My girlfriend and I stayed for 2 nights while doing some skiing at Mt. Snow. The room was excellent, very nicely decorated, with an extra comfortable king sized bed. We ate at the Tavern both evenings, and we were very impressed by the interesting cuisine that was available. We did the blind 5-course tasting on Tuesday, which was fantastic.

Jenn and I took a slow and winding trip west from Boston to southern VT for our first anniversary. What a find, this inn! After arriving, we relaxed on the front porch with a bottle of wine and a cribbage board. In the evening John recommended dinner at Apres Voux (one of three restaurants open after the Irene flooding). The place was packed, we waited an hour and well worth it. John was a terrific host and bartender as I enjoyed the NE Patriots game at the bar in the main house. Dinner at the Wilmington was a delicious treat. Since we've considered driving out and back just for dinner. We still talk about the bleu cheese and sage risotto cake. Thank you Ishmael. Our only regret that weekend was that we did not met Rachel. We'll make sure we get that chance when we go back for some skiing nearby at Mt Snow. -Scott & Jenn Matson, Boston

Extremely accomodating, and very friendly, staff. Loved the food, enjoyed the wine and our picnic lunch. The owners were always available to see to small details which made us feel very special, as if we were the only ones staying there!! Thank you John

Entire staff was 'over the top' friendly and accomodating from the moment we arrived, making for an awesome experience. Rooms were nicely appointed, bright and airy. Food was delicious, portions were on the generous side and the wine was enjoyed totally.

Wilmington Inn and Tavern A very nice inn, well located in the cute town of Wilmington. Our room (The Wilmington Room) was spacious and comfortable the food was truly exceptional and John and Rachel were excellent hosts. John was particularly helpful in checking out our onward route along the devastated Route 100. Happily the road crews had worked so hard that the whole of Route 100 was driveable by the time we left. The main dining room is wood panelled and very cosy. We ate in the inn both evenings and had two of the best meals in our whole vacation. On one of the nights a singer/guitarist performed as well and it made a memorable evening. There are a few little bits of maintenance that need attention but it would be ridiculous to criticise this when the owners have been trying so hard to help less fortunate residents in the town in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene. The town itself is coming back slowly to life and we very much hope that it will soon be thriving again. Overall – highly recommended. Bryan and Ann D. UK
