The White House of Wilmington
The White House is set on the crest of a high, rolling hill overlooking the Deerfield Valley. Built in 1915 as a private summer home, the Victorian mansion was renovated and opened as an Inn in 1978 by innkeeper Robert Grinold. The Inn has been chosen as 'one of the ten most romantic inns'...New York Times, and 'one of the ten most romantic places in the world'...Boston Globe. The Inn was honored to recieve Wine Spectator Magazine's Award of Excellence in 2007 and has been highlighted as an Editor's Pick in Yankee Magazine. A locals' favorite, the restaurant at the White House Inn was voted Best Taste of the Valley in September 2007.
