinner there.

Attractive old inn near the village and several very interesting historical sites. We walked to excellent restaurants and quaint shops. Our room was comfortable and the staff was friendly.

My wife and I went there last week and had a great time. The rooms were clean, the food was great! I highly recommend this B & B. Cool location, really cool house. The staff was very nice. We will definitely be back Thank you, Mike & Rachel

Kenmore Inn is a beauiful house with high ceilings and nicey decorated rooms. The staff person gave us a tour and demonstrated how to adjust the heat in our room using the radiator valve. We were staying at Christmas time and the house interior seemed nicely decorated. As the evening unfolded we found the staff left at 6pm and none of the decorations were lit. The only public room had so few lights one could not begin to sit and read. Returning after a nice dinner in town we found the room was HOT and the control valve knob not be not even attached and clearly had been that way for a long time. (I should have, but did not, raise hell...as that was where we thought we were given the temperature). At check out it was acknowledged that the heat had been "erratic". The breakfast set up had a few remnants of fruit in bowls on a side table along with cold cereal. The breakfast one could order was very good but lacked any presentation that would have compared with the other B&Bs on our trip. Last note is that there were no fire exit instructions on the door in our room.

Overall we enjoyed our stay and might consider staying there again; however, our first impressions were less than favorable. I realize it is an older property, but the front entry hall was definitely not welcoming. There was no main desk that we could see and you had to search around to find the office. When we did get to our room it did not appear as it showed on line and was drab and shabby in person. In spite of that, the bathroom was very clean and I appreciated the complimentary bottled water and sherry! There was a very nice little pub downstairs that we used for an evening drink, and the breakfast the next morning was good, with some of the best french toast I have ever eaten! The staff members that we dealt with were friendly but overall, while the experience was satisfactory, it was definitely not worth the price that we paid.

Our weekend getaway was enhanced by the great service and comfortable surroundings of the Kenmore.

The Kenmore is really quite nice - it is only a street away from Caroline Street, which is where there are lots of shopping and dining options. We walked from the Kenmore to Caroline and back later in the evening...it was lovely. Our room was very comfortable and had a refurbished bath with a jacuzzi tub. Coffee/tea and cookies were in the lobby area and breakfast was delicious (you had several options from the menu). There is only street parking, which makes it a bit difficult if you have to park across the street and drag your bags across traffic, but we were able to move our car to the front of the Inn the next morning. Everyone was very helpful in making our stay comfortable and pleasant.

Nice little B&B close to the main shopping area. Very clean and very well maintained. We didn't check out the on-site restaurant but heard from others it's very good.

My two brothers and their wives met up with my wife and I at the Inn for 6 days to tour historical sites in and near Fredericksburg. It was a great time! All of the employees we met and dealt with during our stay were friendly and helpful. Although this was the first B&B we've been to that included a restaurant & pub on premises, it turned out to be a big plus after walking and touring the area all day.

Loved the furniture and updated bathroom. Very close to the wonderful shopping district.

Beautiful old house within walking distance of historic Fredericksburg, yet quiet enough for a good night's sleep on a very comfortable bed. The food was excellent and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We highly recommend this B&B.

We had the unique perspective of comparing our room at Kenmore with another local B&B because our friends were staying there. I was so glad we were at Kemore! Comfortable and beautiful. We loved the history and the details.

The Kenmore Inn was the perfect getaway for a romantic evening. We ate dinner in Fredericksburg, then arrived at the Inn early in the evening. We enjoyed a cup of coffee, read the paper in the living room, sat on the porch for a while and enjoyed the quiet night (warm for November). After a while we returned to our room where, at our request, a fire was burning in the fireplace. We enjoyed the cream sherry, the whirlpool tub, and reading by the fire. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The only downside was a loud noise (a generator?) from 6:00 - 6:13 a.m. We are not sure the noise was from the Kenmore, but it was very loud and nearby. (We looked out the window, but couldn't identify the source.) But overall the evening was just what we wanted. Breakfast was good also.

My husband and I had our wedding reception here last month and we were thrilled with EVERYTHING. Marion and Emily were a great event planning team. The food was amazing, the house was great, and it turned out we spent less than expected. The pub downstairs was great and the garden room was perfect for dancing. The room we stayed in for our wedding night was beautiful, and the bathroom was great. I felt like I was staying at the home of a relative, it was just so comfortable and cosy. All our close relatives got to stay at the inn too for the night of the wedding. It was nice to have breakfast with them all in the morning, breakfast was delicious! We can't wait to come back for an anniversary trip.

Just what I needed after a working way too much overtime this summer. The bed was very comfortable. The cream sherry was magnificent. The breakfast omelette, fresh fruit, coffee, orange juice was great.

This was a beautiful setting for our wedding reception! The food was delicious and the service exceptional. Many of our out of town guests stayed at the B&B and were able to join us in the morning for breakfast.

The grounds, the rooms, the bar 7 patio...truly beautiful. The Kenmore Inn captured the authenticity of all things Southern, comfortable & Historic.

Our first stay in Fredericksburg, delightful B&B! The home is beautiful, rich interior details. Outside gardens needs some tlc, exterior rear of house looked like owners were in the midst of repairs or replacement of siding, etc. If this bothers you, don't go around the back! Our room was beautifully decorated (#209), the sherry was a nice touch. One recommendation would be to mount the TV on the wall as it was difficult to see while laying in bed. The bathroom (tight but charming) needs a little updating, appeared to be a "problem" on the ceiling but what do you expect from a home this old. The fact that a restaurant is located in the lower level of the house is a plus -- our meal there was absolutely delicious. Also convenient was a small bar. Staff was helpful and friendly. We will definitely be returning to Fredericksburg and the Kenmore will be our choice of stay!

Six of us (middle aged women) met here for our own "mini" high school reunion. The inn was beautiful. I stayed in the Royal Kenmore room. It looked just like the picture on the inn's website. It was beautifully furnished, the bed was comfortable, and the inn was very quiet. The service from the staff was excellent. We were able to stay up late in the front parlor, without disturbing the other guests. My only negative comment is that the restaurant did not look appealing. We ended up not eating there because of this impression, so the food may actually be fabulous. However, I would definitely recommend this inn. It's location was great. We parked once, and walked everywhere we needed to go.

Room was nice, bathroom was below std. Wine and cheese platter tasted like fish breakfast was burnt and poorly organized staff was not very helpful water in rooms was warm - no ice available

Superb service from top to bottom. Employees conducted themselves in a professional manner at all times. Accomodations were outstanding! Room, food and ambience all exceeded expectations.

Due to the reason for our visit we had bery little time to enjoy more than a good nights sleep. Reception was slow and casual, tho well meaning. Showers didn't work and no instructions, porr reading lights, but it still ws pleasant and we shall return!

Have lived in eastern VA for 20 yrs and never been to Old Town Fredericksburg. We now know what we have been missing! The Kenmore Inn is in a perfect location in Old Town - within walking distance of all shopping, restaurants, the river, but is on the corner of a less travelled street and quiet side street. We received a tour upon arrival. Saw many of the rooms, all beautifully decorated. It is obvious that the innkeepers have worked hard to maintain the old ambiance, charm and historical aspects of the inn while assuring the rooms have the modern comforts we have come to expect. We had a scrumptous dinner in the restaurant that evening and the bar and restaurant were bustling the following evening. Breakfast was served promptly in the mornings but was easy to linger and relax. We can not wait to go back!

Fredricksburg is a perfect stop-over from Richmond to Skyline Drive and Kenmore inn is the perfect place to stay. it's in a safe area-walking distance to "main street".staff was attentive to our every need. comfortable beds/rooms. everything was very clean.Quality bath amenities. nice interior decorating. if your looking silly lacy stuff-this isn't the place. having a restaurant/bar on premise was a welcome relief as us pured rain the night we stayed. a good selection of wine available. we very much enjoyed the Kenmore.

Our stay at the Kenmore Inn was exceptional. We enjoyed a wine tasting, a beautiful room and thoroughly modern bathroom (including jetted tub!). The inn and dining staff were extremely professional and very personable. Our every need was met! This is indeed a top-notch place to stay and we look forward to our next visit.

We stayed at the inn for one night and it was such an experience. We loved our room the minute we walked in, with all the antique furniture and old pictures and the fireplace! We came in a time when there weren't many people in the hotel, so we got to stroll through all the open rooms. They were all decorated differently it felt like a museum. The pictures hung up are all atleast 50 years old and very interesting. We will definetely come back and visit this place. oh yeah, and the foods really good to :)

I called the Kenmore Inn on a whim one weekend to make a reservation. The receptionist was prompt in returning my call and helpful in guiding me to a comfortable room choice. Upon arrival, I was greeted kindly and escorted to an elegant and warm room. But it was the little things that I enjoyed the most. The complimentary carafe of sherry, the amazing rainshower showerhead, the discreet and efficient way the staff takes care of every detail. I felt safe and cared for yet not intruded upon. Breakfast in the beautifully appointed dining area was delicious. Everything I needed, including shopping, entertainment and the train station were within walking distance. My stay was only for overnight. But because I stayed here, I came home as happy and rested as if I'd taken a longer vacation.

My Daughter had her wedding here at Kenmore Inn the staff was excellant they all were so helpful & wonderful the inn is so nice and quaint we had such a wonderful time our memories will last a life time i'm looking forward to going back just to stay and enjoy the company :) Thanks again to all the Kenmore in staff.

My husband and I have stayed at the Inn a number of times while visiting our son. The friendly service and delicious breakfast makes the stay a pleasure. The owner goes out of his way to accommodate any requests- well "above and beyond". We also enjoy the cellar bar which also has excellent food. I am looking forward to saying in one of the newly redone rooms- the ony negative in the past has been the tiny bathroom.
