Governor's House in Hyde Park

After staying at The Governor's mansion for three days & two nights I can recommend with confidence. This inn is a unique opportunity to step into history but enjoy modern conveniences. I was impressed by the attention the innkeeper, Suzanne, paid to the smallest detail to make my stay comfortable & enjoyable. The shelves of movies & selection of books made me want to stay longer than my schedule permitted. My room & bath were very clean, the food was delicious & the views of the mountains were beautiful.

My fiance and I stayed in the English room over a long weekend in January. The inn is beautifully restored and was the perfect spot for a winter weekend escape. The breakfast was delicious, especially the muffins (the innkeeper was kind of enough to pack up extras for our long drive home). The inn's library was a great spot to sip wine and relax after two days of skiing at both Stowe and Smugglers Notch. We look forward to returning again soon.

My daughter had her wedding and reception here for a small group of family and friends. Everything was perfect and the host, Suzanne Boden, was most helpful to my daughter in planning and execution of her special day. A wonderful inn, elegant and historic. The dinner was delicious.

I love this place. I've been there twice, once with my parents and once with my girlfriend, and it was great both times. It's in a beautiful part of Vermont, and the house itself is gorgeous too. All the rooms are big and stocked with bathrobes and amenities more like a hotel than a B&B. And the innkeeper is very attentive - she even brought us tea in our room when we checked in. Definitely hope to make it back there again.

I loved the charm of the rooms in this inn. It was clear that the innkeeper poured her creative energy into them and added special touches to each one. The bed was so wide and comfortable, my husband and I never wanted to leave it! We had delicious meals served to us and had a vast library of books, games and movies to keep us entertained, as well as nearby nature trails. The innkeeper paid us special attention that is so far unmatched by other b and b's I've stayed in. If you're pulling through Vermont this luxurious and cozy inn is definitely worth a stop.

I always go the bed and breakfast route when traveling and the Governor's House is a great find! It has the coziness of a b&b but the cleanliness and quality of a hotel. From the rooms to the food, no detail has been ignored, which makes for a very pampered experience. The Governor's House really made an impression on me and I will definitely come back.

Perfect! I’ve stayed in many bed and breakfasts and this one has been by far the most enjoyable. The house itself is great – beautiful, clean, and cozy. But what really makes the the place stand out is the hospitality itself. The woman who runs it was extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful, the food was delicious. We were served breakfast in bed and ice cream at night, she helped us pick out movies and had all the inside knowledge of the best places to ski nearby and even offered afternoon tea. We came to ski but were tempted to spend much of the trip inside. I cannot speak highly enough about the governors house!

My wife and I were married here just 2 days ago. I cannot say enough about Suzanne and "The Governor's House". I have been in the culinary field for over 20 years and I completly enjoyed the simple elegance of every meal Suzanne prepared. Her use of fresh local produce and products such as maple syrup, berries, etc... From her Ham & Cream Cheese stuffed french toast, Suzanne proudly call's her version of the Montycristo, to our tastey wedding meal and pretty cake. Her choice's of the J.O.P. & photographer exceeded our wish's as well. Our host was professional, freindly and efficient. The House had Class, Character & Comfort all around!

My wife and I were married at Governor's House last week. We really enjoyed the quite, serene setting, and Suzanne took very good care of us from the minute we walked in until when we checked out. We will be back for anniversaries in the future I'm sure!

My husband and I chose the Governor's house for our destination wedding on 6/7/8. We live in St. Louis, Missouri. Suzanne planned everything. Her recommendations for JOP, photographer and flowers were all top notch. The Inn is beautiful. The outdoor ceremony was spectacular with the mountains in the background. The food at the reception was fabulous. Every single guest, 38 in all, had nothing but high praise. Suzanne is an amazing cook and the inn is very romantic. She is extremely organized. Our experience was a positive one. Hopefully we'll make it back to the Governor's House for our first anniversary.
