    An extraspecial inn experience

    February 11, 2013

We just returned from a weekend at the 1824 House and we loved everything about it. The Inn Keepers are so gracious and generous. The inn itself is spotless and beautiful. Our room had a simple elegance that was just perfect. We were treated to mouth-watering breakfasts - maple scones, farm fresh eggs and bacon, and scrumptious pumpkin pancakes. After a day of skiing we were greeted with homemade chocolate chip cookies that we enjoyed relaxing in the living room in front of a roaring fire. We will definitely be back!

    A Fantastic Experience

    August 14, 2010

If you're staying in the Mad Valley, you really must stay at the 1824 house. We recently stayed two nights at the 1824 House, and our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. The young innkeeper, Emily, welcomed us with fresh baked cookies and a cheerful smile. The room was tastefully appointed (unlike many places, it didn't feel like Grandma's house), quiet, and clean. We at dinner both nights at the on-site restaurant, The Barn Door. If you stay here, you have to eat here (the steak is amazing). Emily's breakfasts were as good as The Barn Door's dinners. She was also very responsive to our dietary restrictions. We couldn't have been more pleased!
