The room was large and clean, the grounds were very nice. The only complaint I have is the breakfast. I prefer more of a typical B&B breakfast experience. At 10 acres lodge you are served as if it was a resturant, you choose from a small menu, but the same items are on the menu everyday. I enjoy sitting at a group table, meeting the owners and meeting more people who are visiting.

We rented the cottage and enjoyed our weekend. Staff is very friendly and open to share Stowe recommendations from shopping to hiking to beautiful drives. We didn't recieve any attitude after arriving late - just called ahead and a key was left for us. Solid hearty breakfast and very dog friendly. Quality of cottage is inline with price, it's a little dated - not luxurious and not a dump - it's comfortable and livable. No issues with bugs or mice - seemed clean, bathroom, kitchen, rugs were vacuumed, etc. I'm not there to spend the day in the cottage and it's comfortable in the mornings and nights before bed. Bed is comfortable, not 10 years past its throw away date as in some other B&Bs. Plenty of extra pillows and blankets. Log burning fireplace is a nice touch and fully functional. Beautiful grounds, had deer outside every morning. Didn't feel caged in by any crazy schedules some B&Bs have - breakfast and dinner are at decent hours, Hot Tub is open into the night, etc. Only negative was dining - breakfast was excellent quality, hearty but difficult to order off the menu or mix plates. Dinner was expensive for what was served and the quality was quite less than desired. Should have gone into town - however we only dined in one single night and it could have been an off night.

Good, but not as good as the reviews lead me to believe

We just spent 4 days at Ten Acres Lodge and we did find the rooms spacious and the price was certainly reasonable. The innkeepers were pleasant and friendly. The bed in our room was extremely hard and uncomfortable. My husband likes a hard mattress but I woke up with a backache every morning. My daughter's boyfriend showed up at 8:00 one morning and the place was dark, even though breakfast hours were from 8:00-9:30a.m. Perhaps this is the off-season for them. Also, on one morning, the housekeeper showed up at our room at 9:20 a.m. which we thought was too early. We also found that the internet access was not great, but fortunately we didn't have to use the internet very much. All in all, it is a good value and it probably is great during ski season. We have stayed in a lot of B&Bs, mostly in Europe, and Ten Acres is good, but I wouldn't rate it higher than that.

Wow, what a great value the Ten Acres Lodge was as there are some pretty pricey other options in Stowe. Innkeepers were very cordial and accommodating, inn full of charm, Hill House Room was spacious and equipped with wood fireplace and balcony, bed was very firm, full hot breakfast was a nice treat too and all included. Couldn't have been happier with our choice. There is a hot tub and sauna on property. Only wish there was internet service in the Hill House Building (free wifi available in main lodge). Would definitely be my top choice on a return visit to Stowe.

Enjoyed our stay-Robin and Frank are so personable-and great staff also...made us feel right at home. Yummy Vermont breakfast! Had the French Toast each morning with wonderful Vt maple syrup-(the cheese omlet was outstanding also!)
