We have been return guests at RHI for many, many years. Brian and Leslie, and the RHI staff are absolutely wonderful. All the rooms are cozy and romantic. The breakfasts and dinners are amazing and absolutely delicious! We highly recommend this inn for a romantic getaway from it all.

This visit was a gift for my sister's 50th birthday - we all enjoyed the Inn, the area, the food, the weather, everything was perfect. Slept better than I had in months!

The Rabbit Hill Inn is genuinely one of the finest bed and breakfast inns we have stayed in. The Inn is impeccably maintained and the innkeepers, Leslie & Brian, bring an exceptional warmth and personal touch to your stay. This Inn has it all - wonderfully decorated rooms, several sitting areas in and around the inn, a little “pub”, excellent dining (especially breakfast), a library, afternoon tea, turn down service, beautiful grounds… peaceful and comfortable. Littleton is just a short drive away offers quaint shopping and dinner options including our favorite, the Schilling Beer Company. Placed in the heart of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, the beautiful Vermont & New Hampshire mountains offer a plethora of scenic drives, picnicking, hiking and outdoor adventure options. A must stay if you love Vermont & B&B’s!

Outstanding 3 days of doing alittle sightseeing but more just using and enjoying the Inn. No detail of making you feel comfortable goes without notice by Brian and Leslie. They want your stay to be the best you have ever had at a B and B. and they accomplished that with us.. Thanks again for a great stay!!!

My husband and I are returning guests and we love to stay at Rabbit Hill Inn. Brian and Leslie make us feel like family. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. We look forward to our next stay.

We cannot begin to describe how wonderful our experience at Rabbit Hill was. We are still trying to figure out how to return to regular life. Brian and Leslie are probably the best Inn Keeper's that exist. Don is their right hand man to take care of all your needs. Never have we experienced a place as friendly and magical as the Rabbit Hill Inn. Food: Top Notch. Service: Above Excellent. Room: Amazing. No place better that we can imagine. We are already planning our return trip.

The innkeepers are the best in attention to details to make your stay delightful and relaxing. We wouldn't go anywhere else for a get-away!

My wife and I had a wonderful time celebrating our 15 year anniversery here. They really pamper you and make you feel at home. Breakfast and dinner at the Inn was delicious. Their advice on local activities and dining was excellent. We loved the rustic decor in the Cedar Glenn room. The whirl pool tub was very relaxing after a day of hiking in the mountains. We will not soon forget our stay at Rabbit Hill Inn.

Brian and Leslie made us feel right at home. All the staff was friendly and welcoming. Beautiful rooms, delicious food! Hanging out at the pub doing puzzles in the evening were the highlight of our day. We will be returning!

We were on a motorcycle trip from Ontario Canada to Moncton NB and decided to stop at the Rabbit Hill Inn for the night. It was a perfect oasis! They helped us with our concerned with parking of the Motorcycle (Vermont is very hilly so we were concerned about the motorcycle tipping during the night) and found a spot that worked perfectly. They also helped us to map out our trip from Vermont to Bangor Maine taking only back roads! They went above and beyond a typical B & B! I would highly recommend staying here!

Everything about Rabbit Hill Inn is the best. The innkeepers go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome and comfortable, and our food allergy issues were met with above and beyond acknowledgement and substitutions. We'll be back! THANKS!!

The staff and owners of the Rabbit Hill Inn are the friendliest that we've come across while traveling. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome and taken care of. No request was too much and their was sincerity with everyone word and action. The accommodations were more than comfortable and welcoming. We highly recommend it!

We have been going to Rabbit Hill Inn for 17 years. Often, multiple time a year. If it wasn't fabulous, we certainly would not be going every year. It is the Inn that all other inns are compared to.

We have visited Rabbit Hill Inn for over 20 years many times and always find it absolutely perfect in every way. What else to say?!

Thank you very much to the Rabbit Hill Inn for the amazing wedding and hosting the wedding party of the Stephen's family! It turned out to be everything we had hoped for and more. We were very impressed with the staff's attention to detail and our needs even going as far to make pancakes before the wedding, bringing a large glass of orange juice at breakfast, and helping us get into our wedding attire! We cannot begin to thank you for being flexible with the flight delays and bad weather. Rarely are business owners so flexible with their guests and make a special phone call to make sure we were ok during bad weather when we did not show up on time. I am happy to report that the stay exceeded the expectations of everyone in the wedding party and great comments were made about the stay and wedding at the Rabbit Hill Inn. Everyone we talk to is as amazed by the stories and that there is an inn like the Rabbit Hill Inn. I am also happy to report that married life is going great! Thank you for being a part of our special day!

We stayed at Rabbit Hill Inn following a ski weekend at Bretton Woods. We had a wonderful time. The Inn is beautiful. The staff is warm and caring. They are genuine in their passion for making sure you enjoy your time with them. The breakfasts were amazing and the dinners (we ate in the dining room each evening during our stay) are fantastic. The menu is unique and offers something for everyone. The whole experience was wonderful - warm and romantic. We would recommend it to family and friends without hesitation and will definitely return ourselves.

We had a marvelous weekend stay with the folks of Rabbit Hill Inn. The Inn is beautifully maintained and the owners & staff are attentive and helpful. This was a wonderful base for our getaway weekend, with good local activities available. One aspect of the Inn that is different than others we have stayed in is the inviting nature of the common areas. The available games, puzzles, and super comfortable places to sit and read ensured there was a positive atmosphere and buzz about the place. If you are planning a trip to the area, we couldn't recommend it more highly.
5 on February 22, 2014
The Rabbit Hill Inn is amazingly perfect in every way. You will never need to ask for anything as Brian, Leslie, and staff have already thought about your needs. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and each one is different. The food is 5 star in our estimation. The parlor, living room, and Snotty Pub are great gathering places if you wish to socialize with other guests. We've been going for over 20 years!
4.6 on February 19, 2014
We have been retreating to Rabbit Hill for almost 20 years and think of it as "our place." Brian and Leslie pay attention to detail and do their best to accommodate all of your wishes and needs. It's a beautiful Inn in every season. Winter feels most cozy with a fireplace room but visit in the summer and enjoy the beautiful gardens and porches.

A lovely inn nestled in upper Vermont. Leslie and Brian truly love what they do and it is reflected in all the personal and unique touches thorough out. They have thought of everything to make your stay a magical and unforgettable one. We stayed in one of their luxury rooms and when you closed the door it was as if you were in your own private cabin deep in the woods. Our only issue is which room do we choose for our next stay!!
5 on January 13, 2014
Our first time to Rabbit Hill Inn but not our first time in a B&B. The trip was planned by my wife for our 45th anniversary. She wanted to stay at a B&B in VT. We looked at an old B&B book and selected our choices then whithled them down with Rabbit Hill Inn in the lead. Our / my expectations were for a quite time and being together. I was surprised with champagne and cake with balloons all over our room. We are looking to come again for our birthdays. Excellent and very friendly staff looking to your every need and the madding STAVE puzzles.

The Rabbit Hill Inn is a treasure tucked away in the mountains of Vermont. From the Inn keepers to all the staff, there is a feeling of comfort and relaxation. The rooms are exquisite , each with their own special decor. The food is absolutely delicious served in a beautiful atmosphere. The feeling of total relaxation consumes the body as soon as you enter through the front door. I highly recommend the Rabbit Hill Inn.

Rabbit Hill Inn is special in every way...from decor to furnishings to design to uniqueness...to food and staff. I have stayed in many B & B's over the years and this is the best by far...and I enjoyed the others. The innkeepers, Leslie and Brian, pay attention to every detail and really care about their guests and staff. A most wonderful experience. Randy Kautto, Chatham, NY.

After lodging at Rabbit Hill Inn annually for over 25 years, I find the Inn just as charming and warm as the first year I arrived. Dining, breakfast and dinner, are over the top and you never quite know what wonderful dishes will be offered this year. Hospitality is both personal and professional. As I see the same repeat guests like me that come year after year, you know the inn keepers and staff have to provide the quality people expect to retain such loyalty.

My husband and I travelled to Northern Vermont to experience the foliage. The foliage was beautiful all through the area! However, little did I know that I would be equally fascinated with Rabbit Hill Inn. The house is a wonderful place to stay with beautiful sceneries. It was very relaxing and romantic. The breakfast and dinner at the Inn was amazing and truly deserves five stars. All the staff are very friendly and the hospitality is incredible. Leslie was extremely helpful in suggesting places to visit in the area and routes to take. Thank you very much for making our stay wonderful and memorable. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

Prior to embarking on a Canadian cruise, we three sisters and our husbands gathered from around the country to spend a few days in lovely New England. We were fortunate enough to discover Rabbit Hill Inn, and made that our home away from home for three days, which turned out to be way too short!

We have always appreciated the beauty of vintage homes, furnishings and other items from our country's treasured past. Our hopes of finding a beautiful and romantic place to be together were more than achieved. The atmosphere of Rabbit Hill Inn combined with the beauty of the Fall colors in Vermont more than exceeded our expectations. Truly a dream come true

This was our second time staying at Rabbit Hill Inn and it was even better than the first. Warm welcomes, top notch service, friendly staff and innkeepers, and food beyond compare all made our stay a delight. These are only some of the reasons that brought us back for a second (but not the last!) visit. We look forward to our next stay.

I have been coming to Rabbit Hill for 40 years, from child to adult and now had my wedding on the front steps... WE as a couple had to do NOTHING but show up... We visited in July for a fun weekend, said we would be back in August for Marriage... And it was all done for us.
5 on September 03, 2013
This was our ninth visit for our eighteenth anniversary. Leslie and Brian know how to pamper their guests. The inn is very charming, the food is great. The Stave® Puzzles are madding , however, addictive. This is a great place to relax and unwind, out side pressures just evaporate. We would highly recommend the Rabbit Hill Inn to anyone that likes; to be pampered, good food, romantic setting, in a beautiful corner of the world.

Everything was run in a very professional manner. Room was large and immaculate. We arrived about 5 pm and left around 11 the next day, so didn't get to appreciate everything that the inn has to offer. Nice grounds. We had dinner in the Inn and had the included breakfast the next day. Dinner was outstanding, but pricey, and my chicken dish was skimpy in size (and I usually don't feel this way). For breakfast, there were two choices (plus a good-sized buffet of smaller items). We both had blueberry funnel cake, which was only OK. Pancakes or waffles would would have been preferable.

We were planning my wife's 4 day birthday motorcycle tour of the New England States and found this lovely B&B and wanted to make it a stop for us. Brian and Leslie were kind enough to accomodate our 'one night' stay as we needed to be back in Boston the next day and we were so happy with our experience there! Gracious hosts and their Manager, Tom was equally resourceful and accomodating. Our room was warm and inviting and clean as a pin! The dinner was delicious and we had the good fortune to make new friends during cocktail hour who joined us for dinner and a scrumptious breakfast in the morning! A wonderful experience and we will certainly try to make it back! Clearly a 10 in our book!

Since we were en route from one distant place to another, Rabbit Hill provided a welcome rest stop. However, next time we'll extend the stop to give us time to enjoy and see the many attractions within a short drive of the Inn. The staff were very helpful and cheerful -- service was immediate. Loved the puzzles!

My husband and I were married on Aug. 16, 2013, and knew we couldn't take a honeymoon right away, but at least wanted to go away for the weekend. After a long debate as to where we were going to go, we decided on Vermont, and went to tripadvisor to find a place to stay. The Rabbit Hill Inn was the first that caught my eye. I can't even begin to put into words how fabulous our stay was. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. Brian, Leslie and the staff were incredible, and made you feel right at home. The food is absolutely amazing (and don't get me going on the desserts!). We were very happy with our decision to stay at the Rabbit Hill Inn, and we hope to make it up there at least yearly to experience it again and again!

My wife and I stayed at Rabbit Hill Inn in 1982 on a ramble through Vermont and New Hampshire. That stay has lived in our memories for the beauty of the inn, the charming setting, and the gracious staff, not to mention the outstanding food. Last week we found ourselves once again in that part of the country and decided to see how the inn had held up across the decades. We are happy to report that it remains one of the most splendid hotels we have ever visited. Everything we loved about it 30 years ago is still there, as first-class as ever. The staff have changed, of course, but the friendly and expert service, the attention to detail, the lovely rooms and furnishings, all worked together to make the Rabbit Hill experience as much a delight in 2013 as it was in 1982. The food is still wonderful too!

Exceptionally rare find in a fairly remote part of the northeast. The Rabbit Hill Inn offers a unique combination of gracious country charm with exceptional efforts made toward personal attention. I'm not sure this inn could exist anywhere else, certainly not in a mass transit city. Worth the extra miles for an ultra-relaxing experience. Dining is truly exceptional for VT. Staff masters the art of attentive and personal but not intrusive. It is relatively expensive.

We have stayed in B&Bs before but this one stands out amongst them all. The rooms are unique, the service is superb, and the friendly staff can't be beat. This is our third stay. We traveled from CA to VT to enjoy some peace and relaxation and we got it!

The Rabbit Hill Inn was an exceptional experience. From Leslie and Brian's welcome to the exquisite Music Room to the unbelievably elegant meals and the lovely grounds and flowers, our experience surpassed our expectations. The staff was friendly, efficient and unobtrusive, and the puzzles in the parlor began to become habit forming. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing and enjoyable experience. A beautiful setting, a wonderful atmosphere, and a memorable getaway. We will be giving a gift certificate to Rabbit Hill Inn to our daughter and son-in-law so they can create some of lasting memories of their own.

A very very nice get away. The Rabbit Hill Inn is a very charming, and desirable place to get away from all the real world pressures. The Inn is beautifully decorated with pictures and charming details. The staff is like returning to a family who think of all details to make one feel comfortable and relaxed. The breakfast meals were so filling and delicious. We will always remember the puzzles after dinner and how good we slept after a full day of activities that were mapped out for us by the staff.

We enjoyed all the amenities this inn has to offer. We love the cozy candlelight dinners and breakfast. Common areas in the pub & livingroom are casual comfy. Our room was our escape and sanctuary. Hiking the trails next door to the Inn during a snow shower was a winter wonderland. The staff and Innkeepers are truly the best part and what makes this bed and breakfast an exceptional place to stay.

We originally chose the Rabbit Hill Inn as a convenient halfway point on our trip to Quebec, but instantly fell in love with the uniquely decorated rooms, delightful afternoon tea (perfect after a long trip), cozy pub, and elegant restaurant warmed by candlelight and a fireplace. Brian. Leslie and their staff make us feel right at home. We were so delighted with our experience that we immediately booked a room for our return trip. We intend to make the Rabbit Hill Inn our destination for a future, longer trip.

Our first visit to Rabbit Hill Inn was for our honeymoon in August of 1995. We are fortunate to live with in two hours of the inn; therefore, we have been back many times. It is always a regenerative experience; Leslie & Brian with Don's assistance always make you feel like you are the most important guests they have. No request is too small or large. We have already booked a room for our 18th anniversary.

We just returned from a wonderful few days at Rabbit Hill Inn (RHI). We first visited the Inn 10 years ago based on suggestions from friends. We have been back twice each year (summer & winter) ever since. Our stay this past week was fantastic. We stayed in the Sterling, which is a newly renovated room on the second floor of the main house. It was wonderful!! We have stayed in many of the rooms at RHI over the years and they are all great! You really can not go wrong. We had dinner in the dining room each evening while we were there. It is truely a fine dining experience - wonderful selections, fabulous presentation, outstanding knowledgeable service from Jen, our server. It is a wonderful compliment to the entire RHI experience. Brian, Leslie, Donn and the entire staff at RHI have a passion unlike anything I've ever seen in all my years of traveling - for business or vacation. We are already looking forward to our summer trip to RHI!

Upscale, Quaint, Peaceful,.. Rabbit Hill Inn was the perfect Inn to celebrate our 30th anniversary. From the moment we stepped into the Rabbit Hill Inn, we were graciously greeted and spoiled rotten for 3 days with impeccable service, phenomenal dining, and the most romantic setting ever. We thoroughly enjoyed the scrumptious afternoon tea, elegant fine dining, and relaxing in the Pub in the evening. This all contributed to making the most memorable vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay at Rabbit Hill. Our only complaint was the menu. We found it to be too "far out" for our tastes. We had to send back some soup that seemed to have no flavor in the broth. And my husband was unhappy with two of the entrees. The breakfasts were good, tho. And Brian and Leslie are outstanding hosts.

Even though cloudy and rainy our visit was amazing. The staff and the scenery were wonderful and we would come again. We got to know some of the staff in an unique way. It reminded of us our honeymoon, of the special attention to details and the little extras they do for you. Our year has been a very busy one with a lot of changes in our lives and this was a nice get away to get refocused. Thank you boys for doing this for us, and thank you Brian & Leslie for a wonderful weekend. Chris & Gail Shirk Bowmansville, PA

Rabbit Hill Inn is by far my favorite B&B I have stayed in to date. I wanted to settle in and never leave! Each room is done so beautifully it will be hard to decide which one to choose on our next visit. We stayed in The Music Room during our stay in September, 2012. Every aspect of the room was perfectly done with our comfort and enjoyment in mind. I loved all the various bunny decor throughout the property from the rabbit doll on our bed to the rabbits on the fireplace grills to the porcelain ones for sale, of which I took one home with me! Their bar and game room are cozy and we loved the Stave puzzles. Brian, Leslie, Don and the rest of the inn staff were absolutely wonderful! The dining room was very tastefully done and the food was wonderful. You must put the Rabbit Hill Inn on your list of B&Bs to stay at when visiting the Vermont area!!

Our stay surpassed all of my expectations on what we were looking for in a B& B. The moment we stepped into the foyer, and were greeted by Susan, I certainly felt special. We stayed in the Music Room, it was romantic and enchanting with just the lanterns lit. When we walked into the room it reminded me of visiting my grandparents on Christmas Day night as they had no electricity but had kerosene lanterns to provide the light. Our dinner was surperb, breakfast was outstanding and very romantic with candles lit on all tables. The stave puzzles were a lot of fun for both of us and watching others work on their puzzles. They have a full service bar and it was very relaxing. We are already planning on going back in 2 years. Rabbit Hill Inn is close to our hearts with memories to last a life time. Thank you Brian and Leslie for your generous hospitality in your home. Your staff is outstanding. Thank You!

Our room was extremely well appointed, clean and comfortable, the service was outstanding, the owners are passionate about what they are doing and it shows, the food was exquisite, be it breakfast or dinner in their lovely small dining room. Attention to detail is remarkable, we have met lovely people (other guests) and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Would highly recommend.

We have traveled all over the world and have stayed in many nice places, but this was the only place where we felt as if we were visiting friends who were trying to anticipate all our needs. I have never had such hands-on hospitality. The food was fabulous and we truly were relaxed. I think every couple should experience this place at least once. We definitely plan on coming back. I wish it were closer, as we would try more often, but it is definitely in our future plans....Tony & Holly

We can't wait for our next trip back to Rabbit Hill Inn!

Rabbit Hill Inn is located in one of the most beautiful parts of the United States that I am aware of. My preference is fall foliage time, but I also enjoyed a winter experience at the Inn as well. You will soak up the charm and comfort of the Inn and be waited on hand and foot by the professional staff. It is hard to find a better restaurant which comes with multiple entree selections and a well balanced wine list. Or course being a B and B, breakfast is fantastic with great choices or just about any type of breakfast you desire.

From the moment we cross the threshold we are "home" again for a few days of peace and relaxation. We are able to leave our "harried" world behind and enjoy the little things we often forget in our daily lives. Brian and Leslie and their staff are amazing and the food is the best we have ever had. My husband and I love to plan "surprise" B&B getaways for each other to celebrate special life occasions. He has surprised me twice with a visit to the Rabbit Hill Inn in Lower Waterford, VT. From the moment you enter the door of this beautiful, romantic inn, you are pampered and treated like royalty by Brian, Leslie and the RHI staff. The rooms are comfortable and the food is extraordinary. I guarantee, you will not be disappointed!

incredible service, incredible food, incredible accomodations.

This past Labor Day weekend was our fourth stay at RHI, and Brian and Leslie's presence never fails to deliver. The ambience is colonial New England with a nice variety of decor in many of the rooms, plus a delicious full breakfast that has you leaving the calorie-counter at home. It's perfect for a quiet getaway (no TV!), with little to disturb those guests (including us) who are hard at work on one of the many Stave puzzles available in the keeping room....

My husband and I recently stayed at the Rabbit Hill Inn for three nights over the Labor Day long weekend. We live in the Boston area and have made frequent visits to B&Bs in the NH/VT area over the last many years; we usually try new places on each visit, but we enjoyed this visit so much that we will definitely become repeat customers. Other online reviews have lavished praise on the hospitality and warmth of the innkeepers, Leslie and Brian, and we found that reputation to be completely deserved. They and their team made us feel completely at home, and were attentive while being unobtrusive and low-key. The common areas are filled with games and books, and we loved being able to indulge in them, in each other company, or in chatting with the other guests, depending on our mood. (I have to join the chorus of other fans of the clever and difficult Stave jigsaw puzzles; on our last day we had to stay to finish one more puzzle before getting on the road.) Leslie and Brian clearly love what they do, and have built an incredibly hospitable, wonderful retreat where we could truly relax and get away from our day-to-day worries. We look forward to our next stay!

Alone for a few days, I wanted a mini-vacation where I could relax in peace and enjoy some outdoor recreation. Rabbit Hill Inn proved to be the perfect spot. Luxury, warm and friendly reception, delicious food, excellent service. I'm returning again next week for more of the same, and surely will return again and again, hopefuly not alone--this is a great place to be with someone special.

We stayed at the Rabbit Hill Inn 18 years ago on our honeymoon and it was the first time back. The Top of the Tavern Room was incredible! The breakfasts were just as we remembered and were amazing. The inn has a bar/tavern that is a great place to end the evening and we enjoyed a night cap on our last night. A special thank you to Brian and Leslie for making our visit feel just like it did 18 years before. Hopefully, it won't be another 18 years before we're back! For those who haven't visited this incredible inn, it should be on your MUST list of inns to visit!
5 on August 15, 2012
This is one of the finest places I have ever stayed. Everything is done to perfection.
5 on August 12, 2012
This was our third visit to the Rabbit Hill Inn, and we were not disappointed. Our well appointed spotless room overlooked the NH mountains and had a semi private balcony. Dinner was unbelievable from the apetizer to the dessert, and the breakfast buffet also included a choice of two entrees. All of the staff members made us feel like we had "come home." We did the kayaking weekend trip which was well worth the price! We will definitely be back again!

The Rabbit Hill Inn was recommended to us several years ago. This year we decided to give it a try for a couple of nights. We cannot begin to describe how welcome we were made to feel upon arrival. The service was above and beyond, and breakfast and dinner were fabulous. We had no issues with cleanliness of the rooms, or the condition of the rooms. In fact the room we had was a very relaxing place to be. It had a oversized bath tub with water jets, gas fire place, a love seat and Canadian Glider. The owners and the staff were always available to make suggestions about things to do in the area. They were willing to help with reservations for the many activities in the area. The Inn common areas are spacious and had an atmosphere of calm. I can say I came home feeling very relaxed and calm after the two nights spent at Rabbit Hill Inn. I hope to make a stay at Rabbit Hill Inn an annual event.

My wife and I look forward to our annual trip to spend time with Brian, Leslie, Don and the staff at Rabbit Hill, We are welcomed as family and catered to. The rooms are well appointed and well kept. The meals exquisite (we've never eaten breakfast or dinner anywhere else), our special needs are met without asking (my wife has allergies - they keep track of it and prepare for it), the bar is well tended by Brian and Don and OH the PUZZLES. We LOVE the Stave puzzles. We do one a day (oops - very like gave away who this is - oh well). A wonderful experience that we plan to continue to enjoy.

From the moment you enter the doors of the Rabbit Hill Inn, you know you made a very good decision. The people, the decor, the peaceful and relaxing feeling are just one of the few things that will surely make your stay very pleasant. My husband and I were in our 5th anniversary for this trip and we were looking for a romantic place to spend a few nights away from our everyday life, and we certainly found it at rabbit Hill Inn. I can forget to mention that dinner was delicious, and there was a lot of it too... really... a lot!! Breakfast was also so fresh and good! Brian, Leslie and all the staff members where wonderful and very accommodating. If you are planning a romantic getaway, or you just want to disconnect from the craziness of the big city, I truly recommend it.

We've stayed at Rabbit Hill over a dozen times and we would visit more often if it wasn't an 8 hour drive away , Every time we visit we feel like we're we coming home. Brian and Leslie and the rest of their staff are the so friendly and welcoming. We've stayed in 5 or more rooms and have loved them all. And the food at--the bountiful breakfasts, afternoon teas and dinners--is all superbly delicious. This place is simply the best!

After wanting to stay at this B&B for a very long time, all the stars and planets finally aligned and allowed me to book an overnight stay in mid-May. We might have arrived in rainy weather but once inside the Rabbit Hill Inn, the world was more than sunny! Leslie and Brian are by far the most gracious and caring hosts we have ever encountered and this is reflected throughout every part of the Rabbit Hill Inn. I chose to surprise my partner with the "Just Us" party option that Rabbit Hill offers. The special touches waiting for us in our room were indescribably wonderful to return to after having enjoyed a delicious meal in their dining room. Romance was woven into every minute of our stay whether we were looking for it or not. We are both looking forward to a return visit to this magical place.

From start to finish, Rabbit Hill Inn is absolute perfection. The beauty of the historic inn is the very first thing you will notice as you enter. The attention to detail is amazing as you pass from room to room. From the fine china in the dinning room to the beautiful natural light in the Snooty Fox Pub, each turn brings you to a new and more charming place. The themed bedrooms are so much more then the typical bed and breakfast. Each room boasts more then enough space to stretch out and relax. We stayed in Cedar Glen which had a king size bed, large hot tub spa, a fireplace with a living room seating area and a beautiful bathroom. We were amazingly comfortable and happy with our room. Each evening we returned from dinner to find a new and romantic surprise awaiting us, yet another testament to the great attention to detail that is taken by the owners and staff to ensure a special experience for all who visit. The views of the white mountains are incredible. But the best part of the entire experience is the people. The owners, Brian and Leslie, welcome you to the inn as family. We were greeted with a hug and many smiles. They were quick to suggest the best things to do while staying there and then followed that with detailed directions and literature for whatever you chose to do. Whatever your heart desired, they were more then accommodating and went out of their way to make certain you were not just satisfied, but genuinely happy! And each and every member of the staff met us with smiles and warmth. There is no doubt, you will find Rabbit Hill Inn to the be the perfect getaway for a relaxing and romantic retreat.

My wife and I stayed at Rabbit Hill for two very enjoyable nights in March of this year. We have stayed at many B & B’s but not many rise to the standards set by Rabbit Hill. From the time of our check in until our departure, our every need was met. When my wife made our reservation, she was asked if there were any dietary needs, she advised that I had recently been diagnosed with Celiac Disease. To my surprise afternoon Tea always included a gluten free treat. Rabbit Hill also has a restaurant and again accommodations were made to the menu so that I had GF choice. This also carried through to breakfast. It was gratifying to me that so much thought was put into my dietary needs. Brian and Leslie and all the staff were attentive but not intrusive. Our room was comfortable and spotless and a great place to return to at the end of a day of sightseeing. I would not hesitate to make another trip to Vermont and certainly will stay at Rabbit Hill Inn.

As anyone who has ever visited Rabbit Hill Inn knows, there is no place like "home" away from home. Here everything one could ever want is beautifully before you. One leaves completely rested, at peace and more than contented. In fact you don't want to leave and would like to stay indefinitely! Accommodation, repast and general atmosphere is superb and the entire staff, especially Brian and Leslie, make your stay unforgettable with their helpfulness, warmth and hospitality. For over 20 years it has been our favorite escape.

\e dont know how they do it but even the weather was phoenomenal. During the eight years we have been staying here, each time is so romantic and relaxing. We have stayed in a different room each time in a quest to stay in every room at the INN. This place is so magical and will always have a special place in our hearts as do Brian, Leslie and Staff!

Can not possibly say enough positive things about Rabbit Hill Inn! We have stayed twice and been nothing but thrilled with every aspect of this wonderful inn. The rooms are gorgeous, the owners and staff have such attention to detail in everything they do, and time spent there is truly relaxing and perfect. The dining is amazing, from breakfast to the afternoon tea and snacks to dinner - we have never had anything we didn't love!

My husband and I returned to Rabbit Hill Inn after spending our honeymoon there 30 years ago. The Inn has been keep beautifully and is even nicer than it was 30 years ago. We stayed in "our" room which has been updated but retained the same lovely color scheme and antique canopy bed. We had a wonderful week. The food was excellent, the service outstanding, and we enjoyed a mix of day trips put together by the staff and quiet days around the Inn. We look forward to going back again soon.
5 on February 10, 2012
The Rabbit Hill Inn is phenomenal. The moment we walk through the doors and hear the words "Welcome Home" we are able to leave our hectic lives behind. No tv, minimum cellphone coverage, makes it so worth while and so easy to leave it at the door! Brian and Leslie are fantastic along with their very professional and heart warming staff. The food is incredible, as if the chef is only cooking for you. Freshly prepared for each guest and never ceases to amaze us. We love it and look forward to our stay each year.

I booked this trip for my longtime girlfriend as a Christmas Present. I read all the reviews and knew this would be a nice trip, but I never thought it would be as AMAZING as it actually was. We stayed in The Nest and the room was SOOOO UNBELIEVABLE. It was ridiculously romantic, super clean, sexy, classy, beautiful, and pretty much any other positive quality you would want in a room. I have stayed in nice rooms before but never a place where the staff thinks and prepares EVERY last little detail. The actual Inn is just as amazing as the room. Its historical ambiance goes hand in hand with the romance and intimacy of the Inn. Its super clean with plenty of public space, including a large variety of activities to keep you busy, including books, magazines, newspapers, puzzles, board games, and the best of all...the other guests, who are usually sitting somewhere in the public areas ready for quaint conversation over a delicious cup of tea, coffee, a beer or any other drink and small snack you prefer. The Inn is perfectly placed in Lower Waterford, which has managed to maintain the perfect idea of a historical New England Town. So wonderful, peaceful, clean, and just flat out amazing, Lower Waterford and the Rabbit Hill Inn are a perfect match. The staff is so attentive, courteous, polite, welcoming, and authentic you have no choice but to feel right at home the moment you walk into the Inn. Paying attention to EVERY LITTLE DETAIL you don't have to worry about a thing during your time at the Inn. At times it seems so amazing that they know exactly what your thinking before your even thinking it...I don't know how the Inn Keepers managed to find such an amazing staff but I cannot imagine a better combination of staff members put together in one place. I will make the review on the food quick...ITS AMAZING!!!!! Trust me, I love to eat!
5 on January 21, 2012
The rooms are spotless and contain all the amenities one could want. The owners and staff are attentive and their attention to detail is superb. You'll want for nothing. The restaurant offers outstanding fare and I suggest you book for dinner every night you're there. There seems to be something new and exciting every meal. The Pub is a wonderful place to gather at the end of the day to reflect on your adventures and plan tomorrow's. Brian, Leslie, Don and the staff are fantastic hosts...you'll not be disappointed when you stay here.

Rabbit Hill Inn is like no other place we have ever stayed. That is why we have returned every year for the past twenty years. The Innkeepers, Brian and Leslie, make us feel like we are a member of the family. Every detail is attended to, right down to the antics of the bunnies on the beds. The food is extraordinary, with such variety that it is difficult to choose among the fabulous dishes. Truly a place to relax and feel completely pampered.

We just wrapped up our 6 night honeymoon stay at The Rabbit Hill Inn and could not be more thrilled with our experience. Hands down, this is the best B&B we've ever stayed in anywhere in the country. The accommodations are superb - clean, spacious, and chock full of amenities, but the staff is truly the best part! Brian and Leslie, as well as their entire staff, make running an Inn of this caliber look easy, and that's saying a lot! From the advice and information they provided to us about surrounding areas and activities, to the ahhh-mazing meals and treats they served (and we even tried to throw a monkey wrench into that with a gluten allergy, which they handled with ease!) the entire experience was perfect. We stayed in both Cedar Glen and Tavern's Secret rooms and can't decide which was better! As with all of their rooms, each has a unique personality and something to offer everyone. Our only regret was having to leave! Rabbit Hill Inn is now our favorite vacation spot and we can't wait to return!

I spent hours and hours trying to find the perfect place to getaway for a romantic getaway. Finally, decided on the RHI and it was a great decision! I do wish because of the 4 hour drive we stayed 3 nights vs 2! I would have like to enjoy the area (Franconia State Park) for another day - hiking! This service at RHI is amazing. The people are great, the food is great, the pastries and hot choc are great! Its all excellent - not your usually day to day - its all a treat!

We just returned from our trip to the RHI and we had a very nice stay. I was disappointed with the food at dinner, as I had read many reviews about the wonderful dining experience there. The breakfast was good, but not spectacular. On the other hand, the service and friendliness of the staff was top-notch and not stuffy or pretentious. Just lovely people.

We have stayed at many B & B's but this one is by far the best. Everyone on the staff was considerate, friendly and couldn't do more for you. Our every wish was filled before we had to ask. Dinner the night we arrrived was outstanding as well as the packed lunch that we requested. No ordinary sandwiches here! And so much food that we didn't need dinner that evening! I must comment on the adorable little rabbit that was so tenderly tucked in bed at night. My husband just loved it as well as the extra little gifts that were in the room each night after turn down. What an outstanding place this is. We will return again and again and again.

The Mulcahys have a knack for making all of their guests feel special, cared for, and welcome. Going to Rabbit Hill is like coming home--a warm, charming place in a beautiful setting. The chef and kitchen staff deliver creative, wonderfully flavorful, and beautifully prepared meals. Afternoon tea, stave puzzles, the lovely accommodations, hikes on the property, the Snooty Fox pub--all bring us back to Rabbit Hill again and again. Brian and Leslie are more than innkeepers--they are family.

We were impressed with the Inn the moment we stepped in the front door and were greeted by Leslie & Don (and Brian, too, whom we met later). The cleanliness of our room and the entire inn was outstanding. The staff from housekeeping to the dining room were so friendly and welcoming that we really did feel at home. Our meals were exceptional, delicious and served by most accomodating servers! The highlight had to be "our" Music Room..spacious, clean, beautifully decorated and filled with ambience....very fitting, as we are the parents of three musicians, with two granddaughters waiting to fill their shoes! We hope we have the opportunity to visit again and to try some of the other B&B's in the book that was presented to us on our departure. We DEFINTELY recommend Rabbit Hill Inn!

I surprised my wife with a trip to a VT B&B for her Birthday and fortunately had the pleasure of staying at The Rabbit Hill Inn for 4 nights. Brian and Leslie were great hosts and exceeded our every expectation as did their entire staff. The breakfast and dinners were absolutely great as was the service. I wish we had the time to extend our stay. We plan on returning soon for more puzzle solving and relaxation. Thanks to everyone at the Inn for making our stay special. Matt

Not only is the location sublime - the view of Franconia Notch from our third-floor suite were gorgeous even during heavy rains from Hurricane Irene - but the innkeepers and staff are friendly without coming off as obsequious or nosy. What struck us most is the quiet of the area, too, and just how genuine everyone is in the surrounding towns as well as among the guests. The energy of Rabbit Hill is very fresh and calming, while still feeling like home. Plus, the proximity to activities in New Hampshire and Vermont is perfect.

My lady and myself needed a few days away and picked Rabbit Hill Inn from the internet. We took "Molly's Promise" as a room, and from checkin, from which time Don never forgot our names, to walking into the room for the first time and finding it better than the wonderful photo on the web, to the general ambiance of the stay it was better than we thought it would be and was, all in all, one of the best B&B's we have ever been to. The food was high quality, the wine list extraordinary for a B&B, the decor charming (we thought so much of one of the peices that we asked our hosts where to get one and bought it before leaving.) The rooms are more than generous in size, as are the bath facilities. The fireplace provides a wonderful ambience, and the bunny (doll) on the bed a warm welcome every time. The local attractions are very good, with staff giving us suggestions then writing out the directions. Each suggestion proved solid (we saw Franconia Notch, went shopping and dined at a competitor that they recommended... all were excellent). Our hosts set up a warm and convivial environment that encourages conversation with other guests and made us feel as if we were long time favourite patrons, rather than first time guests... Thank you so much

Rabbit Hill Inn is perfect for a romantic getaway! The Inn is beautiful and spotless. The innkeepers are extraordinary, as if they can read your mind! The food was 5 star quality. Our room was beautiful, clean and spacious. We can't wait to go back!

Despite there being at least 10 other couples (that we saw) at the Inn, it seemed like the staff existed just for us. While I know they showed the same level of courtesy to everyone, they seemed to always be there to make our experience special. It was our 20th wedding anniversary and we were looking for a relaxing vacation without any time schedules where we could just enjoy being together. Rabbit Hill Inn was exactly that and more. The room was quaint and looked even better than on the website. While I enjoy the convenience of cell phones don't expect them to work at this location due to the mountains. There is limited internet connectivity as well, but that turned into more of a blessing than most would realize. Without those distractions, we were able to just spend time together and enjoy ourselves.

My wife and I have return annually to the Rabbit Hill Inn largely due to the family feeling that they provide and the special care that the Inn Keepers, Brian, Leslie and Don take to any special needs of their guests. My wife has several food alergies and, not only to they keep records of them, they plan for them in the menu choices they offer to us in their dining room. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed, service is impecable and the dining experience is always 4-Stars. When we plan our annual vacations, a week at Rabbit Hill is always included. P.S. The puzzles are addicting (we do the most difficult).

You can hardly imagin that there is a perfect place in the world until you get there. Rabbit Hill Inn is the one. Our stay was in February and it was one of the coldest winter we got in years, but once inside, it was heavenly. Brian and Leslie were so kind and gave us room upgrade, so my husband and I could stay in "Music room" that we really wanted to stay. The room was so lovely and welcomed us with the warm fireplace and soothing music when we were led to. Afternoon tea was so delightful with beautiful sweets. Later on when we were playing a puzzle in the lounge, leslie kindly offered us additional tea. Her attentiveness was marvelous. We should have had dinner in their place but we went out, which was a big mistake. The entire place was spotlessly clean and decorated perfectly. My husband and I were pampered in a place so dreamingly perfect. Thank you so very much for the heavenly getaway. (I thought we left a review in this site in February, but noticed we only left one at another site, so I am doing it now.)

I've been to a few bed and breakfasts before and they're all pretty quaint and enjoyable, but walking into Rabbit Hill really is like visiting family that you've never met before. From the second Don met me at the doorway to the moment I stepped into my car, I felt like my every need was taken care of by someone who honestly wanted me to feel my best. I have never felt my stress melt away so quickly; it was honestly like a thick coat of tension just slipped off as I entered my room. Music was playing, the fire was warm, and the cool, Vermont evening breeze was greeting me through the cracked open window. I seriously stood there in my room for about 3 minutes just staring at everything in awe before I finally convinced myself to lay down and enjoy the inviting bed. I cannot say enough about this place. If you need to be pampered and take some time to think about yourself, Rabbit Hill is where you need to go.

We returned to Rabbit Hill Inn after a 35 year lapse as part of travel in the NE. We felt like we were going back home. The hospitality made our brief time at Rabbit Hill so wonderful that we have already shared with many. Our appreciation to Leslie, Brian and staff. Rennie and Ed Scharlau -- Austin, Texas

I absolutely loved it, best anniversary ever. We went here on our 5th anniversary. They had every little detail covered. The special touches were spectacular. We plan to come back here for our 10th anniversary. Everyone should follow us there.

Several years ago a well traveled friend told us that he had stayed in splendid places at more than twice the cost that somehow did not equal the Rabbit Hill Inn. We then started with a three day visit and have returned every year graduating to four days and now to five and love it even more each time. The decor of the Inn is such that it actually embraces the guests and that is augmented by a sincerely warm, as opposed to professionally warm, staff and an unparalleled host and hostess, Brian and Leslie. We know this praise seems extravagant--but if it were anything less it would fall short of the truth.

From the moment we arrived and until our departure, nothing was missed. At every turn a staff member was present to cater to our every need. And it was usually Don! Thanks again for a wonderful experience. The Victoria's

I have stayed here before. This time, I had my little dog and, therefore, had to be in the only 'pet-friendly' room. Nice, but not as nice as the others which are outstanding.

One of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed at. The attention to detail is fantastic. Leslie and Brian and their staff do a great job taking care of everything and making you feel welcome. The restaurant is great. Breakfasts and Dinners were excellent. Beuatiful part of Vermont, but still within reasonable driving distance of Littleton NH and the Mt Washington Valley. Highly recommended.

The Rabbit Hill Inn is amazing. I've wanted a New England vacation for more than 20 years and for our 20th anniversary we finally pulled the trigger. We spent two nights at the Rabbit Hill Inn and it was simply amazing. Not sure if I can put it into words, but the minute we entered the stress simply left our bodies and we relaxed. Totally! The breakfasts and dinners were spectacular and Brian and Leslie, the InnKeepers define hospitality. Truly an amazing experience. No phones, no e-mail (only if you want it) and definitely no television. The North East Kingdom of Vermont was fun to explore - at our own pace. My husband and I have never been so relaxed. On a scale from one to 10 - we give it a 20!!!!!

This is a very special, quiet romantic inn. The owners and staff are welcoming and caring. Listed as one of the 100 places to stay before you die - how true! We just can't say enough in praise.

This was our second trip to Rabbit Hill and again we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The accomodations are spectacular, the service is impeccible, and the experience is unsurpassed. We've stayed at several B&Bs but this one is truly in a league of its own. We highly recommend trying this one out...you won't be disappointed.

It did not take us a long to realize that we found "our place" at the Rabbit Hill Inn. It was absolutely amazing, the staff was incredible. They truly make every aspect of your stay amazing and make you feel like you are their top priorty. From romance to adventure to just taking your mind off of everything you left back at home, this place makes it memorable. The rooms are amazing, clean, romantic, cozy. The food is incredible. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and truly make you feel special. We cannot wait to come back.

Over a period of twenty five years I have visited Rabbit Hill Inn about thirty times. It is like no other place to relax, dine, find Romance and have fun. Without a doubt my very favorite place to be.

We just did a weekend snowmobile package with friends from Connecticut. Both couples were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversaries. (Thank you Thank you) My friend Paul and I have stayed in many 5 star hotels all over the world during our business careers and we both agreed that we have never come across a spot with better service, better staff or better beds. (We asked Leslie for the name of the mattress as we wanted to rush home and buy one.) They are that nice! And then there is the food! ....... Best way to deal with the food quality would be for me to say this ..... "Rabbit Hill Inn is worth visiting for the spectacular food alone!!" I sit here drooling remembering the salad with emulsifies parmasan cheese (don't ask .... just order it!!. The short rib beef dinner was so nice I chatted with the chef to pick his brain thinking I would tackle it at home. The breakfast backing goods are outstanding as well. RHI is a quiet, warm, beautiful Inn with Innkeepers and staff that bend over backwards for every simple request. Leslie, Brian, Don, Amy et al ..... We thank you for a spectacular weekend and look forward to our next visit. Maybe a golf thing in the summer?? I HIGHLY recommend this facility ...... but ONLY if you are looking for one of the finest B and B in North America. Cheers Fred Drewry Toronto Ontario Canada

We went to the Rabbit Hill Inn for our 40th anniversary and it exceeded our expectations on all counts. The staff and the inn keepers all tried to make us feel at home. It was a wonderful experience. We would recommend this inn to anybody.
5 on March 09, 2011
This place is absolutely wonderful. Brian & Leslie are superb Innkeepers, and my husband & I truly felt at home! We met instant relaxation from our hurried lives when walking in to calming music and such a beautiful environment. My husband is always worrying about what's coming next in his schedule/life, and I was blown away when we got home and were just spending time together...I asked him what he wanted for dinner and he responded "I don't really care! I just want to be with you!" Even on our honeymoon, he'd never really took the time to just relax and not think about what's coming next! Thank you Rabbit Hill Inn for providing us with such a beautiful weekend and way to be 100% relaxed! (Getting back to reality isn't fun - but, now we know how to take time out to just spend together!)

This was our second time staying with Brian and Leslie and like the first, they did not disappoint. The entire staff is focused on the guests and making sure their stay is one they will not forget. The food is outstanding-the breakfasts by the fireplace are to die for. Their knowledge of the area is invaluable-Leslie sent us snowshoeing a short distance away off the beaten path where we ran into few others (during a holiday weekend). I don't think Don ever goes home-his smiling face is always present and ready to help. If you are visiting that part of New England, you have to stay here. Leo Vannoni

Our third visit in 18 months. No TVs, no room phones, just a gas fireplace to watch while listening to relaxing CDs. Clean beyond imagination, and comfortable. Leslie and Brian, and the whole staff are welcoming and attentive. You can't spend a night here and not want to come back over and over again.

The staff and the Inn truly surpassed our expectations. Having no TV is a wonderful idea. The dining experience is top notch. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had all that we needed. It was a wonderful three days - and we hope to return in the future. I would not hesitate to recommend the Rabbit Hill Inn to anyone.

Love the Rabbit Hill Inn. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and quiet. The views are fantastic. The service is the best we have ever experienced. Everyone is friendly. The food is outstanding. We look at other places and keep going back to the Bunny. When you put it all together, it is a real value for this high quality B&B.

While searching for a place to spend a romantic getaway, I came across the Rabbit Hill Inn. Everything promised on their website held true in person. The Innkeepers and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Their attention to detail was unsurpassed. The puzzles, although tricky, were a fun way to pass the time! The food was DELICIOUS! We loved our room and the nightly turndown service complete with candles lit, fireplace roaring, romantic music playing and a present each night. We were thoroughly relaxed by the end of our stay.

Brian and Leslie Mulcahy are "Innkeepers Extraordinaire." Their geniality, attention to service and detail are far above any that we have experienced. They operate their inn with the precision of a Swiss clock. Their assistance in making arrangements for activities and suggestions and guidance is also immeasurable. We look forward to another stay at the very charming and very comfortable Rabbit Hill Inn.

We had a wonderful 4-night stay at Rabbit Hill Inn. The room/suite was well appointed and nicely decorated, including high-quality linens/bedding, comfortable bed, and a quality, updated bath. The inn included several public room that were frequented by all of the guests. Stave puzzles were very popular! Afternoon tea was very nice. Breakfast (included) was the best that we've ever seen - creative, delicious choices every morning. The optional evening dinner was very good, too. The staff, including the innkeepers Leslie & Brian, were extremely attentive, very helpful, and did everything possible to ensure a great stay.

My husband and I are heading up next week for our 32nd stay in 15 years. Our 15th Valentine's Day. You don't do that unless it is that wonderful every time. Brian and Leslie and the staff go above and beyond. You may think it is pricey, but try it first, you will come back again and again. You feel like family. The accomodations are the best there are. The place is luxuious, spotless and better than any other, any where. M&MJ Columbia CT

Brian and Leslie Mulcahy are the most gracious hosts and their gorgeous inn is the best I've ever stayed in. The Stave puzzles are addicting and relaxing and the Snooty Fox Pub is a cozy spot for a drink before dinner, more puzzling, or a quick game (they have lots). I would recommend this inn without a doubt. In fact, as I visit other inns around the country, my gold standard for comparison is the Rabbit Hill Inn, and so far no other inn has been able to match it.
4.2 on January 30, 2011
I loved the little details that the Inn did, right down to the re-arranging the bunny family on our bed each day, and lighting the candles in our room. We stayed in the Samuel Hodby suite and it was cozy, romantic and quiet. We both enjoyed our breakfast each day.
5 on January 29, 2011
Once you have ventured to The Rabbit Hill Inn there is no turning back; the bar has been set too high and any B&B experience from this day forward will never match up to the time you have spent here. Whether it is your first time or your twenty-fifth, you will be greeted like family and when you leave you will be making plans to return. In the room diaries, you will see a common thread, and that would be the innkeeper's "attention to detail". Definitely choose a room with a with a fireplace and if your budget allows, go for the luxury rooms having a whirlpool tub. All of the rooms are charming and we've noted that folks differ on their own personal favorites. Don't miss Chef Mathew's dining artistry; makes our mouths water to remember the meals we enjoyed during our recent visit. The vast collection of Stave puzzles fast become an addiction, so you may find yourselves burning the midnight oil as you hover over one of these beautifully carved wooden creations. So, if you are wanting to spend a weekend with friends, or seeking the ideal romantic escape that will melt your lover's heart...this is the place! Randy & Dodie Cameron

Rabbit Hill Inn is absolutely the best inn we have ever visited. In fact, my husband and I don't even bother with other inns at this point; we simply go to RBI twice a year and nowhere else. Brian and Leslie are wonderful and do everything they can to make our visits as pampered and restful as they can possibly be. WE LOVE IT!

We just returned from our 19th annual weekend at the Rabbit Hill Inn. We travel all over the world, and this is by far our favorite inn/hotel. Brian and Leslie are masters of the art of making guests feel welcome into their "home" and feel pampered. The food is first class and plentiful. The rooms are expertly decorated, each with a different, distinctive feel (We've stayed in at least 7 different rooms. Our favorite is the Jonathan Cummings.) Whether you enjoy socializing in the Snooty Fox pub, doing a puzzle in the sitting room by the roaring fire, or relaxing in the hydro-massage tub in your room, this is certainly an oasis for forgetting all the stress of the "real world."

As one of the chosen destinations in the popular book, “1,000 Places to See Before You Die,” winding down is the name of the game at the Rabbit Hill Inn, where luxury meets downtime and old-fashioned romance, if that’s what you want. And the tap water is spring water. Whether solo or as a couple, a weekend spent in this Northern Vermont hideaway is just what the doctor ordered for many, including the Innkeepers, Leslie and Brian Mulcahy. Within Rabbit Hill Inn's 19 rooms -- one with a hidden door, many offer updated amenities such as jacuzzi’s and gas fireplaces. The Music Room, which is where my husband and I stayed, has a pump organ which was once part of the church across the way, a gas fireplace, four-poster bed with crocheted canopy, and several designer details that sing music – a mini-harp and artwork in the same theme. Yes, the service is impeccable, with friendly faces greeting you every step inside. Yes, the menu in the dining room has consistenly earned four-diamonds and yes, the rooms are cleaned as if newly renovated. But th real feel of the deal at Rabbit Hill Inn is in the Federal Parlor that connects to the lounge (that was once a dance floor), where you’ll find smal tables to put together puzzles galore to pass the time without much effort. And on Saturdays from 2-4:30 p.m., this area is where you'll want to be. Sometimes venison stew is served, but this time we enjoyed seafood chowder, fresh buns and vanilla tea. The chowder was kept warm in a cast iron pot that hung on an iron rod connected in the wood fireplace. Cozy, charming, cast back in time, we relaxed for tea-time five hours after a hearty breakfast at Rabbit Hill Inn, and a morning spent driving to nearby attractions, such as Goodrich’s Maple Farm and Cabot Creamery.

We have been blessed to spend our last three anniversaries at the Rabbit Hill Inn. Every time we go we are relaxed and refreshed within minutes of our arrival. All year we look forward to returning and we book our stay for the following year before we leave. The food is excellent and the history of the Inn is interesting and adds to the charm and feeling that you are staying someplace really special.

We try to stay in IV and V star INNS whenever we travel and have found many very fine properties, but none beat this one in luxury and quality. This INN will meet and exceed the expectations of most guests. The rooms are beautifully furnished and comfortable: the common areas are for relaxing:and the restaurant is fine dining. The owners and staff are gracious, friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend this beautiful luxurious INN.

"COMING HOME" is what we experience every time we stay at Rabbit Hill Inn. We return every Thanksgiving for a wonderful holiday celebration. The greeting and follow up service extended by Brian, Leslie, and Don is beyond words. They do make you feel more than welcome, they make you feel like family. The staff, from the chef down to the chambermaids, are friendly and always willing to help in whatever way they can. Nothing is too much trouble or bother. The dining room is outstanding thanks to Matthew, the head chef. His menu choices are traditional, exciting, innovative and all excellently prepared and presented. There is always a surprise "course"!! The breakfasts are scrumptious and prepared to order, if you wish. Literally, one could not ask for anything more. This is the standard by which all other inns and B&Bs should be judged. Thank you Rabbit Hill Inn for an excellent job!! Ron and Fran Belfast, Maine

Rabbit Hill is by far the finest Inn we have ever visited! In fact, we keep returning. We travel internationally and no place we have ever visited has the welcoming feel and the fabulous food that we experience every time we visit. There is a reason is it one of the 100 top inns in the country...It's not about elegance, it's about excellence and humanity!

I had no idea how wonderful , and gracious this inn was. And the food! The food!

We stayed at the inn in the spring, and it rained the entire time we were there! But the warmth of all at the inn made us feel like family. Brian and Leslie are exceptional inn keepers. Their wooden puzzles are habit forming. Even though it rained we had a great vacation.

You'll be pampered, appreciated, respected, and most of all, amazed. 3rd Trip...consistently exceeds all expectations. We are a long-married couple who wanted to have a ride in the fall countryside of Vermont and an overnight stay at a B&B. Our experience at Rabbit Hill exceeded our expectations from the moment of arrival to our departure. Included in this appraisal is the room, the dinner and breakfast dining and the ambiance. Of note is that many of the fellow guests seemed to return every year.

In this day and age of concerns, deadlines, what will happen next, it was a pleasure to be able to escape...at least for a few days. Rabbit Hill Inn has the luxury and solitude anyone would want. Yet the amenities, breakfast and dinner, full bar service, lots of entertainment (without TV) are all in-house so you never have to leave until you depart. Yet who would not want to get out for walks, hikes and car trips to explore the great Northeast Kingdom. If you just have to go into a town just to make sure humanity is still around, you are only a few short miles to 2 great towns for shopping, restaurants and many other activities. Now I have not even talked about skiing in winter or mountain biking during the summer...just not enough room. A wonderful destination Inn that provides everything

My wife and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary by traveling through New England, staying one night at special B&Bs along the way. The highlight of our trip was our night at the Rabbit Hill Inn. The reviews of RHI by other travelers were spot on. We cannot present enough accolades for the hospitality of Brian and Leslie. From their extremely well stocked travel brochure closet, to the Vermont made Stave puzzles in the taproom, to the sachets on the door to use as a "Do Not Disturb" notice, to the comfortable Robe Works bathrobes, they clearly paid attention to the smallest detail. Meals were also crafted, prepared and presented with similar care. If our travels take us back to northern Vermont, we would go out of our way to return to the Rabbit Hill Inn.

A warm and inviting Inn where every need is taken care of in an unobtrusive manner. The staff is warm and friendly and always there to take care of you. Spend time in the common rooms to enjoy a drink, read, DO A PUZZLE - you'll be hooked. Up for an adventure, head to Alpine Adventures for some zip lining through the trees - great fun!

My husband and I just celebrated our first anniversary at the Rabbit Hill Inn, and we were so glad that we went here. We still haven't had our honeymoon, and we were looking for this trip to be very special for both of us. Brian, Leslie, and all of the staff have truly thought of each detail. We stayed in the Turnabout, and honestly the room was far more spacious and beautiful than the pictures even begin to show. Don brought us around the room and showed us each of the features and ammenities, and was so accomodating with helping us to settle in. Prior to our stay I did let the staff know of a food allergy that my husband has, and everyone was so wonderful in making sure that they were able to offer selections for him. I truly cannot say enough good things about this place. My husband and I feel like we were truly spoiled the entire weekend, and we know that going forward other B&Bs will have a difficult time measuring up!

The Rabbit Hill Inn is unsurpassed and unequalled. Friendly guests, and staff, owners who feel like friends, great chef even when Brian and Leslie have to find a new one (evey few years they always find a great chef. We've been visiting the Rabbit Hill Inn regularly for many years, and have already made our reservations for the next two years. Brian and Leslie maintain a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the food is exceptional, the Stave puzzles are a challenging pastime, the rooms are romantic and comfortable -- it's a place that makes you reach for the superlatives, because it's just that good. We've stayed in quite a few inns over the years, and the Rabbit Hill Inn has remained in our 'best ever' spot for more than a decade.

Even though we were only able to stay at RHI for only one night, it was well worth it. It was very charming and homey. The staff was very friendly and answered any questions we had about dining, and gave us plenty of pamphlets for things to do locally. Our room was gorgeous and spacious too!! We would recommend to anyone looking to investigate the Northeast Kingdom to stay here.

We recently stayed at the Rabbit Hill Inn , it came at a perfect moment as we had not made any prior dining or lodging arrangements - by design - and we turned a corner and there it was.... just for us. That is how welcome we immediately felt; Brian and Leslie were most gracious and welcomed us into their Inn with all the confidence that our stay would not want for anything, and they were right. We ate a gourmet meal in the evening, breakfast was replete with many options and all cooked perfectly to order.... a most enjoyable stay.

My husband and I recently spent 4 days & 3 nights at the Rabbit Hill Inn for our honeymoon. Our room "Molly's Promise" was nothing short of a dream. Large, comfortable bed, gas logs by the bed, large whirlpool tub and nightly turn down service. Every staff member that we encountered was pleasant and eager to meet our needs. The food (dinner and breakfast) was perfect. We will definitely be staying again. Thanks Brian and Leslie!

Super place to stay in the Northeast Kingdom.

We spent three nights at Rabbit Hill and have found our perfect getaway spot. The inn is gorgeous, the rooms comfortable and romantic, the service and food fantastic, the setting rural and beautiful. This is the place to get away from it all and still be treated by inn-keeping professionals who understand the finer things in life. We'll return many times.

My husband and I spent a week here for our honeymoon and enjoyed every second of it. I travel a lot for work and have stayed at some very nice places, but the customer service at the Rabbit Hill is unmatched! The Innkeepers, Brian and Leslie, and Don on their support staff, genuinely care about your experience there and will do their best to make sure you have a great time. My husband and I wanted to really explore the area and do some hiking and kayaking while there, and Brian/Leslie/Don recommended the perfect itinerary for our week. The Inn itself is beautiful and the rooms charming. My husband is a musician and loved the functioning antique organ in the Music Room. We especially loved the downstairs pub - it is the perfect setting to simply relax, we could have sat there for hours. We also loved walking the paths along the Inn's property - so beautiful. The area around the Inn has much to offer - stunning beauty and endless outdoor activities, not to mention cute towns with restaurants and antique shops. But if you prefer to just relax and stay inside, the Inn is perfect for that too! And as for the food - delicious!! The breakfasts are amazing and we highly recommend having dinner there as well. Thanks again to Brian, Leslie, and Don for helping make our honeymoon so wonderful - we felt like we were saying goodbye to family when we left. We will definitely be back!

We have been vacationing at Rabbit Hill Inn for close to 20 years and it is our favorite place to be.... It gets better and better with each year. The owners, Brian and Leslie, and all of the staff are the most attentive without ever being intrusive. They are so warm and inviting, hospitality abounds; each time you return they welcome you home! It's the most romantic inn - Each room is more beautiful than the next with some having two person whirlpool tubs and fireplaces. The beds are plush and comfortable and nightly turndown service is the epitome of romance. The dining experience (including a candlelit breakfast!)is so romantic and the food is phenomenal - and if you have any dietary considerations, they handle them graciously and respectfully. You will find no better than Rabbit Hill Inn; that's why we as well as most of their guests keep coming back year after year, and book their return visits over a year in advance.

From the moment we entered the Rabbit Hill Inn we were welcomed and invited by each and every staff member. Everyone was more than willing to assist us and was amazingly friendly. The Jonathan Cummings Suite was like a more elegant and romantic home-away-from-home. The bed was plush, the complimentary champagne and chocolate truffles were indulgent, and the jacuzzi tub and private porch allowed for intimate moments. The food at the Inn was some of the best I've ever had the opportunity to indulge in. I could not say anything negative about my stay at the Rabbit Hill Inn, except that I could not stay forever--nonetheless, I will surely return again sometime in the (near) future.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the inn for our thirty-seventh anniversary and thorougly enjoyed the experience. We were greeted by Don, accompanied to our room in the Tavern building, adjacent to the main building, and settled into our charming, immaculately clean room. Later, we enjoyed a beautifully prepared dinner in the inn's dining-room, after wrhich we retired to the commons room, and with a post-prandial libation from the bar in hand, tackled one of the dozens of Stave jigsaw puzzles, completing it with the last sip of single malt. It is no surprise that this inn is so highly rated. Already I am anticipating our thirty-eighth anniversary at this excellent retreat. Brian, Leslie, and their entire staff deserve immense credit for their warm hospitality and superior service. Mary and Mark Satterthwaite

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed as if we were the most important people at the inn. We soon saw all guests are treated with the same respect and care. For those who want alone time, Leslie and Brian, the innkeepers, would make sure those guests were left alone except to make sure they had whatever they needed. And, those who needed more attention, got it. The rooms were perfect, and we were made to feel at home. There is no detail ignored. And, if the hospitality weren't enough, the food was amazing. I wish I could give a more balanced review, but our experience at The Rabbit Hill Inn made it hard to match elsewhere.

We came to Rabbit Hill Inn to celebrate our anniversary, and have some quality time together as a couple. The staff were so kind and inviting. The room was comfortable and elegant. The food was devine. The location was gorgeous. Would do it again in a heartbeat!

The Rabbit Hill Inn is instantly welcoming. Brian and Leslie are charming as is their staff. Our room had been newly renovated and was extremely comfortable. Their chef's creativity was evident in the use of local, farm-fresh ingredients at both breakfast and dinner service. Little touches like a hand made keepsake and rabbit shaped maple candies added to the charm.

We drove up to VT from NJ for a getaway and to see the nearby sights. We stayed in the Samuel Hodby suite, which is located in the 1795 house separate from the main house, which provided for some wonderful privacy. The entire Inn is absolutely spotless, and our suite was no exception. The staff and hosts were wonderful with helping us to decide on a dinner location, ideas for where to visit, or a lovely cup of cocoa while we puzzled away on one of their Stave puzzles. The breakfast was very good, and more than readied us for a drive around to the nearby maple farms, Ben & Jerry's factory, Cabot factory, and other fun places. We only ate dinner at the restaurant one night, and like another reviewer had said, we felt they were overrated, and that some of the food was under-seasoned, and relatively bland. They might want to back off on the offal menu items a little and make sure that they prepare the regular menu items properly. In addition, my husband doesn't consume alcohol, and there weren't many menu items that didn't contain alcohol, limiting his choices. The restaurant aside, the Inn was a wonderful place to stay, and we look forward to the chance to stay there again in the future.

Pleasant formality. Exceptional warmth and coziness. The Innkeepers (Brian and Leslie) and staff are wonderful. We had a great feeling when we arrived - the feeling grew stronger as our stay progressed. (Sorry if I sound like a tour book!) The breakfast is excellent. Do not miss the restaurant. Superb! I am a tough grader. The Rabbit Hill Inn exceeds expectations.

Let's see...Nirvana, yep, that's about it..and from a Texan! If you had to go for one night's stay, the RHI is it! The best innkeepers, rooms, small town setting, kindness, humor...they DO IT ALL! Brian, Leslie and staff have created perfection...in three words...YOU ARE FAMILY! Take it from a world traveler...STAY HERE...we'll be back Sept 2011 to see the leaves change...and if this doesn't convince you...call the RHI and speak with Leslie...it's like talking with family!!!

Service, food and accommodations were excellent! The Innkeepers were very gracious and generous with their time.

We were late arriving and did not call ahead. However, we were disappointed that we could not eat in the dining room and had to go ten miles away for a meal. We thought there should be room for Inn Guests at all times. None of the "ads" that we read said a reservation was needed. Breakfast was awesome and we would have really enjoyed the opportunity to eat dinner there. We will return again and have our reservation for dinner confirmed.

After reading many reviews and perusing lots of pictures, we still did not expect Rabbit Hill Inn to fully live up to the glowing descriptions that its guests put forth. It wouldn't have mattered. Even if the Inn was half as good as people describe, it still would have been fabulous. We needn't have worried. Rabbit Hill Inn was every bit as charming, relaxing and welcoming as its former guests have iterated time and again. My husband and I seldom return to the same place twice (there are so many fabulous places to visit), but we are hoping to make the Rabbit Hill Inn an annual pilgrimage. That, more than anything else I could say, will tell you the level to which we enjoyed our weekend getaway.
5 on July 04, 2010
My wife and I stayed at the Rabbit Hill Inn for our 25th anniversary. We have stayed there on 5 other occasions and feel drawn to come back each time. We like the B&B experience and have stayed at other establishments. However, there is no other like the Rabbit Hill. The staff if courteous and attentive, the rooms charming and the food exquisite. Brian and Leslie have created a safe harbor from the hustle and bustle of every day life. If you want somewhere quiet to recharge your batteries, this is it.

Think Pepsi Cola's just for kids? Try the appetizer made with Pepsi. Think the breakfast of champions is just for athletes? Good morning and welcome to the Rabbit Hill Inn. Think you're special? They do at the Rabbit Hill Inn and make sure they let you know it. Think an outside veranda to your room is luxurious? Put the flower and herb garden below it and now you know what it's like to have the loft at the Inn. Think a jacuzzi is romantic? Add candles, a toy boat and a rubber rabbit and feel the tension ooze from your tired muscles. Think Newhart was the real show about inns in Vermont? Think again. This is the real McCoy. We live less than 20 minutes from the Inn and this was the perfect getaway. Great sleep, great food, great ambiance. Throw in lemonade and sweet pastries in the afternoon with a staff that is second to none. This would have been a heavenly deal at twice the cost.

We traveled to our granddaughter's graduation and intentionally booked at Rabbit Hill even though we had to drive 45 mins from the Inn to all activites. It was wonderful to have a quiet respite at the end of a busy day. The Innkeepers are very gracious and their staff is excellent. The breakfast that they serve is in the top 3 of all the places we have stayed. Both cleanliness and attention to detail were outstanding. We will definitely return and have already recommended the Inn to friends.

Rabbit Hill is the ultimate inn experience. There is no one feature that sets Rabbit Hill Inn apart. Rather, it is their unique combination of elegance, comfort, genuine hospitality, wonderful food, and a picturesque location that make it the perfect place to visit for a relaxing getaway. The innkeepers, Brian and Leslie, are the best hosts that we have ever encountered. This is an experience that you will never forget. One stay left us wanting to go back again and again!

This is a great place to getaway from it all. The staff creates a welcoming atmosphere that includes a great sense of humor; you feel like you are among friends, and creates warm interaction with other guests. No TV, but there is wireless internet in the lounge -- if you really need it. The jigsaw puzzles are much more challenging and entertaining. Breakfast is top notch and creative. You will want to have at least one dinner while there. Your biggest problem will be choosing which entree from the menu.

This was our third time at the Rabbit Hill Inn. It was to long between our visits. This is one of our favorite Inns. We will definitely go back -- much sooner.
5 on June 13, 2010
This inn is our favorite place on earth. We have been here 6 times in 10 years! They always make you feel at home, the food is outstanding, from the candlelit breakfast to the afternoon tea and pastries and then the wonderful never ending romantic dinner. After dinner you retire to your room that has been attended to while you were at dinner. The bed turned down, soft music playing and candles burning and a fire in the fireplace set just the right mood. Every time we come here it seems like the first time. The beds are like sleeping in a cloud. The staff is wonderful always calling you by name. There is always something to do, the Stave puzzles are a favorite of ours and we just love talking with all the other guests that come to The Rabbit Hill Inn. -Tim & Christie Bartlett, IL

The room was extremely comfortable and well furnished. The food was exceptional - emphasis on local food. The hospitality was superb. It was the nicest, most romantic weekend!!
5 on May 20, 2010
A weekend and cooking class at Rabbit Hill Inn was a 40th anniversary present from our sons and their wives. The entire weekend was over-the-top posh! The cooking class was not what we'd expected - it was better. This was not a "how to," or even an "approach to cooking" program, it was akin to a philosophy class. We haven't figured out how chef Matt does all the magic in the kitchen during the working day. Since returning to the real world two days ago, both of us have looked at food and flavors and recipes differently. We've been having the times of our lives trying subtle things with spices and flavors. Brian and Leslie seem to be quietly making the system work 26 hours a day. The setting is superb, the available activities within just a few miles shows tremendous diversity. We have lived in Europe, traveled all over the world, led groups on education programs on four continents; never have we been treated as well or made to feel more at home than at RHI - less than an hour from our own home in Vermont's green mountains. we just wanted a comfortable place to stay when travelling from Boston to Montreal and were totally delighted with everything at the Rabbit Hill Inn. We will definitely stay there again, but for more than one night!!

After a very long and arduous 6 months, my husband and I were able to escape from it all to our favorite Inn. It is the place to go to when you want and need to get away from the world and it's craziness. The pace is as you want it, whether enjoying a drink in the pub and catching up with others on their day, or doing a puzzle with a glass of wine or cocoa...the meals are outrageous...the breakfasts are inspirational. The local area is full of fun activities, and the Inn is welcoming enough to enjoy a book for hours...it is the best place we have been to, the Innkeepers, Brian and Leslie are fantastic hosts, catering to your every whim. I cannot recommend Rabbit Hill Inn more highly. Once you go, you'll be looking at when you can go again...i guarantee it.

I was frankly skeptical of the 'relentlessly' positive reviews of Rabbit Hill. How could so many people be so happy? I think you should add 'Spirit' to your checklist. Because, while all the attributes are indeed outstanding...it is the Spirit of Rabbit Hill that has filled the guest-books with years of gratitude. It is a quiet place for couples, of any age, to refresh or celebrate themselves, and feel absolutely 'cared-for'. And thank you RH for the things you DON'T have: No TV, no high tech,...and sweetly weak cell signals. You're the best! Wendie, Boston

It was another superb experience staying at Rabbit Hill Inn. It truly is a relaxing time that just brings out the best of romance. It just doesn't get any better than this! A must have is to experience a stave puzzle, you won't stop until you are finished...even if it takes you into the wee hours! Brian, Leslie, Don and the staff really make you feel welcome and very special! We have already booked our next anniversary night at the INN.

We visited the Rabbit Hill Inn in March. There was some snow still on the ground, but it was fairly warm. We stayed in the "Music Room" which was spacious and romantic. The staff were always helpful with suggestions for things to do, places to eat. We had purchased the snowmobile package and all the arrangements were made for us, all we needed to do was show up. Included was breakfast which was amazing, and one dinner which was also incredible. The chef certainly challenges you to try new things, and we were not disappointed. It's the best B&B experience we have had. Doug and Mary

800 kms. (500 miles) door to door - Toronto to "Heaven On Earth"! We drove there on the recommendation of two very picky friends, and they were right on. From the warm greeting upon our arrival to the hug from Leslie upon our departure, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Rabbit Hill Inn. How could one not! Lovely surroundings, delicious food, excellent service, Stave puzzles...and peace and quiet all conspired to make us promise to make the drive again in the future to Lower Waterford, Vermont. We can't wait!

We arrived on a Thursday afternoon for a stay until Sunday. When we walked in, it was as if we were at a friend's home. From the moment we arrived until we left, we were treated like very good friends. The owners, the staff, the food, the amenities, the surroundings. Everything was beautiful. The room was fantastic and so comfortable. We cannot wait to go back.

Rabbit Hill Inn is our favorite Inn in the Northeast. We find ourselves comparing anywhere else we visit to this particular inn. It's a wonderful haven for my husband and I. We leave the world behind and spend every President's Day weekend at the Inn (this was our 17th year!) Brian and Leslie, the Innkeepers, make you feel special the minute you walk through the door. The themed suites with the jacuzzis are great; the soothing music, the gas fireplace and the softly glowing candles give a beautiful ambiance to the suite. The food is divine, the Snooty Fox Pub is great fun, and the puzzles are addicting! We have met many friends at the Inn over the years, and many return to visit on the same weekend. While visiting you can relax, get an in-room massage, take a nap or go for a walk. For the more adventurous you can ski, drive a dogsled, snow mobile, take a sleigh ride, go sledding, snow shoeing or cross country skiing. You can visit a maple sugar farm, the Cabot Cheese Factory, or browse through the Littleton bookstore. We return to the Inn for afternoon tea or the fireside cookery. We always look forward to our visit to Rabbit Hill Inn, and when we finally have to leave we feel rested and ready to face the world again!

We have been guests at RHI for a number of years and each time we return to visit we truly feel as though we are returning home! It's like visiting a favorite relative - catching up on everyone's life and being tucked away in our cozy, sun filled room is always magical! Can't get enough of the Stave puzzling especially when "the weather outside is frightful, and the fire is sooo delightful" - and once again, Chef Matthew has created some very outstanding and interesting dishes - veal cheeks-yum, wonder what's next!

We returned to the Rabbit Hill Inn after 12 years and found it just as special and welcoming as we had remembered. Brian and Leslie are doing a fabulous job with the ambiance, friendly atmosphere, and welcoming touches. Our only negative . . . we found the dinner menu a bit limited for folks staying more than 2 nights. We still recommend this inn as our "favorite". Try it . . . you will like it.

Guests at Rabbit Hill Inn since 1993, New Year's would not be complete without our yearly visit! The inn is impeccably managed by Brian and Leslie Mulcahy who are devoted to making their guests feel welcome, pampered, and treated like VIPs. The rooms are beautifully appointed and very comfortable. Our room contained a large soaking tub that faced the fireplace...what a great treat on a snowy winter night. The food is outstanding and beautifully served...a four star dining experience that we look forward to each year. The Snooty Fox Pub is the perfect place for visiting with the other guests or simply enjoying a drink and working on the famous Stave puzzles. While we have not visited RHI other than at New Year's, this inn is truly an inn to experience in any season! Writing this review is making me homesick for our next visit to the sleepy little village in Lower Waterford! Brian and Leslie deserve many accolades for their dedication to making this beautiful 200 year old inn one of the best experiences any could ever imagine. Only 10 more months and we will be "home" again! Jim and Ann, Kansas City

This is the most romantic place we have ever been. The service was impeccable. The innkeepers Leslie and Brian were warm and inviting and were willing do anything within their power to make your stay memorable. The host Don's charm made our stay so enjoyable. The food is fantastic, if a little daring. Make sure you eat in the dining room at least once during your stay. It's expensive, but worth every penny. We are already planning when we'll be able to go back!

There is no question about it: the Rabbit Hill Inn is one of the best inns in New England. Beautiful rooms, cozy common spaces, wonderful food, lovely grounds. The real draws, however, are the owners. Warm, welcoming and attentive to every detail, they are available but never intrusive. Absolutely one of the best romantic weekends we have ever enjoyed.

This is a fabulous bed and breakfast. Brian and Leslie are so friendly and inviting. The food is fabulous, in room massages relaxing, and the atmosphere so romantic. We are looking to book our next stay soon!

We have visited the Rabbit Hill Inn each year for the past 9 or 10 for "get away from it all vacations". It is the perfect place to escape our very busy schedules at home, to relax and recharge. The inn keepers and staff are the best in terms of hospitality and service. Dinners and breakfasts in the inn's dining room are top quality. Food and service are both great. The rooms and common areas are warm (in atmosphere - as well as temperature) and charming. Totally recommend the RHI for a relaxing weekend or vacation.

We are have stayed at Rabbit Hill Inn several times and have always enjoyed our visit. Brian and Leslie and their entire staff are so friendly and helpful, the Inn is beautiful, immaculate and just so welcoming. The food is outstanding and we are looking forward to our next visit.

The Rabbit Hill Inn is an outstanding B&B and we are telling everyone to go there for their next vacation destination as they will not be disappointed. The entire staff goes out of their way to make your stay a relaxing and enjoyable one. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with them and were truly spoiled by them all. We have been on numerous cruises and visited other countries in our travels and none were more relaxing and romantic than this one. We plan to visit at least once a year to our new "home" and friends at RHI.

Every aspect of RHI is perfection from the moment that you step into the front door until your departure. Brian and Leslie have a magical way of making you forget where you came from or what has recently been on your mind. Truly a special place. My wife and I look forward to going back as soon as we leave. We've made a tradition of going back every fall. We don't even consider staying anywhere else.

During our most recent trip to New England, October 3-11, 2009, my wife and I were especially impressed with the owners/innkeepers of the Rabbit Hill Inn, Brian and Leslie Mulcahy. As we enjoyed our third visit to this delightful inn in Vermont, they and their entire staff had a special combination of professionalism and warmth which made us and other guests feel welcomed and right at home. We were particularly pleased with the way in which Leslie interacted with the guests, taking a special interest in each of us and desiring to meet our needs graciously and professionally.

This was the fifth time we stayed at the Rabbit Hill Inn and as usual, we were not disappointed! The food is incredible, the rooms are perfection, Brian and Leslie are wonderful innkeepers and of course, the Stave puzzles are addicting!

The Rabbit Hill Inn is a wonderful experience. All of the little extras make you feel right at home. We were a little concerned initially about no contact with the outside world in the way of internet access, but we adapted to it quickly and didn't really miss it at all! Guess we weren't as addicted as we thought we were! We highly recommend this establishment and Brian and Leslie are wonderful, along with Don and everyone else!

is at Rabbit Hill Inn. We have been going for years and each time we become closer. The Inn and rooms are lovely.... set up for comfort, retreat and romance. You feel pampered. Brian and Leslie take care of you but you never feel hovered over. This place is magical, from its five star restaurant to beds in which we sleep better in than any where else in the world. Go. Treat yourselves and be treated like precious souls.

From the first welcome from the innkeepers Brian, Leslie and Don to the wave as you leave everything is taken care of. The rooms are emaculate and welcoming. Each room has a CD player with soft romantic music and luxurious furnshings. The dining is five star with tempting choices for any appetite. The breakfast was to die for with raspbery bread pudding or eggs benedict with basil cream. This was on top of fresh squeezed juice, fruits, coffee cakes, homemade granola and yogurt. This was our seventh visit and we will be back again.

Rabbit Hill Inn is, without a doubt, a real treasure. We come here at least twice a year for special occasions (like our anniversary) or just to decompress. It is located in an idyllic little village that no one ever heard of in VT and, frankly, with not a lot to do if you're from the big city or need lots of stimulation. But if you enjoy nature, peace and quiet, listening to music, assembling puzzles, reading, napping, walking, biking, fishing, or just staring at the vistas from the front porch with a cup of tea or a glass of wine, this is your place. Amazing food. Personal, dedicated service by the innkeepers and staff. We're counting the days until our next escape!

4.4 on August 16, 2009
When we arrived at Rabbit Hill, the Innkeeper told us that we would find that "time slows down here". To our astonishment, we found that to be absolutely true. The pace of life here, right down to the exquisite hand made wooden puzzles, is slow and unhurried, but with incredibly timely service. The room was lovely, and we appreciated that each room is uniquely decorated - nothing cookie-cutter about this place. The innkeepers and all staff we came into contact with were exceedingly gracious, polite, friendly, and welcoming. The chef prepared fabulous meals with interesting taste combinations. We have stayed in plenty of wonderful B&B's, but this is our top pick so far. We will recommend it to discerning friends who seek a haven and rest from the hurried world.

We took the long drive up from New York City and felt stressed from the drive and all the traffic. An incredible thing happened upon arrival, we both felt instantly relaxed. I can't tell you if it was the Vermont air or the peaceful surroundings of the Rabbit Hill itself, but there was an instant effect. The Rabbit Hill is an immaculate, quaint inn with all the amenities you need to unwind. Leslie and Brian are absolutely wonderful hosts. There is nothing that they wouldn't do to make your stay perfect. I felt like we had known each other for years; a sentiment that was shared by other guests as well. Their assistant Don is also great. He has the best dry sense of humor and had us cracking up whenever we spoke. Again, he is a reflection of Brian and Leslie and couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect. We were even successful in having him call my husband by his first name instead of "sir" at the end of the trip. It was a hoot. The food in the restaurant is absolutely delicious; in fact, we ate in the dining room at every opportunity. The breakfasts were so much more amazing and hearty than I ever expected. Not only was it the best breakfast I've ever eaten, but there was so much to choose from that I ate so much there was no room for lunch. That is the way to start the day! Each room is perfectly appointed with all you need. The beds are comfortable, plush and everything is spotlessly clean. It is obvious that a lot of love and attention goes into every aspect of the hotel. They even leave a little bottle of Poopouri in the bathroom. I loved it so much (for my husband) that I bought some to take home. In addition to all of the wonderful things at the hotel, they have a great collection of Stave puzzles (www.stave.com). We are puzzlenuts so this was just the icing on the cake for this weekend. If you want to relax and get away from it all, this is the place for you.

Although we only live a few miles north of the Rabbit Hill Inn, our 24-hour stay there (away from the busyness of raising 2 teens and 9-year-old) was one complete rest, relaxation, and intimacy. Our hosts and staff went out of their way to "make our short escape seem to go a slowly as possible". The Music Room was the perfect setting for us with its sense of seclusion, combined with two full walls of windows, fireplace, piano, antique desk, oil lamps, pair of wingback chairs, and a king bed (complete with turn down service) that you melt into. The only reason that we found it necessary to leave the room for was to eat . . . and the dinner, breakfast, and afternoon pastries are to absolutely die for. My wife and I left the Rabbit Hill physically, mentally, and emotionally refreshed. That, in itself, speaks volumes for what you can expect from a stay (even a short one) at this special place. These days it seems that there fewer and fewer times that one goes away with the feeling that "I really got my monies worth out of that" . . . the Rabbit Hill in IS one of those places, so do not miss out on it!!!

Rabbit Hill is a very special place to stay. The service is both very professional and friendly. The Innkeepers and their staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble for them. We have holidayed in the US around 40 times, yet this is the best place we have stayed at. The food was excellent and the breakfast on the second morning was the best we have ever had. We recommend Rabbit Hill very highly. Hopefully we will return in the not too distant future.

Great atmosphere, service and food! A wonderful romantic stay, fabulous food expertly prepared with local ingredients. So many lovely extra touches - tea offered all afternoon, games and books in a cozy living room, turn down service, etc. Close to many local attractions - hiking, biking, historical venues. A relaxing place to visit!

Everything here is nice, the hosts, the staff, the rooms and the kitchen is top notch. Not often you have a five star breakfast, but here you do every day. We'll be back for more. Oh yes, don't forget a exquisit collection of Stave puzzles to keep you occupied at night or whenever.....

We were extremely impressed with the quality of service we got while at the inn. The room was very quaint. Location and amennities were far better than we could ever imagine. The best things we enjoyed were the company of our good friends the Formicas. They took us there for a surprise weekend. There was only one thing we did not like was having to leave this wonderful inn, and wonderful owners Leslie and Brian. We are planning on making this a yearly trip. See you soon. Sincerely, Debbie and Brian Levesque Wethersfield, Ct.

A total sense of well-being, It is priceless, but what is it? We thought we knew Ere a three day stay At the Rabbi Hill Inn But when we left, We really knew So we have gone back, and back again And will go again And again And again ad infinitum And at each of our stays Upon leaving the Inn We have felt the need To thank the Innkeepers Have you ever done that?

The best part of visiting RHI is that it's as comfortable as home but without any of the daily duties. It's like you're royalty.

Rabbit Hill Inn is a beautiful Inn, lovely themed rooms, with fabulous dining experiences! Brian & Leslie make sure you have everything you need... from in room massages, great puzzles, featured wines and cocktails, and they will guide you to the best local attractions with even a picnic lunch packed especially for you.. Rabbit Hill Inn is a place we try to make a point to visit each and every year! Romantic & Wonderful!

We wanted a romantic place for our 25th wedding anniversary and chose the Rabbit Hill Inn. We were extremely surpised and very pleased with everything. The room was very luxurious, the food wonderful. The staff are extremely helpful and the hosts, Leslie and Brian, were awesome! I can't wait to go again!!

What a great escape from the hustle and bustle of NYC! The innkeepers and staff were lovely and spoiled us rotten. The chef is topnotch and the waitstaff couldn't do enough for us. we'll be back!

We have stayed at the Rabbit Hill and enjoy the location. We attended the food courses and this year's information was "pasta". The get together meal is always uniques and Brian does a fine presentation of accompanying wines for the meal. We had a great time and find the Rabbit Hill relaxing. We recommend the Rabbit Hill as a great "getaway" treat.

Service that is professional, on a first name service, romantic, invisible until you need something, couples-oriented, romantic, great food, clean without being sterile, very knowledgeable about the area, great suggestions about where to go and what to do if you want to anything. Did I mention that the Rabbit Hill Inn is very romantic?

This was our 1st time to stay in a bed and breakfast. I know we are hooked now! The Rabbit Hill Inn was well above our expectations in all categories. It was my wife's brithday and they went out of their way to make her feel special and provided some very nice touches. I highly recommend this Inn. I find it hard that we will find another Inn as special as what we experienced at the Rabbit Hill Inn.

My wife and I truly enjoyed our three nights away. The room, Above the Tavern, was beautiful and spacious. We enjoyed the dinner the first night, but opted for other places to dine out the other two nights. The inn keepers and staff were absolutely wonderful, without being in overwhelming, they met all of our needs, but allowed us to have time to talk and share quite time together. The STAVE puzzles are a highlight. Intricate puzzles, hand crafted, just amazing. We also enjoyed the quite towns around, but truly loved the quite walks across the street and at Kingwoods nearby. We loved our trip, and the inn made it very special.

We returned for our second weekend getaway at Rabbit Hill Inn in February (our first, last summer) and once again, we were treated more than just guests at an inn, but, rather, welcomed to enjoy the beautiful inn as if it were our own! Brian and Leslie are the best innkeepers we have ever met and are the epitome of what it takes to be successful! They pay attention to every single detail, their hospitality beats all, the warmth and friendliness that they exude is contagious! Rooms are beautifully decorated, again, with no detail missed. Candles lit, soft music playing, the turn-down service just sets the mood for more pampering and relaxation. Both breakfast (included) and dinner represent excellence again, this time from the kitchen. Food service is, as everything else, excellent, friendly, professional. Can't say enough good things about this inn. Oh, yes, the Stave puzzles. If you enjoy jigsaw puzzles, you are in heaven; if you're not a fan, you will be! Can't wait for our next visit.
5 on March 04, 2009
We have returned to Rabbit Hill Inn for the past 9 years, ever since we first discovered it. It sets a new standard for romantic and relaxing get-aways, and we never consider going anywhere else. The attention to detail, the exquisite food, and the warmth of the inn keepers make this an exceptional stay in every sense of the word. There's no better place to relax, and feel entirely cared for.
5 on March 04, 2009
The Rabbit Hill Inn is THE place to go to recharge yourself. The rooms are lovely, the Snooty Fox Pub is delightful and the food is fabulous. It is truely a wonderful romatic destination. We shall return!

This was the best place I have ever stayed. The attention to detail is unparreled. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here.

Warm, friendly atmosphere (coupled with great tavern!). Very accomodating staff with personable innkeepers. Their mission: To make your stay as comfortable and as relaxing as possible. Wonderful touches (like lit candles and soft music playing in the room when one retired for the evening). Great skiing as well: 35 minutes to Burke Mountain (to the west) and 35 minutes to Bretton Woods (to the east). The whole experience was top-notch! We would head back without hesitation.

This is our home away from home- relaxed atmosphere, fantastic accomodations, wonderful food, every possible amenity and charming inkeepers. Couldn't find a more perfect spot!

5 on February 27, 2009
I've just returned from a visit to the Rabbit Hill Inn, and I can't wait to tell everyone about it. The food, the ambiance, the incredibly welcoming innkeepers, the romantic guest rooms, the pub, the food, and all those warm fires add up to one exquisite inn. Leslie and Brian are among the most genuinely caring innkeepers any inngoer will ever meet. They put their hearts into guest comfort and it really shows. The guest rooms are fabulous, with plenty of choices (19 in all). I got to see a number of them (love it when the innkeepers keep the doors open so you can see rooms) and they're filled with beautiful furniture, fireplaces, double whirlpool tubs and shower and plenty of little touches too. I loved the hearts door hangers, which meant "do not disturb". Each guest is offered one to take home too. Fine inns are a culmination of all the little details. They've not misssed any at the Rabbit Hill Inn, right down to the bunny-shaped butter patties. This is an inn you won't want to miss.
5 on February 21, 2009
We arrived on a very cold, snow-crusted day and were met warmly by the owners and manager. Everything was just superb; the food, the room, the atmosphere. If you can, visit. You'll not regret a single moment.
4.6 on February 15, 2009
We returned to this marvelous home away from home because truthfully, we haven't found another place that compares favorably. They truly think of every little thing and go above and beyond to make your stay extraordinary and special. Dinner was very good in a calming, candlelit romantic room by the fireplace. It was so lovely to have this leisurely dinner, relax in the pub with an after dinner drink and play some backgammon and then retire to a wonderfully prepared and extra special romantic room . . . more candles, more firelight, champagne and jacuzzi. Just doesn't get much better! Any couple who wants to find a place to reconnect and get away from it all - this is the spot!
4.6 on February 12, 2009
We continue to return to the Rabbit Hill Inn year after year. We have never been disappointed by this wonderfully romantic inn in the Northeast Kingdom. Whenever we walk into the doors, we feel a sense of belonging. The innkeepers, Brian and Leslie, along with their staff attend to all of our needs and then some. Another thing that impresses us about the Inn is seeing many of the same staff members year after year. This, itself, says something about the Rabbit Hill Inn. One of the main reasons we go to the Rabbit Hill Inn is to get away from our hectic, everyday lives. Here we can spend most of our day at the inn visiting with the innkeepers or other guests or doing one of the challenging Stave puzzles. If we choose to venture out, we can have someone at the inn arrange for an adventurous excursion. It's all about what we want to do. Our stomachs are also well taken care of with the full country breakfast, afternoon tea, and three course dinner - all well prepared and expertly served. We have never left feeling unsatisfied by our visit. If there is any disappointment, it is in having to leave.

This was our 2nd trip to Rabbit Hill, so that is clearly a reccomendation! You enter Rabbit Hill and you immediately begin to relax. Owner Brian and Leslie are so welcoming and attentive to every detail. The meals are some of the best I have ever had. And if you have time, sit down and work one of their Stave wooden puzzles. You will be hooked! We plan to return again and again.

The Inn Keepers and staff at the Rabbit Hill Inn always make you feel completely pampered. All of your desires are anticipated and met. We've stayed there numerous times through the years and have never once seen housekeeping. Yet our room is always in pristine condition whenever we return. This adds to the whole magical experience of your stay. I once asked for a full ice bucket when I checked in. For the remainder of our stay, every time I entered my room, I had a fresh bucket of ice waiting. The little things like this is what makes the inn so special. It's undoubtedly luxurious with it's beautifully decorated rooms and the dining experience would challenge any 4 star restaurant in Manhattan.

booked this stay at Rabbit Hill Inn on a whim. My husband and I needed to get away from the stresses of everday life and this was a wonderful pick. I went completely by the pictures and information on the Rabbit Hill Inn website. We were not disappointed. The Inn was amazingly beautiful and cozy. The people were freindly and helpful, they took care of our every need. We went during the winter (freezing temps), so we didn't get to do anything outside like the sleding and snow shoeing. We would like to go back during the summer and see it then. The whole place is exemplary. Loved it!!

Our first visit to the Rabbit Hill Inn was in 1993 at which time we were thoroughly smitten. Unfortunately for us, we have not had the opportunity to return until this New Year's. We wondered whether things had changed under the new management. We needn't have worried. All was as we remembered it. The new owners, Brian and Leslie, are delightful and leave nothing to chance. Our room was spotless, the food delicious, and the ambience what one would hope for on a romantic getaway. We heartily recommend a stay at this beautiful inn.

F rom the moment of arrival to time of departure we felt the most cared for we ever have at an Inn anywhere. All of the people employed at RHI are wonderful and very accommodating. The dinners were exquisite. The dining room was warm and inviting. Leslie and Brian are the most attending Innkeepers we have ever encountered. The rooms are lovely. Anyone seeking a time to relax and be pampered in all ways should definitely not miss out on this experience!
5 on January 06, 2009
When we think about a place to get away, our first thought is Rabbit Hill! The food is fabulous, the innkeepers, Brian and Leslie, make you feel like family (of the good sort) and the staff always make you feel welcome! I would recommend Rabbit Hill to any one!

Rabbit Hill is the perfect getaway for a couple who want to relax & recharge. No phones, no TV's, no schedules--just genuine innkeepers & an outstanding staff. With a 4 star dining room there's no reason to go anywhere until checkout.

My husband and I were given a very generous gift to the Rabbit Hill Inn. It took us a year to book our “date” but when we finally experienced the RHI we wondered why we waited so long! The RHI gift is the innkeepers, Leslie and Brian, and their staff. You did not want for anything. They seemed to be able to anticipate all your needs and were ever present when you required them but like ghost when you did not. The staff was so friendly and gracious I kept wondering if I had met them before, they were like old friends. The food was amazing. Dinner was romantic and slow paced; with three kids I do not think we have ever taken two hours to eat a meal, what a treat! We did not think that anything could top dinner but the Champagne and chocolate treats waiting in our room with the fire place burning and candles throughout the suite did it! Breakfast the next day was icing on the cake! The room we stayed in was very cozy and well appointed with two fire places a two person tub and plenty of comfy chairs to curl up in with a good book. Though it was very cold outside when we stayed at RHI (January) we ever took a few minutes after our tub and went out on the screened in porch to take in the breathtaking views of the white mountains, amazing! The highlight of the stay for my husband was Amy. The extremely talented massage therapist at the RHI. The in room massage was just what he needed! We hightly recommend Amy to anyone who is planning a stay at RHI, your stay would not be complete without her! The Rabbit Hill Inn is a delight for all the senses and we recommend it highly to anyone who is in need of a true getaway. It is well worth it!

My husband and I frequent this lovely Inn (3 visits each year-I wish it could be more, but I do have to work). We travel frequently and have visited many fine Inns, but Rabbit Hill is without peer. We seek romance, tranquility and yes, pampering, when we escape and Rabbit Hill is faultless. You can not improve on perfection.

Rabbit Hill is just flat out great. Brian & Leslie have a knack for caring that needs to be experienced.

When researching Rabbit Hill Inn I was amazed that all the writers wrote in such glowing terms and could they really be true? In a word YES. From the minute we walked in the door until we - sadly - left, the whole stay was a pleasure and one we shall never forget. Leslie and Brian epitomise what catering for, and to, guests is all about and we are full of admiration for how they do it from early morning to late in the evening. I won't reiterate what others have written about afternoon tea, the puzzles etc. but I only wish we could return sooner rather than later. However, coming from England it is not possible to pop over so easily.

We were recommended to saty at Rabbit Hill by friends and we were not disappointed. You need to see for yourself as it is so difficult to describe how absolutely fantastic it is to stay at this Inn. From the Innkeepers, staff, rooms, food, nothing is too much trouble and every comfort catered for - just brilliant.

Just a fantastic place to stay.

We have been repeat guests at the Rabbit Hill Inn for almost ten years now. Our expectations were far exceeded on the first visit (when we desperately needed to escape the stress of NYC), and each visit after has been consistently better than the last. All of the rooms are wonderful, and the food is as if you are dining in the very best 5-star restaurant. Best of all though, is the staff - as well as everyone being expert at what they do, they are friendly, relaxed and have a great sense of humor. They have all become like family to us. Rabbit Hill's location, the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, is also something not to be missed - there is no shortage of breathtaking views and amazing attractions to see. In the summer, don't miss a hike in the White Mountains, and in the winter, a sleigh ride is a must! We can't wait to return yet again for another amazing and relaxing visit!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary with a two-day stay at this lovely inn. The charming hosts met our every need and expectation. Our room was extremely romantic, exceptionally clean and hard to leave to do any sightseeing - we loved it! Their excellent restaurant was fantastic and the country breakfast so filling we did not need lunch. The evening turndown service was impecable - candle-lit room, fireplace ablaze, soft music playing, clean towelsl - so very romantic. We can not wait to go back for another visit.

Over the past three years we have been travelling more than 50% of the time continually staying in 5-star accommodation whether it be hotel ship or B &B. None have been better than Rabbit Hill Inn. On our trip to leaf peep we stayed at a variety of B & B's most of which were excellent, but not Rabbit Hill Inn. Brian and Leslie run a first class business providing comfort all the way. Since our return to home we have recommended to many of our friends if they want to have that special trip to save their pennies and go out of their way to get to Rabbit Hill Inn
5 on November 05, 2008
Our annual stay at the Rabbit Hill Inn has become a valued tradition for my wife and me -- one which we begin to look forward to months in advance of the date. From the warm reception offered by Brian and Leslie, to the peaceful surroundings, the well-appointed and romantic accommodations, and the first-class dining room, our visits always seem too short and too far between. We spend our time there being challenged by the remarkable Stave puzzle collection, taking jaunts into St. Johnsbury, hiking trips in northern Vermont or across the nearby New Hampshire border, and just plain relaxing. What a joy to walk down their country road after an excellent meal and take in the natural beauty of the surroundings. I'd recommend booking well in advance, particularly if you're visiting during peak times. It's a popular destination, and many other people have made it their tradition as well.

We booked a 4-day stay at the Rabbit Hill Inn to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. After reading all the positive reviews, we had set the bar fairly high with respect to our expectations. We can honestly say that our expecations were exceeded in all respects. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival by the owners (Brian and Leslie), and given a full tour of the property. From that point forward, both Brian and Leslie (as well as the members of their staff) made a point to always make themselves available to their guests. Leslie even helped us to plan our adventures for each day, providing us with brochures and driving directions for the things we wanted to do and see. Our room was just as decribed on the website, and was extremely comfortable and relaxing. After returning from dinner each night, our bed would be turned down, the fire would be going, and candles would be lit throughout the room. The last (and certainly not least) aspect of our stay centered around the food. The quiet, romantic restaurant contained within this B&B produces food which one would expect to find in a 5-star restaurant within New York City. The food is elegant and creative, and is served by an excellent waitstaff. This high quality was also evident during the daily breakfasts, which are prepared with the same attention to detail and presentation. In summary, whether you are looking for a place to truly "get away" from the rest of the world for a few days, or you are looking to celebrate a romantic occasion, Rabbit Hill offers the perfect solution. As a final thought, if you are looking for something extraordinary to do during your stay, set-up a hot-air balloon ride with Boland Balloons. It was the experience of a lifetime for us both, not just in the amazing ride over the Vermont foliage, but in getting to spend time with Brian Bolland, which was an unparalleled experience in and of itself.

From the initial inquiry about reservations to the good-bye hug, these innkeepers are the epitome of warmth and professionalism. Their staff reflects this too. The room was spacious, spotless, and cozy. The meals were spectacular. Special requests were welcomed. It seemed as if each guest was given the exact amount of attention they wanted. This is a warm and welcoming place we highly recommend.

Rabbit Hill was a much needed "reward" for my husband and I. Lowerford is a small village in northern Vermont with breathtaking views of the mountains. We were not only greeted with a smile by the owner but she also gave us a big hug. From the moment we arrived we were treated with grace, professionalism and above all warmth. Our gourmet breakfast and dinner were exceptional. The best was to retire to our exquisite room with our bed turned down, all the candles and oil lamps lite and the fire going with a bunnie on the bed holding a bag of maple candy. We left with fond memories, renewed spirit and that same hug! My thanks to Brian and Leslie.

We stayed at the Rabbit Hill Inn to celebrate our 10th anniversary, and are already planning to go back. The setting is beautiful and the inn atmospheric. What sets Rabbit Hill apart however is the level of customer service. Without ever having to tell the staff our last names, they knew who we were immediately, provided us with refreshments, settled us in and offered suggestions for hikes and other area activities. It was a wonderfully relaxing weekend, with excellent food, and very addictive puzzles. We had actually checked out, and found ourselves unable to leave without doing just one more Stave puzzle. We highly recommend Rabbit Hill Inn!

This is definitely one of our favorite bed & breakfasts. The hospitality and friendliness of the staff was outstanding, as were the food and accomodations. We loved the attention to detail, including the candles lit in our room each evening. We had a wonderful summer visit and can't wait to come again in the fall or winter.

This was our 4th visit in as many years, and it's never been a dissapointment. A real pleasure to go back to, and with a huge hug from Leslie on our arrival, it was like going back to see old friends. Brian and Leslie, and their staff (any place that still has the same staff there after 4 years must be doing something right. Right?) have always made us feel at home, and relaxed within minutes of our arrival. The rooms are wonderful, and every one different. We stayed in teh main house this time, in the Canopy room, with it's fireplace, and 'wonky' floor, and loved this one too. The food, as always, is excellent, from the breakfasts (the granola is heavenly), the packed lunches (on request - not that you need one after the breakfasts), afternoon teas, and dinner in the restaurant. Just be warned, if you venture into the Snooty Fox for a drink or two, you are in danger of being lured into attempting one of the many Stave puzzles. Great fun, but you will lose all track of time. I don't know why I'm writing this really. I should be telling everyone how bad it is, so it could remain my little secret.

Mark and I always look forward to June, not just because it's our anniversary, but we know it's our special time to be at Rabbit hill. From the time we arrive we are treated like family. We always enjoy the greeting with tea time and treats to die for. The chef and pastry chef are the most talented in their field. I attend a lot of food shows and see a lot of chefs. They are the best. The rooms and atmosphere are so romantic and peaceful. The staff are friendly, professional and very efficient. Everything about Rabbit Hill is appealing.Location, location location what about the view? Stunning and quaint and a little homey too.You can always count on a special time at Rabbit Hill Inn.

The Rabbit Hill Inn exceeded our expectations 100% from the low lights, candles lit and soft music each night when we arrived back in our room to the comfy and cozy sitting room with crazy difficult puzzles to entertain us for hours. My husband I stayed at the Rabbit Hill Inn for our honeymoon last month. We loved EVERY second of it and in fact didnt want to leave. They accommodated our every need. We even booked massages in our room which was wonderful! The food.... where to start. Every single meal (and we had quite a few throughout the weekend - 3 breakfasts and 3 dinners) were OUTSTANDING! You can tell every little detail was thought of when Brian and Lesley opened the doors this "home away from home". We were so relaxed in fact...that we brought home an extra special souvenior with us.... we're expecting our first child next February.

My wife and I have spent many nights at the Rabbit Hill Inn. Our first Impression of the inn lead us to come back and stay for our Honeymoon. We have not been disappointed in any way and look forward to staying again, thanks to the very gracious attitude and service from Brian, Leslie and their wonderful staff.

We found RHI 10 years ago. From the first visit, we knew we found slice of heaven in the most scenic area of Vermont. Innkeepers Brian and Leslie Mulcahy treat every guest with loving care. It's like you "think" of something and they make it happen. The rooms are wonderful, the amenities are plentiful. The Stave puzzles are both fun and addicting. The food is superb. How good is RHI? Each guest room has a little handmade cloth heart as a "do not disturb" sign...that is yours to take as a memento. We have those hearts hanging on every doorknob and lamp switch in our home. Yes, RHI is that special.

WE ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS INN TO ANYONE NEEDING A "GET AWAY FROM IT ALL" VACATION, OR WHO JUST WANTS TO BE PAMPERED AND CATERED TOO, BY A STAFF THAT HAS THE EXPERTISE!!

We went to Rabbit Hill for the first time 9 years ago on our honeymoon. We have yet to find anything comparable. Every time we have gone, including last week for our anniversary, we have experienced utter relaxation and comfort. The location is serene, the rooms luxurious, the innkeepers welcoming and the food is outstanding. We recommend this inn to everyone looking for a romantic get-a-way.

Brian and Leslie make you feel right at home. We can't recommend the Rabbit Hill Inn enough!

The Rabbit Hill Inn was probably the most comfortable and relaxing B&Bs we've been to.
5 on April 12, 2008
When we travel, we generally make a list of all the sights we're going to see and things we're going to do while we're away. While there is plenty to do near the Rabbit Hill Inn, we found that Leslie's suggestion to stay put and enjoy the inn to be the best advice. Our weekend of reading, taking baths in the incredible whirlpool tub, and working on Stave puzzles was incredibly refreshing and rejuvenating. The service is both impeccable and sincere and the food was stellar. My husband tried antelope for the first time in his life.

Our stay was short but wonderful. The food was incredible. Outstanding chefs. We did the cooking class package which was not only delicious but educating. The teacakes at tea time were out of this world. Brian and Lesley are the most accomating innkeepers we have every met. Our stay was incredible and we will be back. The puzzles were great too.

We return again and again to Rabbit Hill Inn for many reasons, the biggest reason is Brian & Leslie who SO make this Inn comfortable and welcoming and this is the place to be pampered and meet wonderful people at the pub, lots of games, and then there's Don. Charming and warm and the meals are wonderfully and thoughtfully presented and put together...i can't say enough of this place. We retreat to Rabbit Hill Inn for refreshment, and to return to a family that we have grown to love. If you have a special occasion to celebrate, check out this place - You will love it.

When life is full of challenge and stress, the place we run away to is Rabbit Hill Inn - our home away from home. From the moment we arrive, the experience is second to none. The Inn is one of a kind but the Innkeepers and staff are the hidden treasure...a priceless experience I assure you. The warmth and pampering we receive envelops us throughout our stay; we treasure our quiet time at RHI, There are wonderful breakfasts (real breakfasts...unique, hot and fresh), Stave puzzles and games to captivate your spirit and challenge your mind, afternoon tea (rivals high tea at The Ritz) and incredible candlelight dinners each evening – you needn’t leave the Inn to have an incredible experience. This is a destination Inn that will sooth your soul, recharge your spirit and remind you of what luxury truly means in your heart. Our room, this time Hampshire, was elegant, spacious and very comfortable. Every detail is attended to, every inch shining clean – the evening “thank you gifts” are a welcome and fun treat. Although we knew we opted for the multi-day package; we had no idea how wonderful it would be! We were greeted in our room by a dozen spectacular roses, chilled champagne and gourmet chocolates…just wonderful in front of our fireplace. Our massages were wonderful – provided in the privacy and comfort of our room – exactly what we needed! I could go on and on…but the fact remains - this is our most favorite getaway. If you have not discovered the magic that is Rabbit Hill Inn, you’re missing something truly remarkable in the world of personalized, Bed & Breakfast experiences… We’ve already started our countdown to our next visit…we can hardly wait to relax and relish in the comforts of RHI…

My husband and I spent Valentines at the Rabbit Hill Inn for the first time. We ususally come in the summer but my husband wanted to experience the inn during the winter months. This was our 6th stay with Leslie and Brian and no matter what time of the year the experience is always consistant. The atmosphere is romantic and relaxing. We had amazing food, took a sleigh ride and went sledding, we felt like little kids all over again, I don't think I have laughed that hard in years. The Inn is always spotless, the staff treats you like you own the place. The attention to detail is spectacular. We have tried to plan vacations to other distant romantic locations but we always change our minds and go back to Vermont. I can't imagine taking a vacation anywhere else. The Inn has become our home away from home, our second family. We can't wait until July when we go back and again in September.

We stayed for the weekend of my birthday to relax after a hectic time at work. It was the most relaxing time, being taken care of by Leslie, Brian, Don and rest of the staff of the Rabbit Hill Inn. When we when to work on Monday, it felt like we had been away for a week instead of the weekend. If you want a pampered, relaxing stay, this is the place to be!

I've stayed here many times over the years and always have a wonderful time; Brian and Leslie are wonderful and make you feel right at home in the most unobtrusive way possible; the puzzles are fabulous! the food was particularly good this fall! the rooms are delightful. There is nothing generic about this place; it's personal and friendly without being too informal.
5 on February 05, 2008
Everything was perfect! This was our 4th stay at the Rabbit Hill. It remains our 1st choice for a romantic, relaxing, perfect getaway. Attention to every detail; innkeepers are friendly, warm, accessible and as welcoming as the inn. The food is heavenly, rooms spotless.... I could go on...

We have stayed at Rabbit Hill Inn perhaps thirty times. There is nowhere else more beautiful, more relaxing and peaceful, or more stimulating for the spirit. When you wish to rejuvenate your life and take some time to "smell the roses," wend your way to Lower Waterford, Vermont. It any season it glistens like a gem. The welcome, even if you are a stranger, is so warm and sincere. The accomodations surpass your expectations. The cuisine could not be finer. In an unobtrusive way one feels supremely cared for and comfortable. For us it is a taste of the past, a step back into History, a precious moment in time recaptured. Informal elegance surrounds you. You may wish you could stay forever.

I cant say enough great things about this inn. The room and dinner were perfect. My husband and i were headed north and booked one night here and we so wished we could have spent a week there.
4.8 on January 10, 2008
The Rabbit Hill Inn has always been a delightful escape from the mainstream for us. Within hours of arriving you notice you don't check the clock very often, you forget about your email, and you leave your cell phone turned off. Christmas is doubly magical with the Inn beautifully decorated inside and out. Comfortable chairs by fireplaces invite you to grab a book and read (and maybe doze off!). If you're an outdoors adventurer there are numerous activities including terrific skiing, but we rarely venture too far. Either approach works nicely. No televisions and no telephones are precious. There are few places left on the planet where you can get away from those two monsters. The inn's atmosphere certainly is romantic any time of the year and Brian and Leslie (inkeepers) go out of their way to make sure you have anything you need for a special getaway. Dining is terrific although rich (I didn't complain!) and I'd suggest you make dinner reservations at the Inn as part of your stay. One specific recommendation; review the Rabbit Hill Inn website closely for an overview of the rooms particularly if you have any issues with stairs and footing. While some rooms are ground floor in the main house, others are up some nice steep stairways - it is an old house. Also, there are some very nice rooms in an adjacent building which offers even more seclusion but will require a walk outside to get to the main house and dining room.

We returned to the inn after a ten-year hiatus and were pleased to find that, just like the timeless village in which it is located, nothing had changed at the inn (except for internet access, a good thing!)--- the friendliness, the ambience, and the great food.

This was our first visit to Lower Waterford. We were met with a very warm welcome from Brian and Leslie. OUr room was a delight and the dinner we had booked that evening was superb. What more can I say apart from the fact - we are booking up another stay for April - that's recommendation in itself from 2 New England lover's from the U.K

My husband and I were introduced to Rabbit Hill Inn by our close friends. We've been there twice in 2007. We have been so impressed by this exception Inn. The owners and staff are so warm and friendly. They go out of their way to ensure your stay is exceptional. The rooms, dining and service are beyond compare. This is a special place, filled with special people - it's not to be missed. Experience it for yourself. You will NOT be sorry!

The service and attention to detail at RHI is unmatched. When it comes to value, you get what you pay for -- RHI is pricey, but worth it! Leslie and Brian go out of their way to ensure your happiness and it shows. My fiancee could not have been happier!
5 on November 27, 2007
It was our first time at Rabbit Hill Inn. It was everything we wanted and so much more. Brian, Leslie and their staff go out of their way to make everything perfect, down to the smallest detail. We will definately be going back again.

From the moment you enter the Inn, relaxation takes over. You are greeted by the most friendly innkeepers in the world, given a tour, and welcomed "home". You will not find a better B&B!
5 on November 27, 2007
If I had to pick just one word to describe the Rabbit Hill Inn it would be consistency. We have never had a bad experience at the inn in all the times we have visited. Each visit has consistently exceeded our expectations in every detail. There aren’t many places about which we can make that statement! If you visit once, you’ll return again and again as we have.
5 on November 27, 2007
This was our sixth year in a row visiting Rabbit Hill. Brian & Leslie always make you feel like you are returning home. Attention to detail is amazing...highly recommended!

It was my first B&B sort of trip in New England, and we definitely made the right choice by staying at RHI! Leslie and Brian were lovely, and welcoming, and we enjoyed having a drink in the pub each night before dinner (the dinner we had at the Inn was fantastic, and they referred us to a great restaurant for our second night). Leslie was so organized, and even gave us short cut directions to whereever we were heading... and gave us great advice on what to do--in our case it was mountain biking. We loved the puzzles as well! Would definitely come back!
4.8 on October 24, 2007
Everything about Rabbit Hill is outstanding. A "Must Stay" place for any trip in Vermont.
5 on October 22, 2007
We have been staying at Rabbit Hill for about ten years now...we usually stay 2 or 3 times a year, and we have never been disappointed. The rooms are just beautiful, Leslie and Brian and the whole RHI staff are just the nicest people. They will make you feel right at home. Once you walk through the door, everything is taken care of for you....you don't have to do anything but relax...they take care of the rest. Instead of trying to find a restaurant to make reservations at, you just stay right at the inn and enjoy a wonderful candlelight dinner. Afternoon tea is soooooooo wonderful and breakfast....well, you just need to see for yourselves. It's a beautiful retreat for couples, and it's always very difficult to leave. That's why we've always returned time and time again.

We always enjoy our time in New England, and Rabbit Hill Inn is one of our favorite places to stay. They are so hospitable and the setting is absolutely magical! I only wish we could have stayed longer!! No one could be disappointed in this place!

The music room, that we stayed in, was beautiful and spacious. The meals were delicious and very well prepared. The innkeepers, Leslie and Brian, are very friendly and made our stay enjoyable. We have always had a wonderful experience during our stays at Rabbit Hill Inn.
4.4 on October 10, 2007
This is a lovely inn located in a beautiful country setting. The main rooms of the inn are very lovingly kept and the innkeepers very helpful and friendly. They have succeeded in doing all the things to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. We especially liked working on the Stave puzzles in the evening. The dining room is also very nice and the food different but good. The afternoon tea/refreshments were also wonderful. There is a choice of several different style rooms - ours was the canopy room which was lovely. The only thing negative I can say is that we found the bed a bit hard.
5 on October 10, 2007
The Rabbit Hill Inn is the perfect desination for a "get away form it all" weekend. Located in a tiny town in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, we've found this place to be ideal for just simply relaxing. Brian, Leslie, and staff at RHI have this knack for knowing what people need or want and just naturals at delivering top notch service. The food at the inn is exceptional. Seasonal and regional cuisine with a good dose of creativity is how I describe the menu. When Peggy and I need some time to recharge our batteries after the rat race of everyday life, the Rabbit Hill Inn is where we like to disappear to and forget about is all until we get back home.

My wife and I have stayed at RHI many times over the last 20 years. Indeed, we honeymooned there and have been drawn back to it ever since. There is simply no other inn like it and no other innkeepers who care as much about the comfort of their guests as Brian and Leslie. While traveling in New England, I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else.
5 on October 09, 2007
At the last minute we decided to head to Vt and were lucky to find a room (actually we had to move into another room on the 2nd night at Rabbit Hill. Brian and Leslie win our award for the top innkeeper any where. They are warm, welcoming and eager to please. The common rooms draw you in whether to chat with others or to work on the Stave wooden puzzles (these defy description so check out their website0. Then there's the restaurant. The only mistake we made was not eating there both nights. We can't wait to return.

Friendly Innkeepers and staff. Food is outstanding. We stay there on each visit to New England.

My husband I and went to the Rabbit Hill Inn for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. The Inn keeper's, Brian and Leslie, have thought of everything to make your stay at the Inn memorable.
5 on October 08, 2007
Rabbit Hill Inn is our favorite in Vermont. The owners and everyone who works there makes us feel 'at home'. The food is excellent from breakfast in the morning, tea in the afternoon to dinner in the evening. What is really special, however, are the Stave puzzles. We really enjoy putting them together in such a relaxing atmosphere.

My husband and I have been staying at the Rabbit Hill Inn over the past 15 years. The high quality has never changed. The food is delisious and creatively presented, the rooms are clean and beautifully decorated, and the owners and staff are truly friendly and concerned about making our stay the best ever.

This was our 11th stay at Rabbit Hill Inn. We go in the Fall for hiking and in the Winter for snow shoeing. The area is wonderful for these activities. We have found Rabbit Hill Inn to be consistently fabulous. Brian and Leslie Mulcahy, the inn- keepers are always most welcoming and accomodating, as is their staff. They keep the Inn immaclate and beautiful, no matter how busy they are. The rooms are filled with beautiful antiques, and meet every need. Many of them have whirl pool tubs which are very luxurious after a day out of doors. A lovely tea awaits the guests from 2:00 on. The Inn serves both breakfast and dinner, with the menu changing frequently. The food is absolutely delicious. The chef is most creative and has made special surprise meals for us. The wait staff are wonderful, friendly, and attentive. The host or hostess, and often Brian and Leslie themselves make sure that the service and atmosphere are perfect. Every evening, the staff turns down the guests' beds and lights the many candles and oil lamps. Along with the gas fire places in the rooms, this makes for a most romantic and relaxing experience. We especially enjoy doing the Stave puzzles in the comfortable sittling room. Brian and Leslie are always getting new ones to challenge the guests. They are the most unique and beautiful hand made jig saw puzzles. Rabbit Hill Inn is so much more than just a place to stay. It is an unforgetable experience.

The Rabbit Hill Inn provided a much needed time out for us. The staff warm & inviting, the dining exquisite, and the rooms just lovely. We will definitely visit again.

Rabbit Hill Inn is a stellar country inn where warm hospitality and service abound. The innkeepers and staff make guests feel immediately welcomed and cared for from the moment of arrival until the time of departure. The accommodations range from a "secret" bed chamber to ones appointed with antiques. Turndown at Rabbit Hill Inn is a special treat with a uniqueness I have never experienced before (I want tell "how so" in order to keep from spoiling the delightful surprise for future guests!). Breakfast and afternoon tea at the inn are always above-and-beyond, and evening meals (consissting of beautifully presented gourmet cuisine) are also available. Located in one of the most photographed pastoral settings of New England, Rabbit Hill Inn is a place I recommend without reservation and hope to visit again soon.
