One of the last classic alpine inns in ski country. The Stowehof sits on a 30 acre private estate with sweeping vies. Built by an eclectic architect it was chosen as the site for the film "The Four Seasons" with Alen Alda and Carol Burnett. With abundant nooks and stunning "real" trees providing support and accent, the Stowehof has so much to explore. Check out our on site Restaurant and Pub and our famous 5.95 burger and beer. Worth the stop even if you are staying somewhere else. I hope to see you in Stowe soon. CJ Grimes

We stayed out of season and chose this hotel due to the on site restaurant which according to the website was open. When we arrived it wasn't open for another few weeks. Don't mind if it isn't open just would like accurate information on the website.

This most recent visit was our third visit in the past three years. Phyllis and I (Joe), just love this resort (inn). We drive 650 miles to enjoy what we consider the best place to stay in Stowe. We travel and have stayed at many other B&B inns. Clean, Great dining, great pub, outgoing staff. Horse drawn sleigh rides, fireside dining, living room fireplaces and the overall ambiance will make our memories of the Stowehof Inn something we will cherish forever. We can't wait till fall to return and experience the fall season at the Stowehof Inn. Chris, Susan, family, and staff have made this Inn a very special experience for us time and time again.

My wife and I truly enjoyed this rustic bavarian establishment for our holiday weekend. You walk into this place and you get the sense of its authenticity, which is then confirmed once you meet the people. Can't wait to go back!

We had a lovely weekend in stowe over the fourth of july. The weather was finally starting to warm up. We spent most of our time on the Rec path which was sooooo beautiful and fun. We jumped into the river, even though the sun was definately not out. The restaurants in town were so great. Also the hotel restaurant served delicious breakfast ever am. The pancakes were amazing and the omlettes were tasty. Our room was really beautiful with a view of the grounds and pool. However my husband and I did not like the two twin beds pushed together. For 260$ a night i was expecting a real king size bed. Or at least a king size mattress pad ontop so the beds would stay together better. We kept falling through the center during the night. If it werent for this I would have had a much better opinion of our room. The outdoor pool area was beautiful and you felt like you were in the mountains as you were swimming.

A beautifully furnished inn with a touch of nostalgia from the past. Beautiful "apres ski" area with books, antiques, fireplace and perfect ambiance! Exquisite grounds with beautiful landscaping which blends into the natural setting perfectly.
