The 1720 Overseer's Cottage with sunny living room, Queen bedroom with working fireplace, modern double Jacuzzi bathroom, covered porch and also open deck overlooking the swimming pool. The 1850 Carriage House, our largest suite with King bedroom and working fireplace, sitting room, double Jacuzzi bathroom, private deck overlooking the pond and barns.
Sanco Pansy's cottage, honeymooners' favorite as it is about 100 yards away from the manor house in a very private setting, Queen Bedroom with double Jacuzzi bathroom and working fireplace, sitting room and front porch with scenic view facing the rising sun.The Overton Room, the master bedroom in the manor house with sitting area, working fireplace, modern double Jacuzzi bathroom, and private verandah with breakfast table overlooking the arboratum grounds.
Miss Marcie's room in the manor house with Queen poster bed and sunny sitting area, working fireplace, the only closet in the manor where the former spiral staircase from downstairs was located, and bathroom with tub/shower. This room has been redecorated with dark blue walls and white trim reflecting the original color scheme as in 1840 when this wing was added to the original 1732 manor. The original log cabin built ca. 1699 known as the Boy's Cabin for when Roger Thompson, the original settler in central Virginia, married a widow with sons who lived there and built a larger cottage just adjacent for themselves. This cabin has been used continuously since then as a schoolhouse, then as slave quarters, storage shed, and as guest quarters. This cabin is tiny with full size antique bed, working fireplace, modern double Jacuzzi bath, and private deck overlooking the swimming pool.
The lower level of Uncle Guy's House, the original slave quarters built ca.1796 with original brick nogging between wall beams and wide board pine plank floors, King bedroom with fireplace and sofa, double Jacuzzi bathroom, and private deck for breakfast just outside. The original kitchen built in 1720 and used continuously until the 1920's when a modern kitchen was added to the manor. The original cooking fireplace with 5 ft. by 5 ft. opening was modified by closing this to use as a normal fireplace. The charred ceiling and wall beams are all original and the Queen bed is now on the main level instead of the loft where the cook once slept. Now with modern Jacuzzi bathroom and tiny porch overlooking a serene pasture.
The downstairs room in Uncle Guy's House, the original slave quarters ca.1796 with King bed, sofa, double Jacuzzi bath, and private deck overlooking the former pasture and old slave cemetary.
