Highland Lodge

Four generations of Smiths have maintained this country haven for families. A restored 1860s farmhouse inn and 11 cottages (some 1920s vintage) reside on 120 acres abutting crystal-clear Caspian Lake and two nature preserves. The gentle atmosphere brings families back year after year. Included amenities: lovely private sandy beach on the lake, rowboats, pedal boats, canoes, kayaks, beach toys, tennis, lawn games. Available: weekly beach picnics, nature programs, sailboat & bicycle rentals.
In the winter families enjoy cross-country skiing and snowshoeing on the Lodge’s 50 KM of exquisite trails; equipment rentals are available. Cozy living rooms, a parlor and game room offer families indoor retreat. The Lodge’s delicious, homemade food ranges from kid-friendly to more sophisticated entrees for adults, emphasizing local and Vermont products.
