  • Relax on the front porch at Afton Mountain Bed & Breakfast. Enjoy the surrounding beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Skyline Drive. Located in the heart of Virginia wine country and convenient to 3 great craft breweries.
    The morning sun shines on the front of the home. Built in 1848, it remains in wonderful condition and serves as the perfect location to explore the wonders of the area.
    This is our lovely dining room where you will enjoy a delicious breakfast, beginning with homemade baked goods, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, and juices, and topped off by one of our entrée specialties.
    The Mornington room is both spacious and romantic, and is highlighted by a luxurious queen-sized, raised bed surrounded by a custom-made canopy and draperies. The room is appointed with several family antiques. You'll love the spacious bath, which includes a whirlpool tub and shower.
    In the Looking Glass Room, you'll find yourself surrounded by classic 19th century furnishings, and sleeping on a vintage Eastlake queen bed. Antique mirrors over the marble-top dresser and dressing table will remind you of a romantic era from long ago.

    Named for our 3rd President and local icon, the Jefferson Room features a luxurious wheat-carved, queen-size bed. You’ll be impressed by the stenciling on the calming tea green walls. This room offers a private bath with shower.
    Newly remodeled, the quaint Shenandoah Room on our main floor offers a taste of southern country charm in sage green and burgundy. The full-size pencil-post pine bed, with twin bedside tables and lamps, and floral star quilt, is a perfect complement to the room's simple elegance.
    The Living Room is on the main floor and serves as one of two common rooms for our guests. Here you can relax with a glass of local wine or plan your day's activities, like a hike along Blue Ridge Parkway or a visit to Thomas Jefferson's Monticello.
    The Goodwin Room at Afton Mountain Bed & Breakfast was updated in January 2013. It features a king-size bed that can be converted to two twins. The colors are light and medium mocha, with dark chocolate and blue trim. The original heart pine floors have been restored to their beautiful, warm finish. Private bath (shower) en suite.

    One night get-away

    We stayed in the Jeffereson room as a one night get-away. It was perfect for what we wanted. Orquinda and Dan were very welcoming. One benefit of Afton Mountain Bed & Breakfast was that there was so much information provided for activities, dining, and recreation within miles of the facility. This was a big help to us when choosing a place to eat dinner. The breakfast was really good as well.

    We cannot say enough good about our experience at Dan and Orquida's B&B. The hospitality was great and the healthy breakfasts were to die for. We felt right at home from the moment we got there. The location was ideal for visiting the new breweries in the area---which was our original mission. For those who enjoy skiing, Wintergreen is just around the corner, Staunten is close by for those who enjoy antique stores and history (Woodrow Wilson's birthplace and Presidential Library are there), and several wineries dot the countryside. It was one of the best B&Bs we have enjoyed, and you will too.

    Best experience I've had at a Bed & Breakfast. Warm, cozy greeting from inn keepers. Very safe and comfortable stay- slept well in the gorgeous historic Shenandoah room and woke up to the smell of bacon and hot coffee. Cleanliness was top notch, and Orquida and Dan go well out of their way to make sure your comfort is top priority. It was like I was home at mom and dad's during college break. I will be back for sure and have recommended this to all friends and family traveling in the area. Thanks Orquida and Dan!

    Perfect Anniversary Getaway

    Just what my husband and I needed...a night away in a beautiful setting, with wonderful accommodations, and with lots to do within a short distance (hiking in the snow on the Appalachian trail, bike riding the back country roads, and choosing one of the nearby breweries for food and drink. We highly recommend Afton Mtn B& B.
